@@thatpickleballguy Not all players will drive it around the netpost because there's a chance of just slamming the ball straight into the post going for a risky shot around the post but usually instead of trying for the risky shot some players will either dink or chip or slice back the ball or aim instead at the middle at lowest point of the net when pulled all out wide all out of position off the court or just throw up a high deep lob to give themselves
time to get back again in the court..

The clip you illustrated to show how good THOMAS WILSON is at defending the ATP by “dropping diagonal” then “sending it cross court” at 4:17 … is actually Zane Navratil defending some rando’s (Brendon Long, maybe?) ATP.

Hey do you have any paddle recs? I'd like to have a paddle that gives lots of spin as I come from ping pong and play off spin well.
Selkirks new 006 probably has the most spin of any selkrik paddle.

I'm curious about the legality of just shadowing the player who is about to hit the ATP all the way out of bounce and essentially "blocking" the shot almost like a hockey goalie. It's debatable but it seems like there are really a limited number of places you can go with the ball while hitting an ATP. Could it be a decent play? I tried it the other day but did not return the ball in play.
Yeah a few players have done this on occasion. If the player about to hit the ATP is going at a backward diagonal angle, i think its a smart play. If the atp is parallel to the net, id advise not doing it. Unless youre hand eye coordination and reaction speed is world class
