- We take our Honda CT125's back out onto the rice paddies of Northern Thailand to show the harvest of the rice crops. It's not an easy living by any means, but the Thai farmers are so friendly and ready to let you learn about how they farm their land to make a living......

(!) So, after DECADES I learn that rice is harvested with the ground DRY!
I'd always seen scenes of the PLANTING - in a flooded field. And I had no idea
that the conditions during harvest were different. Thanks, Eddy!
It's not totally dry, but dry enough that the combine can get in there and do its job. Of course, a set of tracks instead of tires makes it so much easier......
Great video Eddie, always a pleasure to ride with you. This was a very fun day as it seems that everyday is here in Northern Thailand. We are blessed to live the life we do. Happy New Year to you and your family. See you soon.
We need to do a ride down town and take a look at the new 2023 CT models. I have another friend that wants to get one and go riding with you, me and Robert. He is tired of going fast with the other guys I used to ride the Triumph with and wants to do some leisure type rides. The CT Mudders is perfect for him......
Daniel slows down on the wooden plank bridge and gets 136mpg .
Eddie gases on it and jumps the little bridge .
I like the countryside rides and the agricultural views . We rent our small place now for soybeans, but I used to farm 🚜 it myself . A nice little Kubota combine !
Those little combines cut through those fields so fast, we just lucked out to have one dumping the rice on the path we were on and then to have the second one cutting the field across the irrigation canal was a bonus..... I do believe I could slow down some and get better fuel economy than I do, but I can do wheelies and Daniel can't.....🏍
You enjoy 😉 what you are doing !
So , gas on it !
@@richardduke9788 The good thing about the CT, it really isn't very fast so when you get a little more power than stock, it kind of gets the blood pumping faster, and at my age, it excites me......
Happy New Year Eddie!
Oh, merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family........
You meet the nicest people on a Honda. In Oklahoma or far away lands.
I have not met very many snotty people here in Thailand. Did you notice how the guy who had the pickup truck being loaded with rice, he waved me in so I could get a good video of it. Super nice people here. I love living in Thailand.....
Crap … there you are as a sunlight loving country Rat snake relaxing on the footpath and some rat on two wheels rolls up and pitches you out into the canal … farangs are noisy inconsiderate blots on the landscape …
That harvester, would it be owned by a cooperative of farmers or operated by a commercial organisation on an hourly basis? Having watched rice being harvested and threshed by hand in the not so distant past this is surely a revolution in rice production, much of it I suspect for export
@@Kathikas1 Sadly the snake had been mortally wounded by the pickup truck that had gone by earlier. Nerves made it twitch when I started to pick it up. The canal has crabs in it and the dead snake made a good meal for them. Such is life in the rice paddies......
@@Kathikas1 Actually both of the combines we ran into on this ride belonged to the two men who were operating them. Not a lot of people can afford one so those who have them can make a decent living when it is time to harvest in this area. Lucky for them, we have at least two full seasons of rice crops here in the Northern part of Thailand so they do a lot of cutting when the harvest starts......
Was it the drop in compression that got rid of the pre-ignition?
Or did it also take a re-mapping of the ECU?
The drop in compression is what did it. We did the ECU and Cam to get a livelier power punch and more top end.....
@@TeamDNFracing - It's interesting that you lowered the compression ratio, yet were able to increase the power output without bringing back the detonation. Good tuning!
@@daveinwla6360 The camshaft had a lot to do with the extra power and of course, we got rid of that puny Honda CT ECU and got one that can be tuned to wake this engine up. Why Honda put that ECU in there and then made it so you couldn't tune it is beyond me. But hey, I've literally got thousands of young minds doing for this bike what Honda and it's Engineers should have done to begin with..... Now we have to figure out what we can do with the 2023 model CT because they changed it to be a copy of the Dax and I'm not finding a lot of hop up stuff for the Dax yet.... Give me time, I'll have a new CT and build it similar to what El' Diablo is, maybe even better......
Who is Nick? Robert's Thai-Swedish son? Screen Actors Guild will be after you for not listing him!
Actually, his name is Mick and he is the son of Roberts wife from a previous marriage. Still, Mic is part of the group and you should have seen the fish he caught out of my little pond.... The kids got talent....... Since we don't pay any of our actors, the Screen Actors Guild won't mess with us, knowing we don't have any money to pay them off, they leave us alone..... Boy, have we got them fooled.....🤑
