A quite superb manager. Should have been the villa manager for 10 years after this and would have been if it not for Ellis.

No. Ellis sold all his shareholding to bendall in 1979.
He was even chairman of wolves in the time he was away.
It always hurt Ellis he had nothing to do with the club when it's greatest achievements were made.
