@@PaulGreggBYRChey man, you have the manual option to control comments and what audience the video is for. If you just leave it up to CZcams, they decide for themselves what videos are allowed to have comments and it’s really dumb because they’ll do it to any video regardless of what it is. So make sure you choose that this video is not for kids (kids can still see it), and don’t hold any comment for moderation. Some of your newer shorts are still showing this problem so hopefully this helps.
Hey Paul, I've been watching your videos now for a looooong time since I was a child and now CZcams has put this one on my starting page. One day, I will also build a backyard roller coaster ☝🏻 Oh my goodness! I had to watch it several times, to get it all. This is insane! Would love to ride and get in contact with the guy who build that. Could you get me into contact with him? That would be amazing! I'm building a dark ride in my attic and it would be marvelous to get to know somebody like-minded. All the best and keep up the great work Lukas from Germany 🇩🇪
Very impressive. I'm always curious thought what these things cost to build, the time as well as the money. Did he do this in a year? two years? a month? I like that he added stairs to the top of the chain lift in case of breakdowns. it's a nice professional touch.
I suspect the materials cost quite a bit, but he does the fabrication mostly himself. From talking to other BYRC builders, a small steel one will run $10K in materials. Not sure about the wood BYRCs, depends on the price of lumber. I made PVC BYRCs for children for under $1000 in materials, but it seems all materials have gone up quite a bit lately.
The chainlift looks top notch for a backyard coaster but the supports on the rest of the ride do make me question if it's really that safe to ride with more than 1 person 😅 Especially the one at 0:45, is that even properly mounted? Definitely looks like a cool ride with elite airtime on the first drop, just minor concernes about the safety of the whole thing...
I see what you mean. Since we got the wheel resistance sorted, he's been stiffening the track, and maybe he has more to do. The track at 0:45 also seems overbanked, and could be flattened a little if no more speed can be achieved. He is so proficient at fabrication, he can change the track wheels or add a brake very quickly, like a couple days.
This is cool but can't one person build a proper big wooden. Like 60 ft, 4 car trains, 1000ft length. Seems like the back yard coaster wars arnt as hit as the real ones 😆. Ide love to see people building crazier and crazier coasters to try and out due eachither. Have records n such.
@@PaulGreggBYRC as a coaster enthusiast in a country with only 4 or maybe 5 rollercoasters, I couldn't believe seeing this, especially when the background terrain looked all too familiar to me.
@@kristenkerry4169 I know. I'm in NZ hence why I recognised the terrain . Rainbows End have three and there's another one at Crystal Mountain in Auckland. There's a 5th somewhere which travels with Mahons Amusements with their fairs. I believe it's called Dragon Wagon.
@@PaulGreggBYRC Thanks for answering. If the location in New Zealand is true as the others stated that's as much as I wanted to know, was just keen on where on the world it is located :)
Looks neat!
I love your content!

Great stuff! Glad to see you were able to finally get comments back on your videos
Just happened one day. They don't seem in control.

Can we get more videos of this coaster?! Looks so sick!
The Goal Boss has been dethroned as the best backyard coaster.
Oh no! 😅I think @Will Pemble can handle that and will use this to motivate himself for a project at a whole other level. He's so ambitious! 😁👍
This could be a real ride at an amusement park! It is crazy that someone was even willing to build that!

So cool! I would add a little dip instead of the straight track at 0:32, but as for the rest, it looks very impressive for a backyard coaster!!
it would hit the track underneath
@@ababahana7542 I'm talking about a little dip, not a drop... something in the style of those Wacky Worms super small bunny hops after the lift
This looks like one of those Jungle Mice in multiple places in China
Wow, just Wow.
I'd give it a go. I love seeing these.
Oh wow... that looks very wicked!
Dang! That’s a really good backyard coaster! Someday I wanna build my own backyard coaster.
The kids friend: dad can we get a rollercoaster in our back year
First design had a loop. I’ve actually got a photo of it but can’t post on here. Amazing feat of engineering
Wow what a great dad
He’s my neighbor lol! Awesome freindly guy. Great ride too
Holy heck, that first drop look nuts!
This is my Dads place and I can tell you hand on heart that's the scariest but fun part!
@@errybear85 that’s awesome!
Cool stuff cheers from Sweden!
when i am an adult i am also going too make a roller coaster of my own :>
thats my biggest dream

You did an awesome job I like it
This is awesome!!
I'm with you Sean!
Wow that's really impressive
I actually would hire him to build a roller coaster ngl!
This is huge looks like a real roller coaster you should’ve made the helix tighter
Nice

He's worked on this for three years.
The “stairs” are called a cat walk if you known
Now make an inversion! :D
That could very well screw it up, an uncomfortable vertical loop could ruin the ride ya know?
Awesome
I want to do that 10 Times
Will you upload more of this

I noticed you said automatic braking. Are you using relay logic or a controller?
I suspect no controller, as he is in the truck trailer business? I will invite him to comment.
@@PaulGreggBYRC yah please do, thank you. I work on roller coaster controls, so I'm professionally curious as to his set-up.
Copying myself in this conversation, also in the controls industry

Is that metal or PVC? Also, any idea what something like this would cost?
steel - Guessing $100K or more?
it need to be a launch Coaster
Easily the best looking lift hill and station on a backyard coaster.
Plus it's insane how large of a hill it makes it back up
þe coolest
This is better than 90% of the roller coasters in China
