You could do a mixture of all three. If there are rarer ones keep them or pass them on. I wonder if there are many kept like that in full sheets?

I’ve used Portland sheets. Those are pre-perf pages that work great, but can be difficult to center, but your design would work great since it has a clear border. I’ve heard that sewing machines can be used to perf pages too. Old perf-machines are out there but are expensive, but I’ve seen some websites on how to make your own. It’s a lot of fun, and I stick Cinderella stamps on my out going mail. Best of luck with Satchelland!

Nice episode. I also have a few stamps from New Zealand. I was aware you uploaded ths ep yesterday, but it was the all important night. The night when India prevailed over South Africa to win the 20 World Cup cricket in Barbados. In fact, even Graham Beck had gone and I saw him a few times on live streaming. Today, we had the International Asteroid Day cancellation, and our philatelic bureau was open a few hours for the same. You can look forward to the card I sent.

Hi Smokey, Nice video. Yes, New Zealand stamps, at least in recent years, do have high face values. Interestingly though (I think it was in the 1980s or 1990s???) they dropped the basic postal rate from 45 cents to 40 cents as they said that was enough. Oh, how times have changed! This is the only example I know of when the postage rate went down rather than up. 07:41 The $2 and $4 bird stamps are 'high value' definitive stamps. There were also other high value stamps in this series. I know there was a $1, $5 and eventually a $10. I think there may also have been a $3. In addition, there were some low value bird stamps in the same format. Issued around the same time, there were low value bird definitives in a smaller format. (The 60 cent bird stamp at 04:03 is one of those. They are a lovely set. As well as that, there were a couple of miniature sheets with these stamps on that were issued for various international stamp exhibitions. 09:28 This stamp is one of a set of 2 stamps that were a joint issue with Turkey (issued around 1998?) and commemorated the Battle of Gallipoli during the First World War. (If you want to know more about that, have a look on CZcams for a song called The Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Bogle. Get your box of tissues ready first.) 10:32 This is the other stamp in the Gallipoli set. 11:11 The $6 stamp may have been the rate for registered or insured mail at the time. These stamps are called postal fiscals and were used for both postage and revenue purposes. (I believe they were originally produced for revenue purposes, but were later authorised for postal use.) There are a lot of scenery stamps from New Zealand (as you can see). For quite a few years (starting in the 1970s, I think) they issued 4-stamp sets each year showing various scenes - beaches, waterfalls, mountains, etc. For the last few years, the definitive stamps have all been scenic views, so there are a lot to find. In my opinion, $2.20 for all these stamps was not a high price to pay. As Charnie says, look at the face value of the stamps. You probably have at least $50 face value there, so well done.

I enjoyed this episode very, very much, because it was about New Zealand stamps which I also collect now, and because I always enjoy your videos. 🙂First of all, thank you tremendously for the shout out of my channel!!! I cannot tell you how much it means to me. You are very kind and generous! At the moment I am at the stage where I sort large lots/mixes of mostly New Zealand stamps. My knowledge of New Zealand stamps thus is more or less what stamps I found in the mixes. I cannot give you much insight about the stamps you bought. Interesting enough I don't have many of them yet. I think the mixes I bought range mostly to more or less the 70s and 80s being the newest, and not newer as the stamps you bought now are. Also it seems to me you got the "middle denominations" - not the highest, but also not the lowest. I also have to presume the stamps are the more common stamps that are not rare. It sounds as if most of the 40 stamps are new to your collection, and I think that makes the price you paid worth while. However, one could buy larger lots/mixes of NZ stamps here on a local trading site, and e.g. at the Fair for relatively less, and then they could also be off paper. But then postage to you will be more. All in all, you didn't overpay, I think. Just think of the face value you got. I also LOVE those round kiwi stamps. Is that your first one? Those stamps were issued in different colours and denominations, and also on different dates over time. I also like the Dunedin stamp, and I don't have it yet. Did you notice how many landscape stamps there are? Landscapes are a popular theme on NZ stamps. ... Many revenue stamps look like the $6 stamp you showed, but I think revenue stamps can also be used for postage - but I am not sure. Awww, you must try to see at least one rugby game. :) World cup end games might probably be a good choice. Even if taking the exchange rate in consideration (at the moment about NZ$1.64 for US$1), I think postage in NZ is more expensive. Rates for letters and postcards at the moment are - local: standard, med - $2.30; large - $3.60; oversize - $4.90; international: postcard - $3.30; "normal" med - $4.30; large - $4.90; oversize - $7.20 (rates to Australia and Pacific slightly less). I look forward to your next video!!!!

'ARMS' $6 was issued in 1967.and these are OFFICIAL. I also collect New Zealand too from 1971 i started and have amassed a large MINT and used collection.

Hi Smokey, Mont here. Great episode, I wouldn't mind if one of the Satchelland stamps made on to a letter addressed to me at all. My one wish is that the Tourism Department of Satchelland creates it's own Satchel Paige. All the best.

Brilliant and what fun! When I was younger (long before printers were available) I also used to design my own stamps for imaginary places. Mine were very rare as there was only ever one of each stamp since they were all hand drawn. Sadly they have all been lost now, but I do muse on this subject every so often. You may have inspired me! I'm sure that all your subscribers will be clamouring for those stamps and I love the fact that your first issue is imperforate.

The first time I heard about places that do not exist and who issue stamps, I thought it was a joke! 🤣 But as you so nicely showed, fantasy places and stamps and fantasy philately do actually exist. Glad that my postcard with the special cancellation of World Bee Day reached you well. In fact, two days hence was another special cancellation for the International Day for Biological Diversity, and one today for World Blood Donor Day which you will see shortly on my IG. Tomorrow is another for Global Wind Day, and then on the 30th for International Asteroid Day. Speaking of Acolyte, I see that it is being streamed on Disney + Hotstar and was considering to watch it. Peppa Pig, I used to watch over at my cousin's when her youngest child and my Godchild used to watch Peppa Pig. It was fascinating to watch cartoons for someone who never did in his childhood, but preferred playing in the backyard with the fowls or his pet cat and dog :) I have postcards from Bahia too - there is a beach, a church too - themes I like :) Those were received I suppose like 15 years back ... must check!!!
