#5 is huge, never occurred to me but makes perfect sense. I'm going to keep that in mind next time
Fantastic!
same
I'm a big proponent of hugging the line but #5 certainly makes me question that philosophy. Bottom line is that you need to be flexible and assess who can cook better in the kitchen.
@@thatpickleballguygoing that far back automatically gives your opponents a better angle on you for an aggressive dunk keep in mind what you are sacrificing for more time
I've started to keep some distance from the line and it really helps me. It's easier for me to go forward towards the ball than backwards.
Nice!
I have watched a lot of pickleball training videos and I think this presenter and his tips are by far the best.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
The Smart Glass videos are GOLD! Great addition to the content.
Thanks! Pretty amazing technology
Kyle! I really enjoy ALL of your videos, but I think this one is the most helpful - simple, yet very powerful concepts. I can't wait to put these tactics into practice! Thank you for posting!
Oo wow! So glad it helped
Always good tips. Will implement!
Awesome content! I can use this straight away!
Phenomenal as always Kyle. Thank you!
Appreciate your teaching tips! You always back up your strategies or techniques with great demonstrations.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad it was helpful!
Your videos are evolving so much. The camera angles, the animation, the content. Superb.
Thanks a ton! Thanks for watching!
I was thinking the same thing! Great job
That was probably the most informative video I’ve seen. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great stuff again, Kyle! I hadn't heard the 1 + 2 thing before (in mistake #3) or when to back off the line (in mistake #5). I mean, they both make sense, but you framed them in a way that I should be able to remember them now when I'm playing.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, a very high level production here! Great video with clear explanations that include quizzing, graphics, and right/wrong examples. One of most well done lessons I've seen. Thanks!
thanks for the kind words. Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Straight to the point with excellent editing and angles. Saving this video!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Great stuff
Kyle, you are a very smart & serious COACH! I really appreciate your analytical breakdown. BIG thanks! Now the challenge as a senior competitor is to think fast enough to implement your expertise. You’re the BEST!!!
Thanks! Glad its helpful!
Another great video. I could spot the errors in a few of these but the breakdown on how to fix them was amazing.
Thanks!!
ALWAYS looking for better ways to dink! Thanks ThatPickleball Guy!!
You're welcome!
Great video
Thank you
you're welcome!
HOLD UP HOLD UP. Nobody gonna talk about how bro has a pickleball court in his back yard?? Why can't I have friends like this?
Phoenix :)
He changed his middle name to pickleball as well 😊
Dude Kyle this content this so damn good!!! Thanks for continuing putting out this awesome content!!!!
Thanks for the kind words. Glad its helpful!
Nice left hand resets 💪
Great video. Miss seeing as many videos from you recently. They are always so informative. Hope you are getting healthy for pro tournaments again.
Still commited to 2 yt videos per month!!
Im working hard to create an online pickleball school! So im shifted some od my time to building that in addition to the youtube videos
I recommend all my new players to sub to your channel
Good advice and simply and well delivered 👌
You make understanding the technics you show very easy to digest
Thank you! Glad they're helpful! And thanks for recommending to others.
Yeah, I really like this guy's stuff.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great tips! I wish I watched this yesterday. I was hugging the line and got slammed. Afterwards I was thinking I should have taken a small step back. Thanks for confirming!
Glad it was helpful!
Graphic note: swap b and c in the Pythagorean triangle @ 1:03 Pickleball note: great tips.
Ahh yes next time!!
I spotted mistakes 1,2 and 4 😎 ... #3 was a really interesting one 😁
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic tips!! I loved the one about speeding it up in front of you. I sometimes speed it up cross court thinking that I’m creating a triangle effect for my partner. Hahaha then I would think “I’m really setting them up for a winner. Why aren’t their hands faster? 😂” Wonderful video as always!!
Totally get it!! Thanks for watching. Glad it helped
I'm curious as to what paddles everyone is using? Great video as usual.
Here’s the paddle I use. It’s the “power air” www.selkirk.com/products/vanguard-air-s2?variant=40179483344998
Note, I specifically use the “prestige color.” I haven’t run a test on this, but I think it has a little more spin than the other power airs. :)
If you’re looking for a less expensive option, I’d go with this one - www.selkirk.com/products/slk-halo?variant=39964829188198
And, I prefer the “power” version. It still has very good touch, in my opinion, but has a little extra pop :)
If you go with either of these use my code, “ADV-thatpickleballguy” and you’ll get a digital gift card toward a future purchase.
The 1+2=3 thing was baller
may I ask, what video glasses do you use to film the videos?
Yes i was using the meta rayban glasses
@@thatpickleballguy thanks for the tip and great instructional videos
The math in this video is insane!
hahha yes!!
Enjoyed video. You certainly have nice, tolerant friends, haha!
I do! Theyre incredible for helping me out
As an aspiring CZcamsr, what is the best editing app
I like final cut pro
I never thought about dinking of being a math equation like that is actually really smart to think about!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@thatpickleballguy only question would be what about balls that you get out there air? Like if they hit an aggressive dink but can hit it out the air so you still dink it back?
They got the Pythagorean Theorem wrong! The formula is indeed , but this is when "C" represents the hypotenuse in the triangle. In their diagram at 1:02 , "b" is the hypotenuse. So if "b" is the hypotenuse, the formula doesn't work!
Dang it! I messed up. But i didnt mess up the hypotenuse distance. It is 24.41
I keep seeing courts like this in backyards with cinderblock fences. Where can I get a back yard like this hah. But seriously though?
I’m phoenix :)
Good pickleball points, but let's get the math right. 🙂 Based on how you labeled the sides in your diagram, a**2 + c**2 = b**2. If you want the traditional equation, the hypotenuse should be "c."
The humor 😁😁
Glad you enjoyed it!
The theorem is wrong 😢. According to the picture , it should be a^2+c^2=b^2
Yep, Pythagoras would be disappointed 😢. The hypotenuse is c not b!
Dang i really thought i nailed it
@@thatpickleballguyto be fair, I didn’t notice the mistake. The math was still valid.
His math was correct, but his first diagram was mislabeled. Geometry teacher here. I might use the video in class with the question, what did he get right and what did he get wrong?
@@thatpickleballguy Hey Kyle, first of all, the video is great. However, the math section seemed unrelated to the main topic. I realize I shouldn't have viewed it from a math teacher's perspective.😀
Thanks again for these great content.
Number 3 is big for me. I was getting attacked cross court and kept fighting the 2 with 2.
Good realization!! It was a big one for me too when I first realized it.
I did a 3.0 competition this weekend. I wish we could do the stuff you're talking about. No one at this level even dinks. We barely got into any dink rallys!
Hopefully it will get better for you as you continue to play and move up!
Please check the math on this video, on Pythagorean theorem the long side should be c and you have it labelled b
Yeah, i messed up 🤦
#1 Favour the cross court dink and #3 play a shallow dink to the middle… are somewhat contradictory.
One is when youre off balance and one is when youre on balance
I can see these tips as being of value to 4.0+ players but not for plodders like me.
Pythagorus would be pleased.
that's a good thing.
I disagree with the logic of #1. Your plan of taking the LONGER DISTANCE crosscourt SHOT is flawed. Your goal should rarely (if ever) be to give your opponent MORE TIME to gather themselves and plan for their return … and unfortunately that’s what your cross-court shot accomplishes… It gives my opponent more time to gather themselves and respond. Bad plan!
The best you can make out of a cross court shot in that instance would be to try to split your opponents… But even that is a longer shot than going directly at your opponent.
The real problem is the 2 partners are not together, one was at one sideline and the other was on the other side leaving the middle open
I thought mistake #5 was not following the ball. You didn't move closer to side line. You sat near middle.
Oo could be that as well!
That was my thought, too... his partner was pulled a liitle wide, but Kyle doesn't move over to cover, especially in the explanation part.
First problem, partner wasn't coming over to cover middle.
You've become more verbose. You got good stuff to share. Less is more.
Ill work on it :) thanks for the feedback
