  • This video is actually the final weeks preparations for the Lampang Hard Enduro with a twist. Saturdays events were supposed to be included in this video except tragedy struck on the trip to Lampang and we got absolutely no video footage of the trip, sorry, but I really wasn't in the mood to film what happened as it almost cost us the entire trip. It's a short video, but pretty much lets you know what happened on the trip to Lampang. Next video is the Lampang Enduro itself and the problems we had getting all of the footage on my computer. Actually, we didn't get all the footage, that's why this video took 6 weeks to make....

I hate that on your truck. My 10 old van has a plastic cam cover, and plastic "Tees" in all the cooling system hoses. The plastic in the cooling system is like brittle dry pasta now.. touch it and it shatters. Every time I take the van on the road, I am expecting to be walking home.. I did enjoy the video though.. thanks for posting it.

Thats to bad about your truck. Did you have the engine rebuilt, or did you buy another engine? This reminds me of my uncle having a similar issue like that decades ago with a Mustang. He had a garage change his oil and they left the gasket from the old oil filter stuck to the oil filter housing and screwed a new filter with a new gasket on top of the old gasket and the car ran out of oil when he was driving down the road.

Very similar thing happened here. Mine let go at a stop light just as I was arriving into Chiang Mai. The engine died and knocked as I tried to restart it. I thought at point, the engine had bad problems. I turned on my emergency flashers and stepped out of the pickup and noticed oil dripping underneath it. Thought I'd thrown a rod. Had a couple guys on scooters help me push the truck around the corner to a safe place out of the traffic. Opened the hood and noticed the oil filter was a quarter inch away from the block. The shop did replace the screwed up crank, and all the bearings and did not charge me for any of it. Just had to wait four weeks to get it fixed. I'm a bit skeptical about taking it very far away from my house now. Just don't trust it any more.....
