The moment these ninjas stepped upon the surface of the Rishi Moon, I knew I was gonna dread seeing them every time they're on screen because they were something rare. Not just competent, which is scary enough in minions, but overwhelmingly skilled enough for just one to make someone wary of them.

I don’t think cost would be a factor because we saw during the clone wars that both sides really didn’t care too much about budget. It’s most likely because of palpatine he probably saw how op they are and said some bs reasons to the confederacy that they shouldn’t mass produce them because it would end the war way too early than he liked.

IIRC, Filoni said that after finding out about the Death Star's destruction, Kalani would recalculate the Rebels' chances of victory. He didn't say whether that recalculation would make the odds high enough for him to consider it worth joining the fight.
But on the other hand, by that point the Rebels had also firmly designated themselves the "Alliance to Restore the Republic", and Kalani's entire reason for existence was to destroy the Republic. Kalani would've been a better fit for the Partisans, who simply want to destroy the Empire and don't give a damn about the Republic.

The Clones may have become veterans during the war as they survive battles against the Droid Armies, but what made the Droids deadly was that they didn’t need all of its individual droids to survive to update their protocols to make all of their new droids deadlier with new tactics and programs that made them much more effective on the battlefield.

@nicktechnubyte1184 no they wouldn't because the war was rigged from the start. The only way the CIS could have won is of Dooku betrayed sidious.
And the BX is overrated. It's just an up armoured B1 with more advanced programming. You can (and characters have) upgraded B1s to be just as deadly. The BX is mostly super expensive due to the strong but light armour it is made from cortosis-titanium alloy and it's overated infiltration programming.
You would get a much more cost effective droid by simpling useing the combat programing from BX series in standard B1s, and only used regular BXs for commando raids.

The rebels had no desire to field battle droids. The trauma dealt by the Droid Army was still relatively fresh throughout the Galaxy. Aside from toppling the Empire, the Rebellion was adamant about maintaining an image of humanity and compassion. Unleashing an army of cold, lifeless murder machines that already had wrought death and destruction 20 years earlier wasn't applicable with that. Squad tactics do not equal battlefield tactics... if bx on battlefield, it would be as exampled in the video: snipers or dispatched to high priority or secondary cqc targets such as facilities/installations in proximation of the field. They are special use, not general purpose... They wouldn't necessarily serve better than commanders, because there really was little need or difference to commanders, especially on battlefield, because more commonly directives are broadcast from tactical, so commanders were already simply a redundancy in case of comms loss or lower priority, routine functions, off battlefield, such as patrols/security...

I think you guys are missing the obvious. I did not say replace the tactical droids that are commanding the entire army in a particular theater. I said distributed among the basic battledroid as a battlefield commander. Those basic units have not displayed in any way, shape, or form any tactical comprehension at all. At this point, any droid that possesses any form of tactical understanding, even if it is as a special forces unit, would be capable of doing a better job of making sure the objectives are achieved. As well as having the actual intent of the tactical droids orders carried out.
Basically, the tactical droids seem to require something resembling a common sense officer unit between them and the basic droids.

But even for the argument that the CIS should’ve adopted them as the main model and forgoing quantity as its main strength, it ignores that the separatists were primarily fighting a defensive war against an industrially superior opponent. B1s have a lot of value in holding large swaths of ground because of their numbers. It's good to see that they kept the continuity with this in the Commando droids as well. I can't recall the first time I saw them (would be nice, I'd like to be able to remember my reaction). As the TV-series advanced, I was glad to see more variety in the droids and their abilities. Of course, the B1s I think remain my favorites to this day. I'm frequently perplexed as to why the Clone Army did not use Ion weaponry far more frequently when fighting the Droids. Even if only one member of a squad carried an Ion pulse weapon, either blaster, rifle, whatever, they could have shut down Droids en mass making dispatch of them a LOT easier.

Funny to imagine a commando droid keeping clone fingers as trophy’s similar to the clone in Slick’s squad who had a necklace of droid fingers.

My personal head canon is that the BX is so expensive to produce because they require highly precise quality control, fabrication tolerances and easy access to replacement parts to keep up their high agility maneuvres and ability to take a couple of hits and maintain combat capabilities. Great for high risk - high reward missions, bad for a general purpose droid that yes, might charge a heavily defended line but more likely will be on guard duty or man a console on a ship.

Damn shame they don't seem to fully exist in the Legends-verse, though. All those recorded files saying otherwise just don't seem right with those incongruous mentions of a traitorous Barriss Offee (stayed loyal and died on Felucia) and the death of Adi Gallia by one Savage Oppress (K.I.A. by General Grievous in Boz Pity; should have died above the skies regardless).
