One of the big advantages to buying a house used to be the tax deduction on interest, but not so much now because of the IRS standard deduction, which lets everyone take a $29,200 (married couples) standard deduction. Not sure why the government would do this, as it used to encourage home ownership.

How do you connect the PVC pipes
For 1-1/2 inch PVC, I take a ~7 inch piece of 1-1/4 PVC, cut a 1/2 inch slit in it longitudinally, compress it to slide into 1-1/2 inch rails, then secure with short countersunk screws.
Nice video
I wish I had one of these
Hey, this might be a little late, but which type of pvc is better to use for a roller coaster; sch 40 or 80?
Well schedule 80 PVC is thicker, and so it's stiffer and stronger, so that's better. But it's more expensive. I usually recommend all schedule 80 for adult riders, but I think for child riders, schedule 40 is OK, but use schd80 in the highly loaded sections.
@@PaulGreggBYRCThanks! How many pounds would you say sch 40 can hold?
@@gergaplayz8584 50?
Depends on loads too.
Do you think that sch 40 can still hold adults? I’m kind of on a low budget here and can’t find any ways of bending sch 80 anyway.
Correction - with the new standard tax deduction, the interest on a home loan isn't as big a deals as it once was. Funny that the government took away one advantage to home ownership.
Where can i buy a 3d cart
Maybe a roller coaster company, or Alibaba, with a track, for a lot of money? These light carts are unique designs. Or DIY.
Glad to see someone is teaching this valuable info! I wish they had taught more classes like this when I was in high school, namely what should you do with your money once you start to have some at your disposal.
Cheaper then most hotels😊
Stocks are the only way to go. Please upload more amazing roller coaster videos
Besides a house, probably. I do think we might see a downturn in the stock market soon. But I was speaking long term.
Thank you friends they watch roller coaster
Just curious but have you ever tried using a 2" forstner bit? I was thinking that you could probably drill all the way through. If it wasn't deep enough you could use a short drill extension. Not sure if that's really a good idea or not. Any thoughts?
Worth a try probably. I believe a forstner bit chews all of the wood away, more violently, whereas a hole saw removes a relatively small amount of wood. So the final hole saw surface might be more consistent, and have less edge breakout. I would want to clamp the wood better with a forstner bit. More risk of injury.
Thanks Mr.Gregg!
Comments are working. It's illegal to use compressed air or gas with PVC, so individuals may get away with but it's school/college/STEM/FRC prohibited. Must have a metal chamber.
They need a gopro view on one of them!
I have seen overhead views of this, and it's amazing.
@@PaulGreggBYRC Amazing!!!
Hi Paul! Just bought the backyard rollercoaster files. Anything new in that regard? Do you still have one in your backyard? One of your videos you mentioned moving and dis-assembling. Do you ever allow for visitors? Thank You-- Nathan.
I,ve done a lot since then, on specific issues, but have not published. I try to make videos of new work. First three were taken down when we moved. We have one at our new location, which skims across the lake. I don't think PVC and wood is a long term BYRC.
@@PaulGreggBYRC Love the lake one!! What's BYRC, sorry my ignorance? Oh BYRCoaster, duh. I got it. I hear yah, I'm not looking to make it last forever - probably not safe enough for me to guard haha. But I did see some steel-looking ones which are pretty neat.
Genius.
Paul has gone aquatic!
How do you make the cart able to turn?
Looks at more of my videos. Or the one nighthawkinlight did.
How do you get the wheels to turn?
Nice video. Could you make an apsfds ( Armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot ) round for it ? Maybe with like an crossbow bolt.
Hey!! Would you sell 4 wheel green trucks if I paid for them and shipping? I’m building a coaster with my girlfriends little brother and we are recreating our wheel system, and need a wheel bogie instead, but neither of us know how to weld and our only option is to find someone who can make them that we can buy them off of.
I don't think I would, for liability reasons. But, a Harbor Freight 125 flux welder is like $100. That's where I started. Also get the HF thin-blade metal cut off saw and protective helmet/clothes. Maybe a weld table too. Watch some welding videos, and learn a new skill. Or find a friend who knows how to weld.
that cool
Definitely needs a launcher to hit the incline up. That'd be golden!
Just install an incline chain system and you're golden!

Great video. I'm building a roller coaster myself and I keep running into the problem of the track sagging to the sides with only one post in the center of the ties. How did you fix this because I noticed you only have one as well.
I'm not quite following you. What is your track gauge? Are your ties 2X4 wood? Is the wood sagging? How heavy is your rider, and what is your force, in g's?
Hi Paul! Cool bug 😃 I sent you a message recently on your website contact form, I'm building a BYRC and I would love to have a chat with you if you are available at all. I'm working out the math to make the coaster smooth in the sense of continuous first derivatives and I'm wondering if you've already thought that through. I also want to know if there is anything I can contribute to your research perhaps by testing something All the best, Mike
Knowing that an abrupt transition from straight to curved track will cause a theoretical "Jerk", and knowing that when hot-sand forming PVC the ends turn out straight for a few inches then transition to curved, I use this to make the ride a little smoother at transitions. I thought I answered your email, but I might have pasted the wrong address. I'll forward it again.
Hi, gregg! Would you mind sharing the dimensions in lenght of the 3 parts (purple, blue, red) at 7:39?.
Those sections of track are about 10 feet long, which is the nominal length of PVC pipes. I think this track gauge was around 16.5 inches.
I'm getting tired just watching you. you gotta add some sort of automatic lift to that lift hill. I don't think you can keep up with them
It's good exercise, much cheaper, and assures adult supervision.
They gotta enjoy that while theyre young!!👍👍😁🙄❗❗
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
