I remember that day at Highbury , Pele did a lap of honor before the game . Strange that both Villa and Ipswich lost , atmosphere at the end was unbelievable .
First time I've seen this interview and wasn't surprised at his comments. Such a positive and inspiring man. Most of his teams played better than they actually were on paper. I was sad to see him go.
Bobby Robson was a class act for sure 👏 Ron was tough, he'd been building that side foe over 5 years. Withe the final piece in the jigsaw. Pace on the break, one touch quick football and probably the first side in the league, a pleasure to watch them home and away.
I remember these days, what a side Villa had back then with the young Gary Shaw..The 80s were the days English football clubs dominated Europe especially Liverpool..I miss the old shity grounds and the standing on the terraces..
Great footage, just checked it with the Ipswich opening goal, a fairly modest cheer from the visiting fans, did many travel to Boro',...only seems like 2-3,000? Whereas Villa Army packed out the whole Clock End.....10,000? I think Ipswich were eventually undone by sheer physical exhaustion.
Yes ipswich played nearly 70 games and in last six weeks had fa cup semi, uefa cup semi and final plus fa cup replays and league matches. Would have won all of the competitions if they just had three of four more players.

Ipswich would have won it but they played nearly 70 games in four competitions.
But they didn't. @@MarlboroughBlenheim1
@@markmorrid8144 Yes, because they played too many games.
