Wow, i just realized Dante's hair actually grew a little more between when he, Trish and Lady went to fight Urizen to 1 month later when V found him, nice detail.

The same thing happens in the reboot, at the end dante's hair is noticeably longer and turns completely white/silver.

Sooo that's why in the manga of DMC3 for the introduction of Vergil was written that he believed that his mother loved Dante more than him. V said that " he wanted to be loved and protected " just like Dante. I wish they write a novel about the day that the demons attacked and what exactly happened to Vergil and Dante after that.
From all the clues it sounds like Dante ran away, became homeless or an orphan and changed his name to Tony Redgrave to avoid demons and anyone hunting for him.
Vergil's story probably deserves a game of its own. Given how skilled and powerful he already was it looks like he was trained and taken as a child soldier either by other demons of evil people given how much disdain he has for humans.

Julian Marco He probably searched for help from humans but was turned away and probably grew to dislike humans. Curiously, he had to have been trained formidably somehow and probably fought demons all his life. He probably avoided humans out of respect for his mother but hated how weak he was for not being able to protect his mother. Dante had to have started training somehow but probably went in the same boat minus the dislike for humans. Although I think Dante started training late as a given he’s a mercenary who kills demons and in the anime he refuses to kill humans of any kind.

This may have two meanings.
1. Vergil believes Eva left him behind and that it was because she loved Dante more than him.
2. If Dante didn't exist, he wouldn't lose to Dante all these times and he wouldn't have separate his humanity, V from his demon-self. And now that V is the one suffering after separation, he can finally realize it was a mistake.
Man I feel really bad for Vergil
Well honestly none of the fights he had with Dante were actual losses. First fight he had to fight Dante 3 times Dante is just quite durable and he gave up after he saw the necklace and became frustrated, then he just sorta left himself fall he still had fight in him to go against mundus, second time around he wasn't really himself as the black angel.
I think option 1, all this quarrel started in that tragic day. But also Vergil it's been childish and always blame others and never take responsibilities from his actions.

Vergil would be a generic heroic protagonist just by his personality. Dante would be a Joker-like villain, cracking jokes while he makes Vergil suffer.

Maybe now it is because anything he does, he keeps losing. He just reflects on his accomplishments and concludes that Dante always had it better than him. Maybe he wants love and to be protected but he never wants to feel powerless again.
Personally I dislike that Vergil never knew his mother's fate. I always imagined that his lust for power came from the trauma of being powerless to protect his mother when she died. Now, it feels like it could be something weaker like the need to survive.

Vergil's hatred towards Dante is not for any jealousy.....infact he dnt hate Dante....He was angry abit in his childhood days tht Dante gets more attention of their mom but with age & maturity Vergil understood Dante was younger so thts obvious. What has been torturing Vergil from inside all this long was his powerlessness & guilt feeling tht he could not save his mom or his family. Vergil is introvert & such personalities tends to have a pessimistic attitude. They cnt express their deep feelings openly & suppress them inside which causes them to misunderstand a situation & the pain of guilt feeling forces them to go extremely violent until they find inner peace. Dante stands in between Vergil & the powers tht vergil seeks....so Vergil wants Dante to either join him or he should stay away oknknknkk

No, that is just wrong. Eva came back to save Vergil and died on the attempt. Nowhere it says that she choose to save Dante, he was probably the first son that she stumbled upon.

Vergil hated Dante, because he thought his mother loved Dante more than him. It is a huge cliche, but totally understandable... because I'd feel the same in his place
I feel like Vergil feelings are similar to his counterparts from DmC, he probably feels like his mother always favoured Dante more and cared about him so much that she chose to save him and left him to to die. He felt second best, that’s why he chose to severe his human emotions and not care about anyone, even his own blood and son. To Vergil, power was more mightier then love, if u compare this to Indra and Ashura, Ashura believed in love and connections with everyone while Indra believed power is meant to rule, control and balance things. I felt like if Nero hadn’t have stopped Vergil and Dante in their fight, they would have both died the same way Indra and ashura did.
That doesn't make sense. Even as an 8 year old Vergil was more interested in his demon side, and why he was given the sword that separates demons from humans. When Eva died, Vergil was on the property outside visiting Sparda's grave and thinking to himself. Demons attacked him, but he was left stabbed and pinned to the grave instead of dying. The Mundus scouts started the trend of demons underestimating Dante and Vergil's ability right here. The terror and pain this brought him and the knowledge that he survived because of his demon heritage while Eva couldn't gave him his motives for evil.
Harry Willmore Actually Vergil was playing on a playground nearby when the attack happened. He mentions it himself earlier in the game. He even points to the playground horse thing.

In the lore vergil blames himself for his mother death. He wanted power because if he had power then his love ones will not die again, but in the process he was blinded in what was right and wrong in his pursuit of power. Vergil doesnt hate dante, in fact they both thought that each other were dead that is until the rain battle in dmc 3 where they saw each other for the first time since childhood.

Its not the first time the fight in the rain on the top of temeni gru is the second fight
The first one is on the manga where vergil easily defeats dante and tries to steal dante’s amulet he then begs vergil to give it back then vergil returned it and says i can get it anytime i want,
Then proceeds to unlock the seals to release the temeni gru
Then after that events on dmc 3 happens, where dante says its been nearly years since we last met where does the time go.

Yes, they may not like eachother but I'm not saying they hate eachother; they know how important they are to one another, rather it be against or allied, they serve each other purpose. Why do you think Dante's path always leads to Vergil in a way ? They must coexist for purpose and to fight one another, not love or anything.
@@theonlylonewanderer1660 they still have a mutual love deep down. DMC3 showed it and the way Dante got so depressed over his brother's death proves it. Nico didn't give two shits about her dad dying and hangs out with who killed him even, and I think even that relationship wasn't on such deadly levels as Dante's and Vergil's was. You'd know if you had a sibling with constant conflict between you two, trust me.

A bit late but in the manga it shows that v feels the power of urizen and realises dante won't win, so he goes to find nero to help
Not sure but i read somewhere that Vergil was somewhere outside, he was almost died by the demons, cant remember but he got the Yamato and slaughtered the demons who bullied/attacked him. he felt alone and thought that his family all gone/died, that day he was motivated to become stronger so he cant be defeated again and thought himself that without strength/power he cant protect anything. Thats why he is so obsessed to get More Power! Nero inherited that Motivation, when play as Nero and you about to reach Artemis or the 3rd boss in DmC5, you will notice that Nero says "without strength, you cant protect anything, i know that"

Nah. Let classics be classics and stop trying to erase the past. You already have DMC5 with Re engine so why not just enjoy that? and RE engine isn't too good with female faces. Trish and Lady looked a LOT better in DMC4.

DMC3 manga shows Vergil at Sparda's grave getting stabbed by the Yamato and hints his DT is opened at a young age. While Dante was hidden in the closet crying as he sees his mother get murdered by demons. Nice too see Dante and Vergil talking about their past very well done here in DMCV, but still teases you that you want more. It's pretty much answers without full details why.

What I get from what they have shown before this is that both dante and vergil were hiding and eva tried to distract the demons away from but vergil went out to try and protect their mother but failed thus splitting them up and ended tp blaming himself for being powerless

Well, he is 43 years old. The guy is on constant fights with demons after the moment he woke up from a month long coma. Then fought with the new Demon King and won. Finally he trapped himself in the underworld where he fought with his brother who is equal to him for a month straight ( although it was a friendly fight). No wonder the guy looks so tired. And yeah, he is old now.

They wanted to make a DMC reboot sequence, but the developer team from capcom was more familiar with dmc4, so they sequence the original timeline. But there's still a chance to Ninja Theory made a new sequence

While I do recommend that you check out DMC1 because it's awesome, I'll just answer your question. The main villian of DMC1 created Trish and made her look identical to Dante's mother so she could easily manipulate him. As you can see, that didn't work out the way Mundus planned and Dante and Trish are comrades now.

I'd kind of agree there. Devil May Cry lost a lot of stylization in that change when compared to the earlier games. Looks more like a action movie then a devil may cry game now. I'd still consider it a good game though.
