If you are in Europe and thinking about going to Palawan, save a load of money and just go to Corfu in Greece. Paleokastritsa beach is almost identical to all the best beaches in Palawan. If you want a more Carribbean style beach go to Boracay

Concerning elders, nothing is ever forced or beaten into anyone. That would be abusive and not even natural. Seniority is revered because that means you can be yourself at any age and get respect because you will always be "Manong/Lola" etc. That means that you can be vastly different from your grandparents and still bond all the same, no toxic generational wars and all this. Concerning "Kabayan", I understand Eurocentricity and Enlightenment principles of objectivity. That's important but people can’t just start acting like they are God and operate under the pretense that they understand things as they aught to. Just be happy being wrong! There is no shame in that. How can you learn, otherwise? Sinigang is not even a soup. It is something you put in your rice to make it taste better. The understanding is just not there right now but with well-intentioned videos like these, it will get there.

The Philippines is the truth!

Generally I agree with what’s said . The food is Very Very expensive . Please have in your mind that the quality, quantity , And cost makes it a lot dearer than my home lands of the UK . If you want to make meals at home , in your Condo for an example , then you come to the conclusion that you may as well eat out . The cost of food in the Malls or Supermarkets are 😮 way out of kilt to the UK , so buying the ingredients and cost to make meals , sometimes just don’t add up . I can eat practically anything , I’m not a foodie do to speak . However the food you get in the Philippines isn’t always nice , it’s bad quality , you hear the locals say , it’s yummy , when it isn’t at all . Everyone Has the right to their opinion on the quality of food, including the locals . I’m just giving my opinion . I love the Philippines and I put up with that aspect of living there .

If moving to the Philippines, it won't hurt to learn the language.

I visit both places with my filipina wife , both are great but i like more boracay .

Makati is fun, and your expenses are expected. I live in Dasmarinas and your cost are triple what I pay a month, Water $5, Food $130, Internet $60, Alcohol is $200 my most expensive thing. Housing is $0, our house is paid for, HOA $10, Rent for similar home in my subdivision is $300. so there but if your in Makati single your cost are expected.. So I am around 450 a month out the door
