Jared had to get out the largest wood type (30 line pica that was made over 125 years ago) in the print shop for this video. The print reads, “Thank You!” This was letterpress printed with red oil base ink using our Washington hand press, made in 1852.

In this video, Howard cleans the wood type after letterpress printing for our videos discussing the upcoming Big Day of Giving on May 2nd. We use 1K kerosene as a solvent for cleaning.     This is prime example of old school technology & new school technology coming together. Something we should do much more often. He is using an old school method, something that would be a dying breed if not already dead if it wasn’t for the exposure of CZcams(new school technology) .. this is how it should be. Us using our new technology to help keep the old alive. Maybe not its PRIMARY purpose, but this is a good use for modern technology.
