Wow, this man has included every culture, race, ethnicity, skin, and hair type in this video. It is truly all-inclusive, and I feel so seen. If I ever need a transplant, I will most definitely look him up.
This is the most educational video about hair I’ve ever seen
Indeed. I always wondered how this worked with the different hair types and now I know.
TRUE!
I am so impressed with your knowledge of Afro curly hair! Thank you for sharing this information. 😅
He's a doctor he's supposed to know
Maybe he prefers them black
Dr Gary is a national treasure! ❤
I’m half way through the video and I have to say KUDOS to you Dr. Gary for doing your research on proper terminology for Afro type hair instead of the “African-American” term (which makes no sense anyways) ⭐️ Thank you for sharing this video!
Glad it was helpful!
It is a pleasure to observe the sophistication in thought and passion about the subject!
I’ve been waiting for this type of educational video. Thank you!
Thank you for addressing possible scarring and keloids! Great vid
I wish you were my teacher for every subject I'd ever studied. The way you explain things is just ✨️✨️
Excellent! Thank you for listening and sharing your knowledge!
Very informative! I like to add, hair steaming helps with dry strands.
Fascinating the different follicals and hair shapes difference. I do agree washing hair drying and straighten daily longterm damages hair.
I like to go a few weeks before a good wash...brushing the oils down along has helped retain a health look.
Wow doc very informative. Lot of effort put into this 💯
Thank you !!! It would be perfect if you could also do such video on skincare and acne 🥰🙂🥹
Great video! Thank you
This was very informative 😃
Great vid Dr. Linkov! Was also wondering if there are any vitamins that we should focus on getting lots of for healthy hair.
Biotin per dr berg & myself aka dr danger
Dr Berg isn't even a medical doctor lol. He is a chiropractor aka quack doctor. Go take advice from a scammer lmao
Please make a video about Dealing with dandruff with different hair types. 🙏
Great Video again Doc ! so one question : how do you decide and deal with mixed races like in my case half caucasian and half asian with dark brown hair ?
I'm 29 years old and have soft, and a bit curly, hair my father is bald. While I haven't shown any signs of balding myself, I decided to proactively use minoxidil and a derma roller to maintain my hair health. After two months of consistent use, I've noticed a significant increase in hair thickness
Are you a male or female? Did you grow hair anywhere else? I have same situation as you.
Any side effects?
Question: If the process is longer to extract folicles on afro hair, do you charge more as the procedure takes up more time, or do you calculate payment for the procedure in a different fashion?
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
After watching this video, I want to make a consultation with you next time I am in NY.
I love how Dr. Linkov says "press" for heat straightening.
Great and very important content.
Fantastic video!
Loved this video! It explains a lot. Im an African American woman so I have fewer strands on my head than my Mexican/Cuban husband who has a ton of hair on his head. However, my hair is also very fine in that the thickness is not as thick as other black women I know, but my husband's hair strands are like cutting through a dictionary with a pair of scissors. His hair strands are so thick! My hair is way curlier than his though, which is wavy, and not nearly as oily.
I would like to humbly request Dr Gary to give detail explanation on shock loss / hair shed after a hair transplant, which I've just underwent. At times, I've experienced few hairs that have bulb and some don't. So does that mean those hairs that have bulb means a graft is lost? Would be nice if Dr Gary provide some samples i.e. animation or pictures so that one will know whether graft/follicles are lost..
That’s the video I was waiting for. My surgeon told me he doesn’t know whether I could take oral minoxidil immediately after my surgery. So he left up to me to decide it. I have been taking it from day one after the surgery. What’s your opinion?
I went from straight hair when i was a child, starting 10 my hair started to go curly like so curly, now in my 20s it changed to wavy 🙂
Could you make a video about hair, hairline maturation?
Thanks for your wealth of knowledge. I am always in awe of your honesty, compassion, humility and kindness 🎊!
I appreciate that!

All the products are sold out. Any idea when you will have them back in stock? I definitely want to buy!
Dr. Linkov, can you please do a video on the evolution of hair transplant?
I have been using minoxidil for eight months and the hair growth is good and the hair loss has not stopped
Amazing video!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!!
Doc what test do we need to do on regular basis when using minoxidil and finasteride just to make sure everything's going fine! 🙏🏾💕
CBC should be sufficient
THANK YOU for clarifying that determining whether or not your hair is wavy or curly depends on how far off the scalp the hair begins to bend/curl! 🙌🏼
I grew up being told I was a curly girl my whole life because I have a lot of ringlets, but I’m not lol My hair is WAVY, so treating it like it was curly was not doing me any favors. Curly products were MUCH too heavy for me and weighing my hair down and actually damaging it.
Hopefully hearing you say it will be an “ah ha!” moment for people and encourage them to switch their routines to better suit their hair 🖤
No, this is an African American perspective. All hair that ringlets is curly, only people with Afro hair tend to think differently. In the Asian, Arab, European etc world your hair would be considered curly.
Those products were too heavy because they were meant for 'Afro hair' & you don't have that.
No one is going to change their cultural standards because a bunch of Americans think they should.
I have 2C hair & most of the World's population would see it as curly, American Imperialists be damned!
@@fifilamour1344 I mean, it’s actually a scientific perspective, but go off lol It’s ok to learn new things and realize that what you thought you knew was actually incorrect 😉☺️ I had to relearn how to properly care for my (wavy) hair and I’m so grateful for the re-education 🖤
It’s more complex than just Ringlets = Curls, though I know that’s a common misconception that most people have without the proper understanding of the science behind it. For example, if your ringlets start halfway down your head, um, I hate to tell you, you have wavy hair lol And you insisting it’s curly and teasing it as such is going to end up with it over moisturized and damaged pretty quick 🤷🏻♀️
Not that I need to justify anything, but I’m mixed, my mom is Afro Caribbean making me about 1/4 African according to my dna testing, and I’m also half Asian, so I’m pretty familiar with both lol I also went to hair school and I’m very well versed with what you keep referring to as “Afro” (aka actually curly/coily) hair lol
I also think that it’s important to note that curly and coily (“Afro”) hair isn’t exclusive to Black peoples though. Many people of Jewish descent, for example, have the same hair type 🖤 And curly hair would not be able to even form an Afro. That’s actually just those with COILY hair 🖤
Anyway, I hope you have a great day ☺️
Hi Doc, can you make a Video about the anagen synchronisation after a Hairtransplant? Im currently in Month 8 and my transplanted hair is shedding hardcore, now my hair got thin. A month before my hair was perfect like when i was 15.
Hi Doctor Gary, does The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum For Hair Density effective for male pattern baldness? 😊
I saw a man on the Old Kent Road this morning that looks exactly like this guy - I really thought it was him 💖💖
Does topical minoxidil cause undereye hollows and darkening? I'm a woman and just started but have seen some people post this side effect. Your experienced and educated response would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
second! love ur vids doc! ❤
Can you talk about what to do with dry scalp?
Hi Dr. Linkov, I have a mixture of Asian and Afro hair, it looks like 2b on your video scale, and it can be challenging to style because of frizziness and looking too flat or thin when I condition it. Despite its heaviness on my head from the thickness of individual strands, my hair's density seems low. I am interested in using Minoxidil to grow back a desired length and add more volume to my hair. Will this work?
Hi Doc. With the exception of the scar treatment, every product seems to be out of stock 🤷🏻♀️
When will you be getting more product in?
Thank you 😊
End of Feb/early March
Is prp very much needed after hair transplants or not sir???
Is prp results are temporary??
I’m mixed with all ethnicities so my hair is a mixture of everything. Some places high density, some places straight, curly, European hairline, Asian jet black… I have super straight mixed with super curly in the same areas. My mom is European mixed with Asian mixed with African. My dad is African mixed with Native American mixed with European.
Cool ancestry. 😊
then gary is definitely your guy since he is familiar with all three
You have my condolences because I have a similar mix of ancestry and my hair follows literally NONE of the traditional hair-type standards with ease. Learning proper hair-care throughout my life has essentially been a journey through uncharted territory with no maps. lol
Could the shedding starts from day 10 or is it too early ??
Good! 👍🏽
I would love to see Gary do analysis of what to Frank Tufano's eyeballs. He's a CZcamser that recently had an eye plastic surgery but it didn't turn out well. His eyeballs are now canted inward in an unnatural angle
Nice video
Please do a video about monica belluci .
I love him
This was a very informative video, Dr Gary, but every time I heard “Asian”, you didn’t mention Indian people. Since indian hair tends to be thicker and curlier than the pacific Asian hair, what category would it fall under?
exactly. not just indians, but south asians, central asians, middle easterners are all ignored in this video
Feel confident website isnt working over here. Says website is down
southeast and south asians with their very much NOT straight hair getting bunched with east asians with pin striaght hair: welp
Amazing educational video and your knowledge is top tier. Thank you. ( type 4bc curly girl )
Is that why sapphire tool is recommended for fuel on afro hair?
Please consider changing the video banner. “Bad mistake” with an arrow pointing to Afro textured hair in a braided style implies things that are not mentioned in the video.
Shave your head and put your wigs on, problem solved. 99% of the afro hate their natural hair btw, and in africa, afro is almost nonexistent too.
Fed up of your tribal mentality, based on violence, lies and victim card.
Oh my goodness😮
Sir .. I am 41 and female. I was taking finasteride 5 mg since past 6-7 years. My hair density got better and I didn’t feel any side effects. However, my doctor switched my finasteride to bicalutamide 25 mg. I was very excited as I read that this helps with acne too. But it’s been 10 weeks and I don’t see any change in hair or acne. Can u please give your opinion whether I should continue with bica or go back to finasteride
5mg a day? What kind of sides do you have?
Didn’t really feel any side effects other that some headaches for the first few months .. I was quiet comfortable on 5 mg of finasteride
I have some very thin, straight hairs, and some very thick, curly hairs that are darker than the rest too. I have no idea how to take care of my hair
3:17 I want to buy your shampoo and conditioner but you guys have been sold out for a while now. Any updates on this?

Hello sir I have an idea how about making a video on your subscribers hair 😅😅 also which type of a hair style should a person keep short hair or long.?
🤣🤣 He's not a hair stylist! 🤭🤗
what about indian hair thickness??
Surely that's the same as Asian hair? 🤔 My Indian and Muslim friends have exquisite hair when young, but because naturally black in colour, tend to grey younger, and make use of black dyes, which seem to thin the hair out drastically over time.
interesting!
If we got Caucasian curly hair we shall follow the same routine as the straight caucasian hair you mention on video ?
What about straight hair that gets greasy after one day of washing? I have to wash my hair everyday, if I skip a day it literally looks like I haven't washed it in a month. I've tried everything from detox shampoo to not washing my hair in a week but nothing works. Is there anything I can do? I'm starting to think it's just genetics.
You may need to see a dermatologist. It may be a skin issue with your scalp 🖤
I suffered with the same in my youth, but as I aged, it fried out dramatically.
You have to use dry shampoo/corn starch. I am a greasy girl myself & it took a few months to see a change but I only wash twice a month w shampoo now bc I have less oil due to the routine I’ve described above
Maybe look at your diet too and see if it's causing the problem. If you consume lots of oils, nuts or dairy, it makes the skin and scalp naturally oily. Some cultures use tons and tons of oils when cooking their food plus put more oils on top afterwards on every dish, and eat lots of nuts and cheese and other fatty food and snacks, which isn't the best choice if you want to have less greasy hair.
@@2okaycolaYeah I have heard that people used to washing daily (who have oily hair), have to go for quite awhile of only washing once or twice a week before their hair adapts and stops producing so much oil. The idea being that the constant drying out of the scalp from daily washes has caused the oil glands to overcompensate to combat it. I'm not sure if this is true, but it would make sense. And anecdotally, in the yrs that I've cut back on washing my hair, I've needed less and less dry shampoo over time. It just doesn't get oily. But that could also be related to me getting older which causes less oil production.
can you do a plastic surgery analysis on Michelle Trachtenberg?
is it just aging like she says??
idk, she also just looks very dehydrated and not like herself lately, like it looks like more than just aging
I have curly-kinky hair, and it is sometimes difficult to find a proper hairdresser. one day I just asked the hairdresser to stop, tied my hair and went out. she obviously didn't know how to take care of kinky hair and didn't want my advises. after 10 minutes of her torturing my hair and me arguing, I just had enough.
on the contrary, one thing I found reassuring was this hairdresser who told me: don't worry, I have 2 mixed daughters, I know how to handle your hair.
yes if you know, you know.
I agree, it can be so difficult. A hairdresser told me she knew curly hair and then proceeded to just pull at it and when I asked if she could diffuse it, she didn’t know what a diffuser was!. Needless to say I didn’t go back lol… my current hairdresser has mixed children so she knows the products, understands shrinkage and why I prefer diffusing it.
It surprises me the amount of hair professionals that can only work with one hair type.
That hair grafting sounds like it hurts. Ouch!
AGREEDDDDD! 😱😫😢😁
Can an afro hair person be transplanted with Asian hair or vice versa?
I'm Asian and have small strand hair
Do you ship product to europe ? Thx
Cosmetic yes
Hmmm🤔 I'm European, my hair is blonde, but like bronze colour which I must buzz it super short or shave it off, mostly due to getting greasy after a day wash, and later more issues occurred...
Fix your food. Don't blame your body trying to reject the crap that you are swallowing.
@@Paraclef Actualy I rarely eat junk food, dont smoke - never did and rarely consume alcohol. Went to doctors, gave blood samples many times and everything is flawless. Genetics, working environment and stress are the main issues in my case.
@@oliverpetroski4205 Try to see if dairy and cereals products, plus cooked oils can be the cause of the grease.
I understand that your job and climate could be the problem too.
But, if you are in a 4 seasons zone, it can be normal to feed the body with fats during the cold periods. 🥰
@@Paraclef Yeah, we got all four seasons here. The summer goes over 40 degrees Celsius. Right now its winter with its minus 20 degrees Celsius...autumn and spring being normal. I havent bought 🍔 🍕🍟🌮🌭 more than 4 months because I prefer to eat normal food, plus with the economy change they have been seriously overpriced even though they are not healthy at all.
When I see where I work it gives me huge stress and that plays a major part.
@@oliverpetroski4205 And you do really have to cut your hair short.
I know that getting short hair is bad on every level.
Grease management, durability and strength of the roots, same for the scalp.
In life, an old and big forest is always better than a small bush, right ?
Inflation for the food is indeed a path to consume better and better, as we need more simple and rustic ingredients.
But, even at my local market, the price of the veggies, like spinach or courgettes is going up to 6 euros per kilo... this is madness. 😓
I'm asian. While there will be different from person to person or how old you are, I think most Japanese would start to smell when they wash their hair only once a week. It is interesting how big the differences between the ethnic groups are.
All your products are sold out. Any idea when they will be back in stock?
By early March.
Dr gary, is it safe to use topical minoxidil as an oral one? To drink 0.05 ml of it 2x a day or 1 ml a day?
It's active ingrediets are minoxidil 5% and inactive ingredients are alcohol, purified water and propylene glycol
No don't drink it
@@justlooking6810 any reason why not? All ingredients are edible, and active ingredient minox is shared between both oral and topical form
@@dsomasterr6501 topical minoxidil isn't formulated for oral consumption. Just buy an oral one
I have been taking it like that for the last probably 9 months after not wanting to use the minoxidil topically anymore. I wouldn't say that I had subsequent hairloss, which would be expected, if the solution didn't work orally. Also, I might be imagining it, but I feel like my eyelashes have gotten slightly longer.
Hard to say if the expected dosis is actually getting into the blood or is being otherwise metabolised. I diluted it to contain about 5mg of minoxidil per ml. I can't imagine that the propylene glycol and alcohol at this dose would be dangerous.
@@paulbeli4845 nice, what do you think about eyebrows, did they get thicker?
