    Funny about this on 1200 and other bikes as Tenere from Yamaha it was standard and metal, w hinge assembly and fasteners securing into the gas tank..

    Hey, I heard that heating the 3M sticker (like with hair dryer) improves the adhesion.

      Yes, even 3M in the technical sheet recommend the heating with hairdryer and strong pushing to increase adhesion. Adhesion is also better later after some time than immediatelly after aplication.
      But from our experience, even after sticking it is holding enough for using. We had no problems and no complaints about that. The surface must be clean, ideally cleaned with alcohol or even better with isopropylalkohol.
