THE curse of the manager-of-the-month award. How many times have we heard managers bemoan that after they began an afternoon by picking up a gong and ended it lamenting their team’s first defeat for weeks? Well, ‘the curse’ is, of course, a load of old baloney, as proved quite emphatically when Villa hosted Wimbledon in the 28th instalment of their 1994/95 Premiership campaign. Before the match...

I loved county cricket back then, my favorite team was Warwickshire, I used to keep a close tabs on all the players, I reall feel sorry for players like Ed Giddons and Dominick Ostler, Dominic reminded me of Carl Hooper not in style but in terms of potential, he could of been a good player but never showed his true skills, Ed was unlucky, I remember his first test for England and his last test vs the windies in 1999.I remember in commentary Sir Ian Botham kept saying he (Ed) bowled with rat power.
Hi Villa Boy! This is Steve Withe, Peter's son I was wondering if you could contact me please? Im trying to get some videos of Villa fans as we are doing a documentary on him and needed some footage.
The Spiritual home of Crystal Palace FC. Thanks for sharing this... COYP!
Amazed to see former Villa man David Geddes playing for Shrews...gave away the penalty.
That Hendry penalty must have been 5-6 feet over the bar,...an absolute nightmare for the poor chap!
Fabulous footage remember that one

Best we ever had
Ron Saunders should have stand naned after him won cups won legal
Best ever manager we ever had
When we should of built on Ron Saunders suses down hill after they did not listen , he said suses on pitch first and he did it , I was at oldtrafid 1977 then at Rotterdam 1982, he made me proud to be a Aston villa fan ,Brian little used Ron's way of making a team I still think saem , great manager best we ever had ,
Yes he gave us best day and his team won the European cup😊
Stylish strips, short-sleeved shirts.
Goal scored in the Leppings Lane end when it used to be a large terraced bank. (Before it became a death trap).
One of my favourite games ever, what an atmosphere, what a pitch.
Brian Little does walk on water love the memories met him a few times what a modest genius of a player
There's no such thing as a friendly when it comes to rangers 🤬
Amazing footage from over 100 years ago. Villa have some great history
I'm a avid Blues fan but thank you for the great memories villa Boy ❤️
I was at the game, just a teenager. It was the weekend after the Birmingham pub bombings. It was a strange atmosphere.
Typical Rangers bigotry and violence…….
Went to this as a Ipswich fan .I recall our left back Chris " PELE" Odonnal being constantly whiped for pace by Tony Daley that night.
When Arsenal wore this very rare yellow 3rd shirt, for the secondand last time Only.
What a great day Shut the Blues up forever I wonder if John Carew has took Prince William to a lapdancing club yet 😂😂
Football used to be so much better. The play, the kits, the commentary, the crowds - all of it.
i was 10 yes old and was at the witton end watching this match does any villa fan rememember the hill at the witton end ? i think the hill was there from 1920s -1976 when it was shave d off for new terracing villa lost0-1 too first division manchester city villa were back in the second division after wininng the third division title the previous season 1971/72 you see Leeds united (Fa cup Winners ) should have played Derby County(league div 1 Champions) they both pulled out of the charity shield so the fa awarded the tie to aston villa & manchester city instead (div 3 champions vs 3rd club in div 1) and villa won the toss of venue (villa park /maine road) the charity shield moved too a wembley final in 1974 between leeds united & Liverpool and its been at wembley ever since bar the millieuiumn stadium
Mate have you got anymore of grays boot room vids I'm looking for the Arthur Cox one it was a great watch. Where did you get this one from? Cheers
I was there and looking at this again nothing changes Blues only tactics was kicking Villa off the Park.Still Great to see Brian Little in his prime Trevor who ?? Haha 😂
Villa’s kit was simplistic but perfect
Martin Dobson , Class.
Always Scotland’s shame.
great video, brought back happy memories
We broke hearts on a weekly basis. Hated. Adored. Never ignored.
Villa were treated like shit by Greenwood. Shaw, Mortimer, Morley, and Cowans all should have gone to Italy in the Euros and Spain in the World Cup - those 4 were a ready made team; much as everyone liked Trevor Francis, he was never a centre-forward; he was just an outside forward but he got the nod every time. So many of those Villa players should have been playing for England between 1980 and 1982. Greenwood's problem, however, was Hungary. He saw Honved in the 1950s as being the side which formed the great Hungary side of 1953 and from 1977 onwards felt that Liverpool were the team to do the same for his England team. Problem was that Liverpool's players were old and past it but 1980. Neal was a defensive liability, McDermott was good but stuttered after 1980 and Keegan was such a busy fucker that he cost England a goal in Italy in 1976 and a goal in Italy in 1980 for pissing about. In the end, we bumbled our way to the finals, and went out like a light when we got there. Meanwhile the League champions easily turn over the West Germans who get to the World Cup final. Shameful. By the way, I'm no Villa fan.
Brilliant team; Cowans was a fantastic player.
I was there if Liverpool played for 3 hours the wouldn't have beaten Jimmy😂
Was there it was packed 57 Thousand in the stadium even Pele made a appearance
Andy was my hero, what a player. He left and we won the big trophys but u truly loved him and always will. Up the villa
It was so great back in the old days when it came to the trophy presentation. The Cpt went up first, got the trophy & lifted it up with so much pride & a sense of true leadership. Nowadays there is so much show & more show before the Cpt lifts it up with a VIP hand on the trophy at the same time.
Then came Wimbledon.........If platts penalty had gone in......
Villa Boy, Thanks very much for your splendid full coverage of a great night for Villa. A magnificent performance with Daley, Cowans and particularly David Platt turning in star roles-Inter unable to make an impact on the game with only Nicola Berti up to par. Villa with fighting chance in the return leg! Thanks for your channel doing credit to the achievements of this club.
Horrible place in the 70s for away fans, ...I can vouch for that
It's coming home 👍
Dear oh dear. Scotland's shame.
This was Brian Clough and Derby all over again the club making a catastrophic mistake that would take years to get over.
Wow what a great video. Ron Saunders built Villa’s great revival in the late 70s. Bring back great memories of glorious Villa back then, me in my teenage years.
Fair play rangers 👏👏 SOTV
Made up shite for tv cameras. I was ther, it was bad but after went to a nice bar near city. Please dont believe this nonsece. I know people who carry blades not knives. The people on this have been paid by TV camermen. No big deal. PEACE
Was at Highbury what an unforgettable day 19 at the time ...Good old bosco 👍✌️UP THE VILLA.
