I've been thinking about getting a new work truck which will double as my driver and motorcycle hauler. I really need the utility bed for around our property and this Toyota looks like it will do just fine….

    My God man the little bike only has what, 8 HP to start with. So ANY aftermarket pipe you waste your money on will at best make a couple of tenths of a HP difference which most likely you will never notice. MAYBE another MPH if you are lucky. Yeah I know you can "feel" the difference...just like back when we were kids and attached playing cards to the rear spokes on our bicycles and got another 10 MPH out of them because of the motor sound. All you accomplished is to make more noise...just what this planet need from the humans. DUH!!!

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing Před měsícem

      Well geez Wally, who shit in your cornflakes this morning. The reason this exhaust makes a difference is it has a 19 mm head pipe on it. Yes, it is only 2mm larger than the stock one, but hey, where only talking 8 HP from stock here. So, with the Big Bore Kit, better air flow (much more O2 going into the combustion chamber) a larger fuel injector (again, much more fuel going into the combustion chamber) means you have to have a way for all of that combusted gasses to escape. So, we needed a better exhaust system, this one made a difference. Not just in performance but oh yes, the sound is so sweet. So, enough about performance or should I put up what that puny little 8 HP engine puts out now... Yea, I'll put it up. Here are the Dyno numbers: 12.08 HP and 11.74 NM of torque. I didn't do this to go faster, I could care less on how fast the bike is. What matters to me is where I ride the bike off road in the mountain areas around Chiang Mai, Thailand and to do it safely, it needed more Torque to go with that HP increase. Now I have it and I'll be the first one to admit. Honda missed the boat on this engine, it barely has enough power to get out of it's own way, let alone climb steep hilly single track terrain. You do what you want to do to your bike and I'm very happy with the way my bike now performs and especially the way it sounds.... So, let me know how your bike runs and what you've done to it to make it a "BETTER" machine, because mine definitely is better than stock....

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing Před měsícem

      It was on the bike when I bought it. It was used and I found out on two separate rides that it was not a good crash bar. I've never been one to really lean a street bike over and with this crash bar I hit the crash bar leaning in a tight corner, once on the left side and again once on the right side. That was enough for me and I took the crash bar off because of that. If I had of leaned really hard, I would have lost the front end as it was lifting it when the crasher rubbed the pavement. However, the guy I sold the Triumph to wanted the crash bar, so I gave it to him and told him the reason I removed it. He still wanted it though..... It was probably bought off an on line shopping network here in Thailand. Something like Shopee.co.th

My first trip to Thailand was to Bangkok and I hated it, felt a lot better about the country when I got out of there and started to see the rest of the country. It's best if you can get a guide to show you around and much easier on the pocket book... Be sure to check up on all the customs of the country before coming here so you don't offend the locals when you really didn't mean to. They drive on the left side of the road, so plan ahead on that. If you decide to rent a small motorcycle, take lots of video and still shots of it before you leave the rental shop, play it safe rather than them telling you later that you wrecked the vehicle. When you travel on the highways, stay as far to the left of the road as possible, they will run you over and not stop to check on you. We've got a 2016 Toyota Hilux Revo pickup in black, my wife loves it, I hardly ever get to drive it, but the dark gray is sharp looking also so I'm going with the dark gray color. We keep our vehicles in a carport unless we are driving them and with A/C in them, the heat isn't noticeable. The little lady won't let our vehicles get very dirty as we have a carwash real close to our house and it only cost 200 Baht ($5.50 US) and they do a really good job on it. Most of the locals learned on a manual transmission so not a real big theft deterrent here... I did a video on my TaTa pickup after I bought it and just like the Toyota Champ, I got a lot of comments that they would love to have one of them in the US. Not that my TaTa is not a good truck, but it is getting old, (12 years) and I plan on doing some traveling in the next two years around Thailand and I want to do it in my truck so I don't have to take the wife daily driver. I've gone to another dealer after not getting good info from the first one and there are lots of accessories available already for this truck and I got to see one in the dark gray. We are adding new bikes to our stable and putting them through as much as we are able to do. The Honda CT 125 bikes are still chugging along and now that the Gen 2 bikes can get a BBK it is going to be even better. Might try and get a Yamaha PG1 to do a head to head comparison but will have to find one we can afford. Putting El' Diablo through some mechanical issues as the new High Speed head and camshaft is not working out for me. Going to have the stock Honda head that had the Exhaust valve stem horn broken on it during the port job fixed and install it back on the bike with a torque camshaft as that setup performed the best for the riding we do. I hated getting beat in two drag races with the Gen 2 bike, but it did tell me that the HighSpeed head and camshaft was not for me and that I needed the torque setup that I had previously on the engine back on it. When I get that work done, Corey and I will be doing some more drag races and I believe the outcome will be different than the one he stated on this video. We are still riding, we are still shooting video footage, but I'm really busy with my property and most of my riding buddies are off on vacation right now so it's hard to just set on the computer for half a day and edit out a video... I know I need to do it, but I have so much work to do here at my property, I really need to do some of it.... I'm still kicking, I'm still riding, I'm still shooting video footage, I just haven't had the time to do the editing...... More will come, I promise....

      I guarantee you Japanese automakers would love to sell all of their products in the US market too. However, there are many regulatory and tariff restrictions imposed by the US government to protect US automakers, labor union, etc, which makes it extremely difficult. Toyota can sell at this price range because Hilux Champ is currently manufactured in Thailand. The design and coloring is kept basic and simple. And durability, endurance, and versatility is prioritized since Toyota wants customers to use the truck for their farms, small businesses, deliveries, food trucks, and daily work.

      Yea, there are funny little things about choosing the transmission. I'll need to check on this for sure, but the saleslady said we can't get the manual transmission with the short wheel base bed, only the Automatic. That doesn't sound right to me, but I did go to another dealer and that saleslady offered me accessories where the one in this video didn't. I also inquired about the color dark gray and she said they should be getting one in this week and would call me when it shows up. I'll take my GoPro with me and do another video on it with the accessories I plan on getting and the costs of it. Also, I have to consider the fact that my wife will be doing driving with this truck also and she doesn't really care for the manual transmission. Believe it or not, this engine with the automatic is very spunky and we have owned two Toyota Hillux pickups since I moved here 10 years ago. The one we have now is her daily driver and she really likes it. I'll know more later this week when I go back to the second dealer to do another video.....

    Hi, please could you tell me what pressure you run your Vee Rubber tires at, front and back, for various conditions - tarmac unloaded and loaded (with camping gear) and off-road unloaded? I've put some on my CT125 and I either seem to have too much pressure, and a bumpy ride or am concerned I have too little when loaded up. I emailed Vee Rubber, got no reply.

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing Před 3 měsíci

      No problem. Here is what we run for normal adventure rides without any loads on the bike but us. Frt. and Rear we would run 30 PSIG. We've since dropped that down to 25 PSIG because we run a 3.00 X 17 on the front and a 3.25 X 17 on the rear. Both tires are the same PSIG. When we do a trip that is mostly off road, we drop those pressures down to 20 PSIG front and rear. If I were to load the bike for a trip, I'd still leave them the same on both types of terrain, off road and pavement. These bikes don't like going fast off road and are not a rocket ship on pavement, so really no reason to be putting your pressures down real low. Now, on my WR, I'll put my knobs down to 10 PSIG front and rear, because I have rim locks on my knobbies. For my all terrain tires, I run them at 20 PSIG either on pavement or off road. Hope this helps you: Just a little more info: PSIG = Pounds per Square Inch Gauged. PSI = Pounds per Square Inch. With the 275 X 17 tires on the front and back, still no need to run anything over 30 PSIG, but it definitely helps if you drop them down to 20 PSIG for off road.....

    With the champ,i'd consider it as a budget entry truck with a low tray bed to be used around the town pickup delivery work and not really designed for off road use, hence the lack of 4x4 and bigger wheels. I think the champ will be very well placed into the commercial market where im sure it was the key role it was originally designed . it's a pity that Toyota don't sell the lc70 Land-cruiser, 4x4 to the local market ( Especially the GX edition) , You would really like one of those but they would be a little more than 577.000,
