  • We have a unique property, with 700 feet of waterfront on a peninsula, with lots of overhanging trees. I spent the winter building these custom little houses reflecting the homes of the animals in "The Wind in the Willows." The houses light up in the evening.

hey mr.gregg! i’m looking at starting a business when i get the money to based on building backyard roller coasters. since you have some experience, what is the market like? do you make a large or small profit? what do you sell your smallest and biggest designs for? i watched your video on someone else’s channel that broke down the way your rides work. the smallest is $500 i heard. surprisingly cheaper than what i expected. i wouldn’t use a chain lift either because it adds safety when you don’t have it. also i’m looking to buy your books when i can! i’m only 14 right now but i think i’ll move to georgia in the united states, and start my business there when i move out. please lemme know what you think!

That is an interesting question. I've been tempted to design and build BYRCs for other people, but I haven't because 1) I like the design and development part, but probably not the business part, 2) liability (you might get sued if someone got hurt), 3) I'm retired and don't want to work again. I've been offered up to $50,000 to build a BYRC, but I don't want the liability. Building a BYRC is for people who can and want to do it themselves right now.
PVC BYRCs are temporary. If you were to sell BYRCs, they would need to be welded steel, and you would have to go through some government certification process, very lengthy and expensive.

@@macaroni7Mechanical Engineering Some of the Big Ten universities have special theme park courses. Try Ohio State and Purdue?

@@PaulGreggBYRC if i were to install temporary pvc BYRCs and renew those every so often do you think it would suffice?

@@macaroni7 That's better, and paint them for UV protection. I don't recommend PVC for riders greater than maybe 60 pounds (27kg). PVC can shatter when it fails, unlike steel.
