Pool Removal - Look at that SLUDGE. LIMITED ACCESS. Time lapse.

- This week we completely removed a fibreglass pool that hasn't been used in years.
Access was tight as you can see but everything went to plan.
Once the shell was cut and removed we sourced clean fill from around Melbourne and compacted it in layers up to 400mm with a heavy compactor and excavator. We finished it off with a 150mm top layer of recycled crushed concrete to give the client a flat, functional area under cover that they can use for years to come.
Now they can get the pool removed off the councils plans and enjoy their new space.

House sells, new owner's say:
"Perfect place for a pool!!"
IKR 🤣
It took me way too long to realise they weren't going to be cleaning a pool in this video
the first words of the title are pool removal lol
Ya was like.. whats that massive saw for??
Yea 'pool removal' isn't the same as 'pool cleaning'
Me too I was like hey that’s too much sand
Lol I was confused I thought the were doing a pool removal then adding a new pool but then I saw dirt being put in the hole so I'm like 🧐😱🤦♀️
All those who don't understand getting rid of a pool it's because you don't have one. My home has had a pool for 40 odd years. My husband and I used it, the kids used it, the grandkids used it. Then use of the pool became the occasional ten days a year. Pools are expensive to maintain not to mention the work to keep them clean. I would dearly love to get rid of my pool.
Exactly people dont understand they cost a lot of money to keep in good conditions
Getting that excavator in that tiny little space was impressive.
Way braver than most moving equipment past that garage. But looks good. I applaud the compaction. So few do it even working in street pipe replacement. Great job.
Improved with discounts! No more chemicals to buy, cheaper home owners insurance, no more smells, no more ugly views, no more physical effort to maintain and it goes on and on! Enjoyed, TYVM!
Could have achieved all that, AND kept the increased property value, by draining, cleaning, fixing, and leaving empty, but ready to fill n use by next owner…also increased equity for current owner…could also cover or fill with large plastic / styrofoam balls , 3-4 foot diameter, so no one falls in empty pool
@@rstumbaugh43 absolutely. It's truly insane to fill in a pool considering the value they add to the home. Not much maintenance to keep the pool closed. Not the wisest choice, but perhaps the best for the homeowner. I am flabbergasted about filling in a pool tho.
Day 4. The owner: "um, actually, we like it better with the pool..."
I got about halfway through the video before I realized you guys were removing the pool 😂 I was like "Man they're really cleaning this thing eh?"
I thought this was a pool cleaning video lol
It was when they started taking off the pool walls that surprised me
There is no way I’d loose a swimming pool for a car park lol 😂
This is an interesting way to devalue a property.
Devalue or a really cool way to make a greenhouse..???
Everyone's goal isn't to resell
Works Every Time!😜🤑
Exactly just leave it be ..???
@BlandSeahorse I'd rather have a greenhouse. Don't really care about the value
So they had a pool and now they have a patch of dirt and gravel inside a frame that’s falling to bits and filthy. Hmm.
Should have just filled in the pool area.Should have left the paving around it, and left the plexiglass in place.Shouldn't have added gravel. Clean it up, hang some lights, put some heaters in it, and you'd have a winter greenhouse. Now you have compacted gravel which will only grow weeds inside a frame. What will they use it for?
I just don’t understand why people would get rid of a pool I want one sooooooo bad 😂
Cost they are expensive to run and maintain
Plot twist - house was sold, and the new owners thought "wow, what a perfect place to install a pool"
Should have called... HOLLA YOUR BOY FOR THE POOL WORK.... 😎
If you know you know 😎
Haven't seen a pool removed before. That was a lot to get done and you managed to make it neat.
30 years later: We unearth a pool that was once filled in and bring it back!
I’m not going to lie but that kinda got me mad because I love pools
the pool was buried
It’s kind of sad watching a pool being removed from a property. we don’t know the reasons hopefully nothing tragedy had happened there maybe the owners want to make a new bedroom who knows?
I install inground pools for a living. It pains me to see all that hard work just filled in and forgotten about.
At the very least, it's being repurposed
But you know also how much it cost to keep them running.. If you don use them very much is a pain
Don't quite understand the intention. What should be the use of the new space with the old building over it. A greenhouse? A garage? A dancefloor?
Why didn't they just clean and restore the pool?
I bet their neighbors loved them after this... The noise, the piles of dirt and mud getting all over, the blocked street... I'm also fairly surprised that they didn't have a new/nicer pool built in place of the old one. Oh well, to each, their own I suppose. 🤷♂️
You fellas who tore out the pool and filled it in, you did a damn nice job considering the circumstances. Talk about a tight fit with your equipment and moving all of that fill. Nice work, and thank you for sharing!
it's better than having a flies, mosquitos, etc breeding ground. Not to mention it probably stank.
Excellent work by contractors.. especially the machine operators.. tight spaces. So many questions about the intensions of the home owners though.. i thought they were going to make a greenhouse out of it, but no.. the pool looked very savable.
Yeah so many pool leak.. here is a pool with no leaks so tear it out.. crazy..
Once upon a time i lived in place with pool , and it was amazing , that's the thing i miss a lot , what the hell was the reason to remove the pool? just clean it and use
Wow! That was pretty cool! I’d never seen a pool deconstructed before, or filled with anything but water! Two videos in one! 👍👍❤️
If the owner is smart, he'll use the space for a garden/greenhouse
why would he? for a greenhouse hed need to build a new one since it doesnt have a glass roof, also if he doesnt have the time to maintain the pool, i doubt hed have the time to maintain plants in a greenhouse. if the owner is smart, he'll use the space for whatever he needs the space for.
to grow some nice weed
сначала я думала что они будут чистить бассейн, потом что переделывать заново , в итоге они его засыпали, вопрос зачем❓❓❓❓❓ ☹️
So sad. That must have been a beautiful pool years ago.
I love the part where they clean after work.
like real clean not just picking after themselves.
Shame it was removed, I'd have saved the money and got it cleaned and restored
I only ask myself who would remove his pool 😒 people so dumb and have to much money for wasting it , i mean wouldnt be evereybody be happy to have an pool at home
@@brostylemostyle4651 the owners clearly couldn’t care for the pool or get anyone out to keep it clean or regulated.
You’d need all the right chemicals to keep the pool clean and healthy and if you don’t have time for that you shouldn’t own one.
Many of us were waiting for pool to get clean.
I swear 😭😭
I would have restored not removed, what a shame.it could have been a beautiful relaxing pool
In the UK at least, a pool is only worth having if you're aiming for the high end of the market. It puts the average buyer off because the maintenance and heating costs are too expensive.
I would have kept the pool and asked someone to clean it
I was impressed by the entire operation. Cleanup is important too.
ahaha i missread the title i think is cleaning 😂 aww i hope pool boy can clean it first before it get demolished
The next owner will dig to build a pool !
LOL the irony
A lot of people just want a pool in the backyard. And these guys are removing one.
So, it turns out that the owners of this house do not have the right to remove the pool simply because many people do not have a pool and want it in their backyards? Good logic, bro
@regular_pseudonym That's not what I said. I just said that a lot of people just want a pool in their garden and they are removing one. Where did I say they're not allowed to do that?
@@adrianbogen you didn't say it directly, but you clearly meant it. Owners don't need this pool and don't need to blame them with desires of other people.
It's like going to a guy who scrap his old car and say: "Oh, so many people want a car and you're just scraping it."
@regular_pseudonym Who are you to say that I meant it the way you said. Why do you feel annoyed by my comment? And what do you think to say about what the owners need and what not?
@@adrianbogen because you said bullshit, that's why i'm annoyed. Why you mentioned these "other people" if you don't meant that then? Who fucking cares what another people want in their backyard?
What an incredibly proficient job you and your crew have done!
I would have kept the pool myself
"Actually we decided we want the pool back"
Professional grade work done by true professionals. In my part of the States the driveway and walkway would have been wrecked along with pieces of brick missing from the exterior walls.
lol, I thought this was a pool rehab video - I knew something was wrong when they started cutting it up instead of treating the water.
same
Think i'd have refurbished the pool.
Yea, with what money?
So sad. I always hate to see a pool filled in.
Would have liked to see a pool turned into a greenhouse.
I’ve known only 2 people who’ve had pools in the UK and both have told me it’s expensive. It takes a lot of electricity to run the pumps and keep up with the chemicals
Yes, they cost a lot of money many people dont understand it
Wouldn’t it be better value to clean and restore the pool???
the most incredible thing was maneuvering those loaders around that corner where the brick column was without breaking anything🤣
Wow I thought they’d put a better pool on not fill one in . Man most Aussie’s would love an in-ground pool
Top class machine ops there, them boys are most definitely worth their salt
Was the black lagoon not adding any value to the home ??
I bet that algae has been in there long enough to be writing their own Declaration of Indepence.
Why do I feel disappointment and not satisfaction watching this?
Mate the pools cost a lot of money to keep them in good conditions, if dont use them very much is a pain in the butt
Wow 🤩 that was so cool to watch!!! Never seen an in ground pool removed before. 5 ⭐️ your work❤️So professional!!
The definition of “work smarter, not harder” 👌🏻
Imagine what it took to fill that up. Bucket by bucket with a mini loader. Tight spots. EEeeshhh!!!
Why not just clean it out and use it
a lot of people are getting rid of their pools now; kids are growing up and moving out, increased liability, more property taxes depending on where you are, etc.
@@kdegray having a pool makes you look luxury though and swimming in it is good exercise
@@dylanduffy1995 yes but people might not have the time to take care of it
If you ever had your own in ground pool. You know all the work that goes in to keeping it looking good. And the money you put into it.
Yup! I never wanted to be a pool owner. Unfortunately my house came with one. Its a money and time waster. My kids do like it though, so at least there is that...
I adore pools. Sad video
Masterclass maneuvering with that equipment and small area, well done!
Thanks. It was a very tight fit.
Holla at ya boy for the pool work.
Always sad to see a pool go. Great work though!
Why? Just why?
Alot of work to make the house more boring
20 years from now the new owner is going to dig that right up. They should have just kept it covered.
Why do you say that?
Dig what up??
Typical Sunday night video
Drinking a glass of wine, while chilling on this video... love it :D
💓😂
Sad when people own an inground pool and let it go to waste or just fill it in....
THIS! Exactly what I thought. Yes they’re expensive at times but that was BEAUTIFUL and honestly watching it made me sad as hell
Yes!! My thoughts was that it didn’t look like it was in that bad of shape. So sad to see it go, but maybe it was an older couple with no use for it. If it was me, I would do everything I could to maintain it and use it!
but why
Would have made a lovely greenhouse.
Imagine the things u can grow😝
Yep.
Can't wait to see the new pool when it is finished be safe out there
Love the high speed sounds... makes me smile.
Poor pool wasted 😢 why take it apart. Just Barry it ! Cover with gravel?? It could be a greenhouse!!!
Not everyone wants to or has the time to keep a greenhouse or a pool. Its simple
Güzel Bi fayans ta olabilirdi basit durdu cezbetmedi
@semradastan758 translate to English please 🙏 😢
So now they have a dirt room.
They have a blank canvas to do what they want now, green house, outdoor kitchen and bbq, guest house, ect
Would turn that room into a nice green house. Everything is all ready to go. But thats coming from someone who loves growing plants.
Did not knew that remove pools it's a thing, first time seeing. Interesting! If no one is using and only accumuling dirt, why not?
What a waste!
Well that was a waste, should've cleaned the pool and rebuilt the surrounding structure.
Never knew how to get rid of a pool, very interesting
You guys working so smooth and clean.
Well done guys.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Nooooooooooooo! Y dafuq remove a pool when it could have been so nice with a clean up?
If they let it get like that in the first place, they probably can't take care of the pool and/or don't want it.
People do you imagine how much money does it take to restore it? And how much money this pool sucks to stay in a good condition?
To drain it, clean it, fix it, leave it empty but ready to fill and use, can not have been that far off what they paid for all this work, and the property value, equity benefit etc..
This upsets me why would anyone want to remove a pool people should be counting their lucky stars that you have one! /=
Pools are expensive to run and maintain
Why on Earth would they want to remove that pool instead of cleaning it and using it? It was freaking awsome!
I know!! It's hard to wrap my mind around the logic of paying to destroy (about around) $90k indoor pool.... for half that cost he could've repaired, cleaned and maintained the structure and thus increased his property/sale value.
So it use to be a pool, now it's a giant parking lot
That would have been a great koi pond 😊
i mean, good job. but what a nice pool that would have been. all i ever wanted as a kid was a pool. a pool and a cordless phone. that's all i wanted. not much to ask for
Same 😭😭😭
🤣
Here in Brazil, an old pool like this. It becomes a breeding ground for the Dengue mosquito. The owner would have already taken a sanitary fine!
How about the venerable guinea worm? Or the notorious chigoe flea, aka the bicho de pe? Or the loa loa worm? Do you guys have those characters in Brazil? Amazing how such small creatures can cause so much trouble.
owners: casually removes INDOOR pool
Me at 22 yo who lives with his mom with no way to have a sustainably successful financial future and let alone his own home any time soon: *tears in eyes* ok cool I wish I had one
Same. 😞
You've seen Indian guys building a pool, now I present to you
Random guys removing a pool!
This broke my heart. I love pools why someone would destroy their pool... 😫
Because someone asked for it to be distroyed
@@Konte. you didn't understand the question is for the owners. Why would they want to destroy their own pool.
I would love an in ground pool myself but maybe they weren't swimmers or simply couldn't afford the upkeep. It wasn't in the best shape. Might also be new owners who have other plans.
how much did that cost?? i figured they would have laid sod or made a shed or something
Wonder what they'll use it for. Way too much gravel in that dirt so can't plant anything but grass in it. But the building is still decent so maybe a workshop, a BBQ/lounge, build some grow beds in there since it still has the glass walls, or pour a slab and turn into a guest house.
Holler your boy for the pool-work.
It's sad to think all the work in building that pool then all the work to get rid of it. what a waste of time and effort just to make it just earth again. Cool video I enjoyed it
Nothing 10 gallons of bleach could’ve fixed! Would have been crystal clear water
Great job, but whoever made the decision to keep that hideous above-ground structure needs to have some sense knocked into them.
Why ANYONE would destroy such a nice scene is beyond me.
Many people with pools get sick of them, they ars a constant money drain
awesome work! multiple small lifts and good compaction
I've found inground pools before while setting block for above ground pools. Its more common than you think. I built above ground pools for 14 years and I have found all kinds of crazy shit. Some worth money and some that are just cool and blows your mind that its over a 100 years old. I found a silver spoon dated from the 1800's. We had to dig 6ft on the high side and I found it under where my block had to be set about 2 1/2 inches under it.
But I just wanted it cleaned
Si es verdad para que lo desasmam todito si del verano que viene ahora que van a Hacer sin esa picina 😂
@@user_guerreronoob There is so many places where people can go and swim during the summer without the expense of owning a pool.
