  • While a subscriber was visiting from the US, his name is Sam and he is from Colorado. We did to head to head comparisons. One with the Honda CRF 300 and the other with Jonny Mac's Honda CT-125. This video is about the short ride we did with the CT-125 and El' Diablo my CT-143. Both bikes a very fun to ride, but the power increase we have gotten from El' Diablo is truly amazing..... Enjoy

      The poor thing, it sets in the shop with a blanky on it and never gets to go play with the other bikes. I've only taken it out twice, it runs great and the battery has never acted like it needs charged. It's been two months since I've taken it out, need to do that probably today. Those little 5 K runs are like candy to the bike, it just sets there and purrs when I get it back to the shop. When you coming back to take it for a spin around Thailand again? We can let you ride El' Diablo with some new parts I just had put on it.... It really rips now.....

      Richard, this was just the ending of the day ride with Sam and we decided to just do a side by side ride with Jonny Mac's CT just to see the difference between what I've done to my bike compared to a stock one. It really is amazing the difference in the way the bikes feel. Nothing wrong with a stock bike that a few more ponies wouldn't solve. Very disappointed in the Gen 2 version of the CT that Honda released as they have made it very difficult for us to find ways to get a little more pep into the bike. We now have two new riders in our little group and they both have the Gen 2 bikes so we are experimenting with them to get better giddy up and go from the bike. We've already shot several videos of these bikes so keep watching, the next few videos will shock some people...... Oh, the ladies dancing in the video are from my wife's aerobics group. I really love this video of her dancing a traditional Thai finger dance......

      The next video will reveal the ALL NEW LAZY DOG bike. A new bike, a new name and new plans to make it my go to OFF ROAD bike..... I'll be doing 3 phases of the build on it to make it unbeatable. I've completed phase 1 and early next month will complete phase 2 with phase 3 happening in July.... You'll enjoy the builds, but the head to head competition will surprise you.... Coming soon....

    Did you change the gear ratio on El Diablo? Someone online changed the original gearing on his 125 from 13/42 to 14/38. Other than that the bike was factory stock. The difference was remarkable, of course. He showed both versions climbing a rather steep hill. With the stock gearing, he sometimes had to use his legs and feet to help the bike climb. With the lower gearing, he flew up the hill. He wasn't concerned about losing speed on the top end because most of his riding was off-road.

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Ok, the stock gearing on a (2020 to 2022) Gen 1 bike is 14/39, the stock gearing on the (2023) Gen 2 bike is 14/38. If they changed to a 13/42, they will definitely gain a lot of low end power. El' Diablo is a 2020 Gen 1 bike and I've left the counter shaft sprocket at 14T and changed the rear sprocket to a 42T. We experienced trouble with the ABS lights flashing if we dropped to a 13T on the counter shaft sprocket. However, we have two 2023 Gen 2 bikes in our group now and both of them have the stock counter shaft sprocket (14T) and we installed a 42T on both of the bikes rear sprockets. The gain in low end power was good very good and they will stay with that setup.

    Hi Eddie, it’s Clive from Australia. Just letting you know that I got my new exhaust pipe the other day. Can’t wait to put it on. I’ll let you know the difference on the bike without the big bore kit. Just a new exhaust.

      Yes, I'm very interested to see the difference it makes on your bike. I had already gotten the BBK installed on my bike by the time I got the Murazaki pipe for it, so I never got the chance to try it out. Great and thanks for doing this. I'll be sure to include the info on an upcoming video of up grades we've done to El' Diablo.....

      Hi Eddie, got the pipe on today and what a difference it makes. A lot more acceleration down low and I’d say on a straight I get probably 3-4km an hour quicker. Definitely much better acceleration and it sounds awesome.
      Do you have a cam in your bike? And if so, could you let me know what it is and can I get it from Thailand?
      Thanks so much I’m so much happier with the bike.

      @@11148420 I've had two different cams in my bike. First one I had my mechanic install was supposed to be a Hot Cam with a low end performance setup. In other words, it was supposed to help with the torque down low. Not so much for higher speed. Since then and very recently, I had them install a new head as when they ported the stock head, they had chipped off a piece of the exhaust valves horn which is the piece that the oil valve stem seal goes on for the valve. This allowed the bike to let oil seep down into the combustion chamber and burn that oil. Not really a big deal, except after a couple hundred Kilometers of trail riding, I had to add oil to my bike. This was not acceptable, so I had them to try and fix it. After living with it for a while, I decided to have them replace the head with a new one and they suggested I use a head from a race company called Hispeed Racing. I just got the bike back from them and took it on a 100+ Kilometer Adventure ride and it seems to not be burning any oil and still has the same or close to the same torque that the Hot Cam gave me. The Hispeed head came with new valves, the exhaust valve was larger, it had new valve springs, and caps as well as the head was ported. Cost of the head was $100 US and the labor and gaskets set me back $40 US. I'm pleased with the way it runs, but I will give a full report on it in the near future.... I'm pleased to know the Murazaki pipe does help the performance of your bike and we are currently working with Murazaki shop to get a new Gen 2 pipe built as we have two of the Gen 2 bikes now in our group and a pipe would surely help with performance.....

    Eddie, would it be easy to move the fot pegs and the gear level forward? To just have more forward controls on it or would it be a lot of work involved?

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před rokem +1

      A torch to heat the metal up for bending and a welder for tacking things together and presto, I'd of screwed up my footpegs, not to mention trying to get the shifter lengthened. I'm afraid Honda has made some items tamper proof even for me, so I'm thinking it would not be easy as all of the foot peg stuff is bolted underneath the frame and moving them forward would take some doing.... I wouldn't want to try it.....

    does the 143 kit require a new exhaust? I just bought a ct125 today in CNX. I want to keep the bike on the quiet-ish side, but wouldnt mind some extra torque for hills

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Try it with the stock exhaust on it, if you see no improvement on the power, you'll need to get a pipe with a larger head section on it. You can always make one more quiet with packing on the end of the pipe. It may cut the power down, but not if you do it correct..... Hope this helps....

      @@coreykeller8676 Yes I did. However, when I first got my bike and then decided I better get some more power in it because it was a dog in stock form. There really wasn't very much being done to the CT 125. There were loads of BBK's for the Honda Wave 125i, but I didn't know at the time the two bikes shared the same engine. The only BBK's I could find were 143 cc kits for the CT 125. If I'd of known at that time the Wave and CT shared a common engine, I'd of looked for a kit in the 160 to 165 cc size that was for the Wave. When I decided to buy another bike and use it for most of my off road rides, I originally planed on buying a 2023 CT and putting in the 162cc kit. Once I found out that they swapped the engines from the Gen 1 to the Gen 2 all of those plans were stopped. With none to very little modifications being done on that Dax engine design, there was no sense in me getting a new CT with the Gen 2 engine in it. That is why I bought the Yamaha WR 155R. One of these days, I may pull my 143cc kit out and install a 162cc kit, but I won't be doing that anytime soon......

    What mods are you using

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před rokem +1

      I just may have the most experimented with Honda CT125 in the world. I have tried everything I could possibly think of to make this bike better. The list of items is very long, I probably don't remember a good portion of what I've tried. However, if it didn't work, I had no problem taking it back off and trying something else. I'll give you the rundown on what is on the bike now, so get a cold beer and a sandwich before you start to read the list:
      I've installed a "cross bar" on the handlebars, a "USB port" next to the speedometer. A "gear indicator" with the readout next to the speedometer. A "Rock Guard" for the headlight and a "Storage Rack" over the headlight. Current tires are "Vee Rubber" front and rear. The front forks have the "YSS front fork kit". Both of the brake rotors are "Wave Type Rotor" very similar to Galfer rotors in the US. The rear brake lever is the type with "Folding tip". There is a "Rack" on the downtube of the bike. I installed a smaller "Rear Storage Rack". To optimize the gearing, I have a "42T Rear Sprocket". I replaced the stock swingarm with an "Aluminum Swingarm" and for better suspension on the rear, installed a set of "Diablo rear adjustable shocks". When replacing the rear rack, it was necessary to remove the air intake cone attached to the large stock rack. "Diablo air horn" covers the open are vacated by the stock air intake cone. The rest of the mods are all related to the engines performance. It's a very long list. Installed an "SKA air filter", similar to a K&N filter in the states. Put on an "NUI Air Intake Horn" Installed a "143cc BBK, and a HiSpeed Head with valves, Camshaft and Valve Springs". The Head is ported totally. The "Throttle Body" was ported and the "Flutter Valve" was removed and a larger one installed. A "150cc Fuel Injector" installed with an "ECU from and MSX" then it was remapped for performance. Then we installed a "Murazaki full exhaust system" as well as a "Pipe Crash Bar" for the exhaust. To protect the engine area, another "Crash bar system covers the front of the engine area. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but it has escaped my brain.....
