This week i have an old ERTL van from the 70's. The van has lost a lot of paint and the rest has faded with time. I decided to change the paint scheme to something a little more flashy. Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching!

I had this van and a Sears and Roebuck tractor and trailer by Ertl. I used to pretend the van was driven by the Hardy Boys and the semi by Bj McKay and the Bear! LOL! Memories...

That is a sweet model van! It’s definitely a 1971-78 Dodge Tradesman as evidenced by the front grill and the space between the front passenger door and side door. The odd single side opening rear door was an option back then. It replaced the usual two back doors. It’s an uncommon option. I’d have loved to have this model as a kid. Heck, I still like it as an adult!

This is almost exactly like the conversion van my buddy's family had in the early 80s. Same paint color and even same round rear windows, though they had a few other windows (tinted) as well. Granted, the interior was a bit different, as they were a family of mom, dad, and 4 boys, so it was more of a comfortable transport van as opposed to a party van. Wow, you brought back some memories for me with this one.

There’s a van exactly the same colour as your original paint knocking around my town of Melton South, Victoria, Australia. Has large rectangular bubble windows in the back and it’s set up like a business board room. Large round table and chairs around that. Different but very well done. No idea what he uses it for. Unfortunately I know the name of the movie, “Pretty Woman”, Richard Gere, Julia Roberts and Jason Alexander as the sleazy lawyer. My wife’s favourite movie, so I’ve seen it more times than I care to admit. Thanks for the reno’ mate. Enjoyed it.

Excellent work. I had the same van as a kid. If I recall right, the decals on the side were of a sunset. I knew 2 people that had custom vans based on the Dodge Tradesman van.
My uncle s was yellow with a swamp landscape on the side and black interior.my friend s was faded blue and sadly In poor condition when he got it. We had planned to restore it, but he was active Navy and was deployed.
During that, it was towed due to no valid tags from our apt complex. Both of us were broke so he had to sign the title over to the tow company. Sadly, it was junked. Guess I 've always liked vans, I m currently fixing up a 66 Chevy G-10 Sportvan as a Mystery Machine replica and my daily driver is an 02 GMC Safari conversion van. People always said I was a lil weird. Guess I m part of the 2%.😋😁

The two cars I remember my parents having in the 70s when I was a kid (born 1973) was an orange Heavy Chevy then a red 76 Vega with a Bicentennial package and a really crappy engine. Somewhere in the mix was an old green Impala too. It wasn't until 1985 when my parents got a VW camper, which I loved. I enjoyed watching this one and I like the way the van turned out.

Well, well well well well! Well, very well indeed I don't recall, sir, there was any option given for two tone! This is akin to being asked if one wants a steak or lasagna, only to discover when being served that the person to the left of you has lasagna with a steak in it! Which is obviously better! I did not know one could order a lasagna with a steak in it, or a steak with lasagna dressing!
    Outrageous!
On the other hand, spiffy as always RS, couple of spots where the masking wasn't 100% which set my brain wondering what happens if you put a thing with masking tape on into a vacuum chamber, would you end up sucking the tape down harder? Would it do nothing at all? Would it build up a potentiality of kinetic energy that, when released, would shatter the steel containment vessel and kill everyone within a hundred yard radius with razor sharp shrapnel?
Probably not the latter to be fair...
Chap the other day, or indeed yesterday as it was known back then, was pondering on the structural containment of a can of diet coke and the interesting things that could be done with a variable pressure container. I used to have access to a very large one but they revoked my building access privs after the deep-fried chicken incident in 1994. I did discover that lowering the air pressure does indeed lower the boiling point of sesame oil. Also that explosive decompression can spread a deep-fried chicken over a surprisingly large area.
    I feel I've wandered off-topic somewhat.

very nice job. is that supposed to be a ford or a dodge? back in the day they were all very similar. That's before Ford put the nose on em. one of my Friend's dad had a Ford, it even had that little round rear window treatment this has, but was plain Jane as hell inside.Double rear doors instead of the single door. Now one of my other friends had a 60's model Ford van with a Wizard mural on the sides. It had the shag carpet and all that. Six cylinder in the middle, the Hump as we called it. but it had what was called a six equals eight kit on it, headers, different intake manifold, different carb.. ran great when it ran. With rather meager wallets back in the day (fast food jobs don't pay well) we had a time keeping our vehicles going. Most often we all wound up in one guy's pinto trunk back. There would be somebody up in the package tray in the rear, four guys squeezed in across the back seat, and then of course shot gun driver bitch seats up front. The middle of the front wasn't called bitch because that was where a gal would be setting, it was called bitch because if you sat there, you were sitting on the parking brake lever, and it could be a real bitch!
