  • Here it is, a BBK to fit the Honda CT 125 Gen 2 engine. A 145cc kit straight out of Japan and it is on the bike here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Watch the video share it, subscribe to it and hit the like button and then go get you one of these kits. The owner of this bike sent me messages for a month wanting to know the ins and outs of the Gen 2 engine and if a certain BBK would fit his new Gen 2 CT. I warned him to do his research on the kit to make sure it was not for a Gen 1 CT. The company he got it from swore it was for the Gen 2 bike and a trip to Chiang Mai's iTimgarage said if it really is, they could install it and prep it for him. Not only that, he got 11.6 HP out of the kit. Enjoy.......

      We are adding new bikes to our stable and putting them through as much as we are able to do. The Honda CT 125 bikes are still chugging along and now that the Gen 2 bikes can get a BBK it is going to be even better. Might try and get a Yamaha PG1 to do a head to head comparison but will have to find one we can afford. Putting El' Diablo through some mechanical issues as the new High Speed head and camshaft is not working out for me. Going to have the stock Honda head that had the Exhaust valve stem horn broken on it during the port job fixed and install it back on the bike with a torque camshaft as that setup performed the best for the riding we do. I hated getting beat in two drag races with the Gen 2 bike, but it did tell me that the HighSpeed head and camshaft was not for me and that I needed the torque setup that I had previously on the engine back on it. When I get that work done, Corey and I will be doing some more drag races and I believe the outcome will be different than the one he stated on this video. We are still riding, we are still shooting video footage, but I'm really busy with my property and most of my riding buddies are off on vacation right now so it's hard to just set on the computer for half a day and edit out a video... I know I need to do it, but I have so much work to do here at my property, I really need to do some of it.... I'm still kicking, I'm still riding, I'm still shooting video footage, I just haven't had the time to do the editing...... More will come, I promise....

      Corey is from Canada so we rib him about that and he is the one that stepped up and put the money down to buy the kit. Him and I were in communications about it before he had it done and I just told him to his research on the kit before putting down that much money on something that hasn't been shown on video to work... Glad he did it, we ended up with a new rider for the group and it now proves that there is at least one company that builds a kit for it.....

    I found it interesting that Honda released the XR150L at same time as Gen 2 CT125, I feel like it was a missed opportunity for a CT150.
    Price and power make the XR150L a better option. I'm in the USA the CT125 is over priced. XR150L for $3000 vs CT125 $4000, and that's if the dealer doesn't mark it up for the popularity fee. Someone in California paid almost $6000 for his CT125 thanks to the dealer markup.

      I still find it disturbing that they even put out a 125cc with such low HP & Torque in the first place. Then, to not put that engine from the XR in the Gen 2 was just a very poor business choice. That's why I bought the Yamaha WR 155R as my off road bike. I may be yanking the BBK and new head off of El" Diablo and either going to a 162cc or the 181cc BBK and a brand new Honda head and have it ported and a new torque cam installed... I need to have it rip on the bottom, not on top..... Should have never let the mechanic put on the Hi-Speed head.... It makes good power, but it's all on top and nothing on bottom.....

      That tread design comes from Vee Rubber, Shinko and IRC. We don't get the Shinko here, but the IRC seems to wear out quicker than the Vee Rubber. We haven't had the bigger front tire on until this ride and only Robert has it. Seems to work okay and the trail that day was very loose powdery dirt and sand. He had no trouble going through it and you can see that Corey was moving all over the trail with his stock tires.... They work good on pavement but suck on the dirt.....

      Our resident language behavior appropriate member, Natta, moved to Pattaya to be closer to her father. When he gets better, her and Shawn will be back up here.... Fingers crossed. That little lady with the big smile is Toom and her family owns that little convenience store where Robert and I stop for a beer. The other one at the end is the same type of place, got beer and ice to get it cold and a lovely lady who serves it.... We call these places "Mom & Pop Shops".......

    Thanks for the video and all the information on the big bore kit. I’ve never seen that setup he had with the seat and rear rack. Can you ask him if he is happy with the setup and if so provide details on where to buy from? For town riding it looks like it should work well when having a passenger and needing some storage. I do like the idea of single long seat.

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před 4 měsíci

      Which bike are you referring to? We all three have a long seat on our bikes, Roberts and Coreys are the same, mine is a Motolord model and it is easy to install and with it, I can still have a small rack on the bike. The rack is a K-Speed diablo brand....

      @nicholascroll8954 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Ah yes,I was too focussed on Corey’s bike to notice the setup on yours and Robert’s. Yes, if you could out the seat/rack on Corey’s that would be most appreciated 🙏.
      Also, in terms of value for money/fun is the CT125 still your favourite?

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@nicholascroll8954 I still need to get the info from Corey on his seat and rack, but that will be a while yet. As for the value for the money spent on my CT125, I've spent a lot because it has been and probably always will be the bike that gets the mods first for us to try to see if we like it or not. Currently, my bike is in the shop having some head work that I'm not pleased with being taken off and putting back my stock head which I was very happy with except the guy who installed it kept screwing up the valve stem guides, "we call them the valve stem horn in videos", because he doesn't have the proper tools to be doing the work. The guys at iTim garage where our BBK's come from has the proper tools and even a Dyno so he has rebuilt my stock head back to where it won't leak oil down into the combustion chamber and is just waiting on a set of new bearings for the camshaft before installing it all and putting the bike on the Dyno for a proper ECU tuning job. It should rip like it did before the Hi-Speed head was installed and then Corey and I will do another drag race and I'm pretty sure, he won't beat me this time.... These CT bikes are just a blast to ride, simple as that. It will always be a stable in my collection of bikes. Can't ever see any reason to get rid of it. Way to much smile factor when I'm riding it....

      @@TeamDNFracing thanks for your reply. Don’t worry about it if Corey doesn’t get back to you. I took delivery of my CT125 a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it as it is. Will start taking it on a few trails and after that decide what I want to do with the seat, tires and gearing. I also own a Versys 300, it’s been a little challenging switching between the two…. changing gears is the opposite movement and the indicator/horn switch locations are the opposite way around! It’s cruel to my brain but entertaining to others I reckon.
      Thanks for all the videos.

      Ok, here is the list of components: NK Racing camshaft, NK Racing header pipe for the exhaust, NK Racing Shift Pro ECU, (all of which were purchased off of on Shopee.co.th) We still don't know if anything from shopee is available for international shipping.. The BBK is definitely available internationally. It is a Kitaco145cc Light Big Bore Kit (Main model GROM(JC92) JC92-1000001~1099999) www.kitaco.co.jp/goods_detail_en/P212-1452050 You can buy it here: thai.webike,net/en/sd/25900452 That's what he sent me, hope it works for you. There is a forum on the Honda CT in the US. I got pulled into it a few years ago when someone posted my BBK video on it. At that time, we were just experimenting with the kits and not sure if we put what needed to be there and what didn't. When the Gen 2 came out, there was a guy stating that there was a kit available in Japan for the Gen 2 engine. My understanding was they could not install a larger cylinder sleeve in the cylinder because of how close to the stock cylinder the studs were that you attach the cylinder and head to the lower end. Don't know what Kitaco did to get around this, I've not seen the kit up close to inspect it, so this probably could have been out for some time, but this is the first one we've heard about here in Chiang Mai. Seems to be a good one, but is expensive compared to the Gen 1 BBK..... Hope this helps and tell all your friends about my channel. It does help....

    I have a Gen 2 and recently installed the 145 from Kitaco. I've watched your videos on the Gen 11 143cc so was interested. At first, bike ran rough but after about 200 km, has smoothed out. I do have the fuel injector for the 150 PCX and exhaust from Only issues it seems to have which I hope will smooth our after more km, 1) at idle, the engine seems to rev/idle in cycles, not very smooth and 2) in 1st gear at stop, it has a high idle and seems to want to move if the brake not applied. However, after about 30 seconds, it will drop down into neutral and idle down. Has the other owner of Gen 2 experienced the same? BTW, I am in the Philippines.

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Před 4 měsíci +1
