Deworming Kittens: How to have a Healthy Cat
zhlédnutí 138KPřed 12 lety
Deworming cats or kittens is important. Kittens can be born with worms transmitted from their mother. Most of the time we won't see them in the stool. This is why deworming is so important at a young age. Most deworming programs start as early as 2 - 3 weeks of age. De-worming kills the adult stage of the worm. As eggs hatch, additional deworming is necessary. For this reason, your veterinarian...

Pet Care: Demodex (a common mite found in dogs)
Yesterday I took my dog to the SPCA for a wellness check and to look at a bump at the edge of her ribcage and between her nipples. The vet said it could be lipoma, a hernia or a tumor. It's about 3/4 inch. She asked how aggressive I want to be with this because my dog is the kind that want to bite during wellness checks and requires sedation starting the night before appointment. She was muzzled and wiggly and only one vaccine was given which took multiple jabs because she was jerking all over the place. My dog is a demon really. Anyway, I still don't know what the bump is and she acts wild as usual so we are just watching it. I feel like she will have to be shot with a dart like a wild animal or zoo animal before any treatment can happen. What a mess she is. She was on trazadone and gabapentin starting the night before and then again two hours before appointment.
Took my girl over to the lake since they don’t have dog pools. To relieve her of the pain by letting her float while holding her. Decompresses the whole body.. Poor baby doggies💝
Processed can food. 100%
What commercial cat canned foods do you recommend? Rawz, instinct etc etc etc???
Wow feels missing out on a lot of info since I dropped here too late. Can someone please guide me if using a single use toothwipes any good?
Instead of showing us pictures of healthy cats it would have been better to see examples of real cases
Nooooo!! NeVER dry pill a cat!! Please remake this video amd advise people to coat the pill in either half a pill pocket or some butter and follow the pill with a treat, canned food or water. Also, dont just pill and run. Stay with your kitty in a closed room for a bit, have the treat and a massage session or play. Get them relaxed and not thinking about the pill before you let them go and it will be easier next time. Dry pulling is aweful, can lead to esophageal structures with some meds and will likely lead to not being able to pill your cat. Reme.ver how it felt when you've gotten a pill stuck in your throat? Yuck. No fun, painful. There are better ways.
Thank you for the video. ❤
Why not say what the treatment is? Waste of time.
The video was produced early in the pandemic to address the question "Can my cat get Covid 19", hence the title of the video. There was no treatment at that time. Best to talk to your vet in person so they can diagnose regarding specific symptoms. If you are looking for a "cure", we suggest googling "Cure for Covid-19 in Cats" for the latest updates, in addition to talking to a veterinarian. As with humans, this area has had a ton of research and discoveries since 2020.
I’ve had my dog (simba) since 2011. He was always a ball of energy jumped 6 ft fences his whole life, climbed every tree in my yard in chewed on them until I had to get them cut down… Now he’s a old man and I’ve noticed him folding up like a lawn chair when he tried to walk up my two porch stairs.. or swaying left to right when trying to walk … it’s sad😢to see him fading away.. I’m pretty sure his hips are going/gone out… I don’t even know why I wrote this.. just sucks that they only live this long
How can I know the difference between pantelleria laxation and ccl injury my dog is 9.5kg age 11yrs
I have deep fear over my dogs lumps. Have been told by vets that they are all likely lipomas. But I can’t afford to get the tested or even removed.
I’m quoted at minimum 250$ per lump. It’ll be over a grand just to remove without testing
My dogs hips pop when she jumps and gets up to walk.
Who's here on 2024?!
Meere!
There’s no need to pull back. You’re injecting into fat
I got it on my face from the dog. I had to dig a couple out. It felt like little critters were waving their arms around, several times per day. It must be horrible for the dogs with multiple hot spots at once. Wormwoood rid her of worms. She's a pupster. Have gone after the bumps, opening them, after spraying them down a day or two prior, with a treatment. Immune compromised? I stopped feeding her kibble. Now she eats egg fried in olive oil for protein, and veggies, fruit galore. Beef when we have it. Boiled small potatoes. No longer the enormous, stinky, continuous poops from non-nutritive kibble filled with barley, etc.

There is nothing you could do for a hip dysplatic dog. Surgery costs huge 3 lakhs in India. Only thing you could do is provide joint supplements , pain killers can't be used for long so only supplements
nice khemo commercial but I prefer using cannabis oil. It's much more effectiv.
Yeah I can see that most of the vet I see are hungry for money
Not helpful at all
Yo
I have an older German shepherd going on 15 and she pisses herself and won’t get up for 10-20 minutes. She extends her claws and just scrapes the floor. Not sure if it’s hip displasia or something else.
Mine did the same thing for about 3 weeks. I wondered why she did that. I took her over to the lake since they don’t have dog pools. To relieve her of the pain by letting her float while holding her. Decompresses the whole body❤
Also, I have to life my Shepherd up so she can relieve herself. N man oh man she peed soooooooooooooo much one to her outside..poor babies huh💝

Gtfo... 😂 With that "much" brushing, you might as well not do it at all. Ridiculous... 😅
When I try brushing my dogs teeth she just start shaking her head lmao
Does aspirating a lump, seed cancer if it is cancerous?
Hello dr 10 yer help me
Be careful with biopsies, if a tumor which has a fragile outer layer, it can cause the cancer if it is cancer to spread in the tunnels where the needle 💉 went deep into 😢 My friend made the mistake of doing a biopsy and now her beloved dogs cancer has spread 🥺
Thanks!
is it okay to just use a normal toothbrush instead of specifically a canine one?
I don’t know what you mean 😪
Very helpful
Thanks doctor Mike
Wish I would have watched this first. I tried to move too fast and my dog will do whatever he can to avoid it, and will fight me every step of the way. Hopefully I can figure out a way to convince him that brushing his teeth is not killing him. Which seems to be his mentality for now.
My fat is a fatass, he eats it when i drop it in his food lol
Yes and thousands of dollars later...😢 veterinarians are up there with Lawyers and Dentists. Not saying services should be free, but how do they sleep at night knowing their mark ups?
I have a frequent cat visitor who loves me and kneads on me. I have it right now, and will not let him, approaching him with a mask on and socks on my hands. He's not my cat. I can't just ignore him. I'm worried.

super helpful! Thank you :)
my little nugget at home is adorable but boy his breath is the embodiment of death. Very helpful video
Biopsy not necessary if the animal responds to intervention. My dog has it, had stress induced diarrhea while boarding at the kennel that wouldn’t go away with the usual bland diet of chicken and rice, three courses of metronidazole, started prednisone, and he responded very well, but had side effects from the steroids so we stopped it after three days. Prescription food that was high in fiber, had added pre and probiotics, lomotil, and slippery elm finally did the trick. I noticed some blood in his stools on a few occasions, but that has cleared now too. I highly recommend trying the slippery elm powder, it’s completely safe, often used in horses for GI problems and was recommended by my friend who is a large animal vet and owns horses herself.
