Picking the Right Japanese Gel Nail Brand: A Close Look at Vetro Gels (part 2)
Do you have any information about what gel did you use for that blue china effect? Thanks!
In case you don’t have matte top coat you can use regular top coat and buff the shine off, wipe, and do whatever design you’re doing. Then you cure, and apply the chrome powder and dust off the excess and it shouldn’t stick to the rest of the nail because chrome tends to stick to anything that’s shiny. After that you apply top coat.
No difference
Oh dear, as a licensed nail tech, you need to take a break from gels, acrylics, etc… and any chemicals on them. They are too damaged and too thin.
I was told to use a 180 buffer for etching, will that not suffice?
i don't understand this method. what is that gold?
its called chrome powder
Why do you seal the chrome with primer? Just wondering. Does it help? What does it do?
I seal the chrome with primer so that it doesn't chip. A lot time if you just seal it with a top coat the chrome starts to fade out. Primer just helps stop that so your chrome can last.
@@pinkpineapplenails wow! Thank you so much for your reply and the great tip! I'm planning to do chrome nails next week, so I will definitely do this! Thanks and have a great week end
Can use eyeshadow it's cheaper and similar effect. List all products used! UK 🇬🇧
If I use chrome powder, I do the no wipe matte top coat and then I just wipe it with alcohol. Then I go in and do whatever design for the chrome powder, like normal and it looks perfect. I used to apply base/foundation gel on the chrome powder before topcoat, but now I use Reinforce Gel or strengthener. But wiping the no wipe matte, with alcohol, has always worked just fine and there's not much, if any fallout. A very small amount of chrome powder goes a long way. That's they way I've been doing it for over a year now.
I thought the point of japanese gels were that you don’t have to do all the prep typical of other gel products?
Japanese gels is an Easy Soak off system, meaning that they don't use Primer to adhere their gels making it a easy soak off system. If you don't prep your nails when it comes to Gels, your gels will be lifting in two days. All gels needs a prep system, whether it Korean, Japanese, or American.
No, this is how you damage your natural nails😭
Yes you can damage your nails if you don't know how to use an efile. Hence the reason why I showed 2 ways you can etch your nails. Not etching your nails and using a smooth buffer to buff your nails will lead to your gels lifting. 🤷♀️ How do you prep your nails for gels? 😉
Nis😮😮😮😮😊😊❤😂🎉🎉
Do you use the Leafgel Cuticle Remove as a prep step before. Gel application? I’m so intrigued by this product but not sure if it will affect gel longevity
Leafgel Cuticle Remover is really good, it softens the cuticle really fast. But I won't repurchase this product because for the price of the little bottle your better off with BlueCross cuticle remover. I do recommend that if you use any type of cuticle remover-that you make sure to clean your nails with alcohol before applying any gels.
Thank You! I also currently uses the blue cross. I recently learned of Kokoist and Japanese builder gel and not sure should I use the cuticle remover during the cuticle clean part (after the dry manicure prep part).
Yea the price point is pretty insane for such a small bottle 🫠
What kind of magic is that french shaping brush wipeee😱
Sloppy
Love your review subscribed!
Another method is to just slightly buff the matte top coat before adding the nail art 🍀
Thank you. Know I hope I can do it😊😅
I just discovered sweetie nail supply and I was shocked and how much product they have. I mean wow. Part of the reason why I just feel like Japanese and Korean gels aren’t worth it is the availability. They do seem to always be out of stock. I’m really excited to try Dgel potted colors and their art gels
Yes! I like sweetie nail supply as they don’t seem to run out of stock as fast but when products run out of stock it like WHY!!! 😅
Look beautiful
These are so incredibly cute 😭
So I’ve been having issues after applying the chrome and dusting off the excess, I then cure the chrome under the light. After curing it looks beautiful. BUT when I apply the top glossy coat the chrome particles get on the non chrome area and creates this shimmer effect :( how can I fix this???
Have you tried putting base coat first before top coat? I've notice that if you go straight into top coat with chrome it will shimmer.
Tip! You may or may not know this, but sharing just in case, with gel cat eye polishes you don’t need to go through the hassle of wiping it off or removing the polish, you can take a brush and run back over it and it will look like you did when you first applied 😊
Do you have any recommendations for an overlay for someone whose nails always separate with gels? Doesn't matter the prep - her nails always do this. Sometimes it'll happen within days and sometimes a week later. Ive been researching japanese and korean brands but not sure what will work best.
If her nails are separating, have you tried a rubber base before putting other gel products on? Looks like she might need more flexibility on her nails and a rubber base might help. Let me know if you tried this and if it works. If not, we can see what is going on. I had clients like this before but with these types- its all about trial and error with products on them.
Hey when you use the top gel- how long do you cure and when do you wipe off the sticky layer?
I usually cure my top for 30 sec and wipe off right away after coming out of the lamp. If you have an older lamp or a lamp that isn't as strong I recommend at least 60 secs.
Lindo 🎉
Why everytime i brush my chrome powder it comes off? (Chipped )
If your chrome is coming off after you cured and not sticking on then you may have over cured the gel. If it is chipping after you have seal the chrome then I recommend using the tiniest amount of primer on top of your chrome. This helps prevent the chrome from not chipping after you top coat the chrome.
What is the first color (base color) you applied?
the base color was color number DS119
can you please do a tutorial using the kokoist brand showing how to apply gel x nails
Yes, video coming up soon. ❤️❤️
I almost bought this but I backed out last minute! Definitely adding to my collection
YES!! I'm pretty amazed by it so far. It stays true to being a metillic silver. Now I just got to try it as a full cover color and see.😅
Where did you get the small silver beads? Also the crystals? Thank you.
silver beads you can get them here.... rb.gy/jnvfqp
@@pinkpineapplenails thank you
Where do you find that amazing detailer brush??
brush if from Nailzbydev - hella cute liner brush. 😊😊
Can I use 240 sanding band to etch the nail?
I wouldn't recommend a 240 its too soft and won't etch the nail enough to bond with gel. I would say at least a 150-180 grit.
This was amazing! I just bought some boba gel! Can’t wait to try this, thanks for posting! ❤
Nice! Could you tell me what brand are those? Can I find them in Amazon?
The brush that I'm using is by nailzbydev.com check them out there. The other brushes you can def get at zillabeau.com - Use code nalee07 for 10% off. 😊 It is the Izemi liner and Leafgel boarder brush. If you are on a budget then just search short liner brushes on Amazon.
You should try venalissa temper proof diamond top gel… it’s a no wipe, scratch proof, no heat very shiny top coat… They also have CANNI which is their sister brand that is HEMA free… they offer the same temper proof diamond top coat but Hema free!
I'm def going to have to check them out!!
Good Nippers & cuticle scissors cost upwards of $25 a piece… so I’d say it’s 100% worth getting them sharpened!
Yeah most definitely, I bought a cheap nipper 2 weeks ago and its already dull...😭
*promo sm*
Do u prefer Izemi or Leafgel base?
I still do prefer Leafgel over Izemi base just because of the viscosity. Not saying Izemi is any less just my preference.
Are Japanese potted gels better than Korean bottled gels for this reason then?
I feel like Japanese and korean potted gels are very different from each other. This is a good question, I was going to type a whole paragraph but I should do a video and hit on this. 😊😊😊
@@pinkpineapplenailsas a nail tech that does a lot of hand painted custom artwork, I’d be VERY VERY interested to see a comparison between Japanese & Korean gels. From what I understand, Japanese nail art involves a lot of hand painting which explains the highly pigmented formula. I have to ask, I use gel brands known for the best pigment, one coat gels, to do my artwork, if I don’t have a gel paint for what I’m doing. Would you compare the Japanese gel to a one coat gel here or to a gel paint? It appears to be much thinner than a normal gel and paint. Thanks!
What do u think about Fgel ?
I like Fgel, its one of my top Korean gels.
Leafgel says we only need to cure for 20 seconds, is this ok ?
Yea I say its ok if your lamp isn't that old, but if your lamp is a bit older I would still do 30 secs. I haven't had issues with it doing it in less time.
I’m going to have to check out Candy +. I’m the same way and prefer thinner base coat for the same reason.
I would like to try this so how do I get the product
head on over to Zillabeau.com to find chromes and top coats. Use code NALEE07 to get 10% off.
Please educate yourself about how dangerous using an airbrush for nails is. It may look pretty but there's nothing pretty about how toxic gel particles in the air, is.
🫡🫡 will do Dr. Know it all.
Goden product name pls
gold chrome pen from Zillabeau.com use code nalee07 for 10% off 😉😉
😐
Thanks for showing how to build extensions. Did you find that the no sanding base had good adhesion and longevity?
Yes I did.... Leafgel's no sanding has change formula since, so their no sanding is a semi hard gel. I tested it for about a week and I was very surprise at how it held up. Usually no sanding base chips and peels within days from my experience.
Its hqard to say... Constructive criticism, next time do the exact same design for each option makes comparisons for the most professional looking IS MUCH EASIER
