- King Ludwig’s abandoned fortress resurfaces as strange weather patterns have been recorded near the cursed castle grounds. Only the bravest souls will embark on snowmobiles in this dark expedition to discover the mysterious phenomenon. A supernatural force is imminent as explorers discover that they are evading more than just a raging storm.
Escape the storm on the ALL-NEW DarKoaster™, the world’s first all-indoor straddle coaster, launching in 2023 at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg. Traveling on snowmobiles across 2,454 feet of track, daring explorers race through total darkness while changing course to avoid the elements. As the weather strikes, riders encounter four accelerating launches on this family-friendly dark ride experience.

I love how Busch Gardens continues its storytelling with werewolves, storms, castles, and monsters. Verbolten was forced to carry ALL of that when DarKastle and Big Bad Wolf closed.
Sure did it well
Nessie is still rolling!
@@catipto and alpenguiest
Loch Ness and alpengeist don’t have storytelling tho
most of the coasters don’t actually
verboltens back must but broken at this point
@@ryan-uk6jf it’s just vague. ALPENGEIST has a literal identity issue. Sometimes it’s advertised with the Abominable Snowman and making you think it’s a forest monster. But it’s described as a “runaway ski lift” and has ski decorations. It wants to be both without doing the work.
"For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of track that only one train may occupy at a time. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop a train in case the next block zone is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another."
Thanks! After reading this I will become unfamiliar again, just so I can listen intently for each and every future video.
What a fantastic way to keep the DarKastle buildings in play. I was worried they'd be permanent event space. 2,400 feet isn't huge, but the DarKastle show building is bigger than that of Verbolten. I'm sure this will be a pleasant enough little jaunt. I wish they could take it to Manta levels from SeaWorld San Diego, but this looks more like Wave Breaker, but indoors, even down to snowmobiles being an easy swap for wave runners.
Now to find a use for the old Drachen Fire spot...
If you weren't aware, there's some good news on that last part. Look up Drachen Spire.
@@soccrman9 Oh thanks!
I'm an enthusiast, but not on the level of others. I appreciate the intel.
And I admit I have mixed feelings about another ride with a spike. I'd rather see something like an RMC or a flying coaster back there.
@@LoveStallion AFAIK drachen spire is an unconfirmed rumor still but we may see it start to come to fruition or not once darkoaster launches next year.
If it is true though we won't see it for at least 4 to 5 years down the line given its rumored to be a giga
I cried like a baby when DarKastle closed. My dad worked at Busch Gardens throughout my whole childhood and he helped wire and build that ride, and he’s unfortunately no longer with us. He was a major roller coaster fanatic, so I’m pretty stoked that they’re bringing it back in this fashion. When I heard about DarKoaster, I just about jumped out of my seat haha. Hopefully it’s a good ride 💛 I like the premise
I'm just glad to see an emphasis on theming after the series of relatively plain and unthemed rides that opened at Seaworld Parks recently.
*cough* Pantheon *cough*
I mean, Pantheon had plenty of theming in the concept videos also. Wouldn't be their first bait and switch.
Seaworld is not exactly a place you would expect theming though.
@@MichaelRei99 At a bare minimum I expect a covered loading area. Emperor doesn’t even have that.
This looks like Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster, in all the worst ways
I'd let ElToroRyan straddle MY blocksection
DEAD! 🤣
but only if it's indoors
He’s married, his straddling has been reduced to one train ops.
Keep your gay sh-t to yourself! This is not the place for that nonsense!
Trains look dope
Busch Gardens Williamsburg here I come.... right after I FINALLY get my rides on Hagrids, Velocicoaster, and ROTR. 😊😊😊
YESSS. Dark kastle was my favorite ride as a kid. So hype they honored the original theming.
Sorry if this seems toxic BUT, it's actually "DarKastle" not Dark Kastle.
such a classic theme as old as time: SkiDoo-ing through your medival castle
Wrong Park
Can't wait for this!
Fun fact: Cedar point is deleting top thrill from existence.
They’re giving dragster a new name ( Kingda ka 2)
Tøp Thrill Dragster, Sponsored by Hot Topic
More like Kingda Ha Ha!!
Very cool. A straddle coaster, snowmobiles. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
This looks like theming may be coming back to SeaWorld parks post Pantheon
Pantheon is phenomenal as a coaster but they really dropped the ball on presentation. What's really aggravating is knowing that the theming could have been so good if they wanted to make it so and BGW normally excels when it comes to presentation and aesthetics. That queue line could have been in the halls of an ancient Roman temple with the loading station under the rotunda. And they could have added rock work and ancient ruins of the Roman gods plus a water feature. They wouldn't even need any practical effects or audio-animatronics (though that would have been amazing.) But just those kind of thematic elements and a bold soundtrack would have made Pantheon the most talked of coaster in 2022.
I was just there for Howl-O-Scream really fun and lots of excitement with this new coaster....
Looks like your riding jet skis through a castle lol
This sounds like a lot of fun!
can't wait to straddle this puppy!
WOAH AWESOME. This is surprising considering the fact pantheon came out just this year.
Look at the ppp loans these companies got. While we got 1200 checks if that and were taxed on it lmao.
Reminds me of the movie Hard Rain
looks fun😮💨
Busch Gardens really likes there multi launches
Skull mountain needs these trains
It certainly could use a good re theme that’s for sure.
In 2006, Busch Gardens Williamsburg had the same amount of coasters as Launch coasters at (Paramount’s) Kings Dominion.
Looks good
Why does SeaWorld love
Launches so much
I like how they didn't even make new coaster trains lol
Hell yeah so bgt will probably get a dark ride soon as well
ah snowmobiles. I thought we were riding jetski's through the castle
Looks like a good new addition! Excited to see what's next for Tampa after this
I doubt something like this because of Hagrid and Tron.
@@DoswarePictures of course I'd want another big coaster, but BGT could really benefit from a water ride or a few more flat rides
its screamin swings, you can already see them getting built
@@ian990 That's right, I remember reading that somewhere. And, I'm not mad at it
The Tampa park has a solid coaster lineup but always lacked a good dark ride. Something like this would be nice, but they already have several family coasters. Seaworld entertainment has experience with trackless dark rides already (although maybe not good experience), but I feel a people-mover based (or oldmill) classic would really work here. Wishful thinking perhaps?
I'M SO EXITED FOR THIS COASTER. i'm somebody who is HORRIFYED of coasters, and this one isn't too extreme. AND IM SO EXITED TO RIDE IT, because the only other coaster i've gone on there is invadr.
How long do you think this trend of the chains building expensive highly themed family rides lasts?
epic
It almost looks like a different version of Hagrids
ryan top thrill dragster is closing down permantly
Waits for the dragster video
Bruh I need to do a trek to Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Yo, Ryan, please do a Coaster Idiots video like the one you did when Volcano: The Blast Coaster closed, except for Top Thrill Dragster.
Looks like the same track as Hagrid's. Here's to hoping they have the software worked out
wonder if it’ll be similar to the mummy
After the BGW announcement, and the Cedar Point tease, next comes the big news from Six Flags. Oh, wait...
GIVE ME MY FUCKING BRAINIAC RIDE BITCH
Love el toro Ryan and el toro wifey
Haggis part 2
So basically it's a longer indoor version of Verbolten.
This was what I was hoping Dollywood was going to do for 2023.
Dollywood needs a Smoky Mountain version of Verbolten.
Imagine they turned it into a museum 😂😂😂
But the same characters even Dracula is on this it's crazy
Kings Dominion is officially done.lol
They're getting another coaster!?
My husband got dizzy on Verbolten because of the darkness. He wouldn't survive this.
dragster 😭😭
love me an indoor jet ski
Looks really cool, my problem I have are the trains. They look way to much like a jet ski and kinda take me out of the theming
Did you read the description halfway into the video? It’s a snow expedition on a snowmobile across the castle grounds.
Yes I did and i having owned a snow mobile I feel they could’ve put more into making it look like a snowmobile, it’s just looks way to much like a jet ski doesn’t kill the ride for me just wish that was better thats all
@@Huntbeck33 On the one hand, adding skis would get in the way of the ride articulation or be a bunch of extra moving parts. On the other hand though the track definitely goes way way too far forward.
@@joesavag That description got dumber the longer it went on
Wonder why the train is a jet ski
rip top thrill dragster
Now is the straddle coaster is that like Tron Lightcycle or Hagrid's Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure?
I doubt anything will be as complicated as hagrid’s. Probably closer to Tron.
Intamin is building this one, so probably more like Hagrid's.
any idea where in the park this is located? the advertisements look like curse of dark castle
Williamsburg, Virginia. It's taking the building of Curse of Dark Castle, after that shut down a few years ago. There were actually pieces of track you could see while riding Alpengeist for a bit this summer, behind the building.
King Ludwig?
Well we did get the Intamin for Busch Gardens which is like wave breaker from San Antonio and the rumored Wild Artic Coaster for San Diego but indoor, also the unwelcomed news from Cedar Points is that Top Thrill Dragster will no longer be operating and probably be removed
well, that's a short coaster at 2,400'. i wonder what they're going to do to make the ride longer.
It sounds like a lot of it travels at dark-ride pace
It loops around twice, the theming will be different the second time
Have they announced the manufacturer yet?
It’s Intamin ofc
Come on, is the next season only for family coasters? Cedar Point, Dollywood and now BG Will. all announcing just family coasters.
I think Logan’s gonna sue somebody.
B&m margera?
What? Why? What’s next? Jason “Wee Man” Vekuma?
News from CP today with dragster, intrigued to see what you think of the announcement. Something addressed as closing “as you know it” I feel might potentially imply a huge refurb for the ride
Odd choice of theming but glad to see Dhar Mann finally getting his own coaster. I bet Busch Gardens INSTANTLY REGRET spelling his name wrong though.
Hey Ryan, is there anyway you could do a video looking into the new Six Flags Qiddiya currently under construction in Saudi Arabia? Supposedly, they will have the tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster in the world when completed called Falcon's Flight.
Love your videos!! Thanks!
Another launch coaster 😂
Intamin?
we Hope! Best Producer
Theres a video on youtube showing the construction, track looks like Intamin thats what I thought
Yeah, local news confirmed it's an Intamin
Hi, ElToroRyan. I just wanted to know: Did you see my gmail message I sent you? I feel like it's important for you to read. Apologies to bother you.
They are making an all indoor roller coaster. And they are calling it, darkoaster. Why
