So the idea is to have the velocity stack in front of the throttle? But F1 cars still have the throttle bodies in front of the velocity stack. You could basically mount a flat plate in front of them and use it to close all throats. Opel made an engine with a throttle plate to block just one intake valve in a 3 valve cylinder. So I could understand if you move the plate close to the valve where the flow is disturbed anyways.

CAI May be used and can have some cons in car without turbo or IC. My 330Ci'04 got cold air intake from factory part of front bumper put air to brake Channels and part of it put air into air filter Space. Basically BMW intakes are designed great.

the fun thing with a Nissan Micra k11 is that you can fit a cone filter directly on the throttle body without having to cut the hood, thus making the shortest possible ram intake. its also placed on the centerline of the hood so it works well with a hood scoop. xD

i have a injen CAI on my 14 mazda6 and a FSWERKS CAI on my 06 Focus. Both gain torque over all but especailly at higher rpm. i recently smogged both and had to add the stock intakes back on for the test and its a night and day difference.

I think they are best used for racing when u first open 2:56 the trottle plate say 20 %open there wont be much change all the way to say 80% this making more power faster off each turn in the track . Meaning 20% trottle = or close to the same as 80% trottle if u have ever drove a car with this set up u will notice immediately that there is no difference between 20% throttle and 80% so even trying to drive around slow is Almost impossible!!

I wouldn’t waste my time and money on any cold air intake,they are only for looks and sound and have been proven in most cases engines actually loose power instead of gaining power on naturally aspirated engines.
