    Hey, your Inventory system is awesome. Did you have some Crafting system in mind where you can craft multiple items like 7 days to die and with a que? it whould be very nice

    So I am running into an issue where when I drop items, there's always an extra one drops somehow. So if I drop[ 5 items, 6 get dropped, if I drop 1 item then 2 get dropped. I'm trying to go back and forth to see where i've made a mistake.

      CORRECTION: I forgot to switch DropFromInventory Item Quantity to be -1 instead of 0. Everything works GREAT!

    This is AWESOME! Is there a way to make the container spawn random items from a given list rather than having to fill out each individual container? Maybe I can make a database table with basic loot references and the chest could be assigned to pull random amounts of items from the table?

    Hi. I have a small bug. Specifically, when I take something out of a chest and use the “Store” option it replaces the first item with the one I want to store. That is, I have a chest with 5 slots and in it 3 items: Slot_1: item ID: 0001 Slot_2: item ID: 0002 Slot_3: item ID: 0003 Slot_4: EMPTY Slot_5: EMPTY I pick up item 0002 from the ground and use “Store” select whatever amount I want, click “Store” and the chest looks like this: Slot_1: item ID: 0002 Slot_2: item ID: 0002 Slot_3: item ID: 0003 Slot_4: EMPTY Slot_5: EMPTY It doesn't look for the first free slot to store the item there, it just puts it in the first slot, no matter if it's already occupied. On the other hand, if I put the item in (by drag) and take it out by the same method. And then I use the “Store” option it works correctly. I watched the video 3x and did not find a solution.

    Amazing, very modular and robust system. Personally, i'd make items prioritize appearing in the Hotbar before Inventory if there are available slots, but the system is so easy to modify this is a non-issue really.

    Thanks for these, they seem to be working so far! Except for part of this one, I can't figure out where I went wrong. From the pause menu, the settings button will only work once. If I close the settings and try to open them again, the button is dead.

      Double check that when the widget is removed, it's the same as others. I think I might have left out something by accident in one of the widgets.

      Hello there! It sounds like you're switching your camera on pickup foe some reason. And the fly away might be due to a collision on the item. So double-check you're ignoring the collisions or have them disabled.

      Hello! I'm not exactly sure. You might have made a small error where the focus is lost on the inventory widget. But if you found a work-around that's great!

    I'd love to dive into this. Will u be explaining how to equip a sword or even a stick in a hand in this series. All hotbar tutorials on youtube never explain this lol we can always drag and drop and press a button to eat. They always leave out the most important part. How to equip an item. It's like that function only exists for AAA game titles

    Pretty good so far! I need to play around with physics with smaller objects because my character gets tripped up walking on them. I wanna recreate skyrim /fallout type physics for free roam loot and this so far has been a great starting point! Good job!!

      @@lisowi. Ok thank you. In my function, I have a float input named "Point" and I need a negative value for my progress bar and death functions to work. But the output of "Falling Damage" is a positive value, so I set a multiplier with -1. It almost works! I do have my progress bar decreasing, but for example on the first jump I have -81 and normally on the second jump it should die, but it's not showing -95 for example. Normally, if the player makes 1 jump at -75 and follows it up with another at -56, he should die. Don't the values add up? In fact, I need to make a jump that exceeds -100 to die. Tell me if this is clear or if I've made mistakes.

    Lisowi, these are fantastic. Been doing some customizing as I go and everything is working great. Please keep them up. Quick question, for the use effect, how would you call the item’s class to execute the effect (I am planning to create a child class from the base class for food items for example) and want to have the effect done in the class. Or is there another way you are planning to execute the effect? Would love to see as very simple example (print string within the object class would be great). Thanks.

      Thank you very much! I'm glad you find it fantastic. For the item effect, there is a print string. The effect actor prints a string on begin play, so when we spawn it in, it appears on the player screen. You could add health or whatever it may be on that begin play inside the actor.

      @@lisowi. Thanks - I have that working now with my Character Stats system. I also modified the "Use" command by adding a "Is Consumed" boolean to the Item Struct so that things like food disappear from inventory when used but other objects (a flashlight for instance) persist after use. One thing I notice is that after using the pop-up menu, the inventory widget loses focus and the "I" key no longer works to close it unless you specifically click in the widget again. I thought it might be something I caused with my mod but it happens with the split option as well which I didn't mod.

    i followed part 2 of the tutorial but the sphere trace hit thing is getting the full actor of the mushroom blueprint class not just the name from item data... is part 2 needed or can skip to part 3

      Double check your blueprints. It sounds to me like you are printing the display name rather than a name from the data table. You don't need the names, but you will need the interaction in order to pick them items up.

      Managed to fix loosing focus issue. So if anyone else encounters that answer is to add OnFocusLost event to WB_Inventory widget and on that get player controller and get show mouse cursor boolean and connect it to branch and on true add set focus node.

      I checked it out, and yeah, you caught it. The focus has to be brought back to the inventory after leaving the item prompt. I have plans to update the system based on requests, so when I do, I'll have it fixed. Thanks!

      Hello! This is a nice feature you have in-mind. You will need to create a map, where the item matches the ID(key), you can set a random quantity(value).

    Anyone else struggling with the InventorySlots not displaying inside the Inventory? The array is correctly accounting for the items that have been picked up but no matter what, the WrapBox Inventory remains blank, not showing the items or the grid. Edit: It maybe related to the Item Slot Array. The print functions from the previous tutorials work but when I print Item Slots, after the Get Validated Inventory Components within the WB_Inventory, it returns 0. Also, I confirmed it's not a Widget wrapping problem as I can insert text into the area where the Inventory Slots are supposed to be. Edit 2: No idea what I did different, just started all over and it works.
