As sketchy as that DLC seemed, it's an idea Capcom never expored. Whatever game Vergil was in, he was just a playable character with no cutscenes or story. We'd get maybe 2-3 cutscenes for the whole game which, honestly, doesn't do justice to the most interesting character in the entire franchise. I now want a full Vergil campaign DLC with separate unique levels, enemies, cutscenes, and whatnot, but for DMC5 Vergil. Why couldn't Capcom have done that while NinjaTheory could?(
Part of me wishes that DmC Devil May Cry was canon to the main series, if only to see Ninja Theory's takes on Dante and Vergil interact with their original counterparts.

I don’t like the game but OG DMC never gave Vergil his own story. You just play as him in the same missions as if you were playing as Dante. Which is lazier in reality?
From my experience, this was my first DMC game ever so I am quite biased towards on how good it is. Say what you want but I kinda have a bond with the game and I enjoy and like it.
