1956 Tonka Gambles Semi. Restoration.
Hello everyone! I know it's been a while since my last video. Sometimes life gets in the way.
This Semi is being restored for the same customer that i restored the 1955 Gambles Pickup truck for. This restoration was a challenge. The cab has previously been powder coated, and was difficult to strip. I big thanks to Gasolinealleytoys.com for all the replacement parts!
I really appreciate all the returning subscribers, and any new subscribers to my channel! Without you, i would not be able to work on these projects, and bring the memories back to those who had these toys as children.
Thank you!
Rusty

Sadly he is no longer able to tell me anything about it and I need help getting it back into working order. Where did you get the globe and gasket? I did use regular pop rivets. I hadn’t found a tool to use compression rivets yet. I eventually found one. I used the correct compression rivets on some builds after this when, when I could get the tool to fit. Some places it wouldn’t fit, so I had to use pop rivets a few other times.

Hey, I was just wondering - was this one made in USA, Mexico, or China? I can tell it was made somewhere between 1997 and 2012. It's hard to tell the exact year because the only real changes made were the stickers, and the original ones were long gone! They were changed in 2005, and again in 2007, and maybe one more time? Also, those are actually the wrong stickers - the cab ones you put on there are 1995-96 stickers, and the ones on the excavator cab are 1983-91 stickers. But it still looks cool with those - I actually think they look better than the correct stickers for this truck!
