I remember well sitting in front of the TV recording this event on several music tapes with a tape recorder the whole night through. Timeless memory considering that everything is so easily accessible on CZcams nowadays...! Watching this in the retrospective I feel that every single band came there playing to win and did their very sweaty best to capture the fans. For me as a German (Hannoveraner) I truly would have loved to see the scorpions at #1, but have to acknowledge that without envy Judas Priest showcased what heavy metal is all about. They were and will always be the ultimative band in this game.
