    Never thought a pickleball video would bring a tear to my eye. Thank you for delivering the teammate message in the kindest, most honest way. Nobody’s perfect, even the highly competitive ones who have superhuman skills. In rec play, I’ve experienced the what was thats, that was yours, and where were yous. No one needs to be reminded of their failures. I’d love to hear a few let’s gos and next times. I dish them out generously. Meanwhile, I celebrate the little victories in my head and practice skills to become that partner that everyone would die to play with. Attitude is not everything, but it goes a long way.

    Name. and show how to hit the main serves that better players use. I've been playing about 4 months and my best serve is the topspin serve. I also have 3 others that are not real reliable yet, and are works-in-progress: low arc screwball, high arc screwball, one handed backhand slice. I use the toss to serve. I can get a lot of spin on the ball. I use the backhand slice for returns (I'm right-handed), and it takes a left turn when it bounces (it has to bounce). I love that shot.

    How would you instruct, what reads suggested to a partner for deciding if and when to rush the net after partner’s return of serve?

    • @thatpickleballguy
      @thatpickleballguy Před 4 dny

      clarifying question. are you talking about if... You and i are partners. and you're back returning. my court positioning would already be up at the kitchen, and you would run up right after hitting your return! is that what you mean/

    • @jerrywelsh3366
      @jerrywelsh3366 Před dnem

      @@thatpickleballguy I screwed up the set-up. My uncertainty and that of partners is when the other is serving, we anticipate a decent, deep return, what reads do you suggest for rushing the net together on the third shot. I find myself at times, popping the clutch inly to find that the partners third was weak and he stayed back. If I’m playing the third, I know immediately it’s decent enough to approach and get a jump.

    Grabbing the paddle tightly limits your ability to move your wrist and elbow joints, since a tight grip requires you to forcefully contract all the muscles in your arm that might possibly move those joints. Moving the paddle with a tight grip gives you more of a punching motion, one where all the movement occurs at the shoulder, as opposed to an elegant swinging motion, one using the wrist, elbow, and shoulder. A punching motion is great when hitting something with a fist, but it is nowhere near as accurate as a swing when you're using a paddle to hit a ball. The explanation for that difference in accuracy comes from a field (physics) separate from mine (exercise science). Thumb this up so this man gets the answer he was asking for!

    All you newbies have made it more complicated. Seriously I was playing this game way before it became popular. I’d played with bangers as they like to call themselves. Bangers just love to play hard hardly use the kitchen but know all the shots which I would say there all solid 5’s. I also was a referery in senior tournaments which is what the game was original for. Since the man that made the game named it after his dog pickles designed for seniors that played tennis and had trouble playing tennis due to mobility and it pickleball you don’t have to cover the space you do in tennis . I never became better the a bit above arrange my game is never consistent and no longer can play at all due to a broken leg in 21 so I can’t run . MISS make it simple stupid . It’s a statigic game Learn your opponent be kind don’t pouch meaning take your partner a shots it’s rude and pisses people off. I think it’s sad now your playing for big money I really do you tainted this beautiful sport that doesn’t matter if your a lawyer a doctor or a simple lady such as myself your equal in this game only ranked by how you can make all the shots consistently. All ages can play and I was addicted but all you content makers for money have tainted it trust me it was fun I loved it and yall tainted the game to make it a money maker I loved the people I met and enjoyed it for socialization and exercise . Just be kind to each other …. Uggggg

  • @allucht6664
    @allucht6664 Před 7 dny

    I disagree with the logic of #1. Your plan of taking the LONGER DISTANCE crosscourt SHOT is flawed. Your goal should rarely (if ever) be to give your opponent MORE TIME to gather themselves and plan for their return … and unfortunately that’s what your cross-court shot accomplishes… It gives my opponent more time to gather themselves and respond. Bad plan! The best you can make out of a cross court shot in that instance would be to try to split your opponents… But even that is a longer shot than going directly at your opponent.

  • @Yielar1
    @Yielar1 Před 7 dny

    Appreciate the suggestion but it's just too risky to potentially hit it out on the right side. Makes more sense to drop in the middle over the lower part of the net. Different strokes for different folks through right.

    funny how you were talking about Steph but showed a video clip of Klay. I get the point though. Start slow and accurately. Then progress into the more challenging. It's easier to get faster/quicker than it is to get more accurate when working at pace.
