Pool Removal - Disgusting SLUDGE filled pool removal
This week we remove a Vinyl lined pool that had seen better days.
The thick sludge and organic matter that remained was definitely a relief to get rid of.
Usually we get clean fill imported to site but the owner wanted us to cut it from their land to use to fill in the pool. In addition, this opened up a bunch of space and minimised the excavation required in future.
Though this did add extra time and labour on, it is just another way we are able to do things.

Unfortunately for this homeowner their pool and pool house were damaged when an enormous gum tree came crashing down. See the pics! I've always wondered why no-one has invented a flexible conveyor belt system for things like this - you run it from the pool to the street - you cut up the pool, putting the pieces onto the conveyor and they are taken to the street, then you reverse the conveyor and it carries the fill from the street into the pool... - shimples

In the US a pool is a lot of maintenance every year.. Also there is zoning and housing taxes that you have to factor in too. It isn't cheap.
About how much is this job
People have their reasons. I knew of a man many years ago that had a very young son fall into a pool and die. That pool was filled in/gone within a week. I could never imagine the guilt and grief that family went through.

Кто тут чем гордится? Ролик о проделанной работе. Не хочется заказчику содержать и обслуживать бассейн (я напомню что это не просто яма с водой), взял и засыпал, в чем проблема?

@@adrianbogen you didn't say it directly, but you clearly meant it. Owners don't need this pool and don't need to blame them with desires of other people. It's like going to a guy who scrap his old car and say: "Oh, so many people want a car and you're just scraping it."

Curious why didn’t you just burry that concrete under all that dirt?
You could run into settling issues, plus there could be things like paint or chemicals left on the pool walls, or piping/electrical behind it. Better to just remove it and put dirt on dirt.
What did you use to backfill?
