Upgrade from mugs and digital downloads to clothing apparel. That would easily justify $50 for a entry. I would easily buy a pull over hoody or a zip up hoody for entry. It would also be entertaining if the did a improv commentary on the car upon winning, but that is purely the winners choice.

Or just don’t run the tank below 1/8th. 🙃. IMHO.

I had a 17 Golf 1.8T Wolfsburg and a 5 speed and enjoyed it. 3/4 GTI for 3/4 price. I just didn’t want to spend GTI money. Replacing the 16”wheels with 17” with Michelin Pilot Sports really improved the handling. I hated the clutch, so the DSG would be the way to go. It had a 22k sticker, as did the 16 Chevy Cruze I had leased prior to the VW and there was no contest on which one felt worth it. I’d get a GTI or an R if I wanted another VW but I also didn’t have the VW long enough to endure any VW/German car aging issues.

This is a pretty shitty response honestly. I get it from both perspectives and don't really have an opinion as it's not anything I have any interest in gambling on or participating in. But this whole bit just seems disingenuous to the community who provides for you to allow you to continue doing what you do.

I enter these giveaways just so i have a chance at a reliable daily... And if i lose, we'll, it's at least supporting the trip to Australia for that amazing content to come and the rest of the Channel for more amazing events in the future.

One entry one person would be more appetizing, but I'm sure that's hard to regulate. The things that rubs me the wrong way is that more money = more votes on an aggressive, non-linear scale.

Mr. Regular has chosen to partner with a highly sleazy organization that makes him money by obscuring the possibility of entering without making a [hideously overpriced] purchase.

I always enter through the no purchase necessary option. It always seems like the address changes and it is some random PO Box attached to a paper shredder

It takes 5 minutes to get the battery and intake stuff out, really not a big deal. And yeah, you'll need Torx and triple square bits/sockets. It's German, this is nothing new.

I said it last time and I'll say it again here - I'd personally be more willing to enter the giveaways if the mugs were anything more than the generic car-culture stuff that I can get anywhere. If I'm going to enter an RCR giveaway, I'd at least like an RCR mug. EDIT: One of the recent giveaways was a step in the right direction, in that the mug at least said "regular car reviews" on the side, but it wasn't even in the right font.

Paid 50 for 2 mugs two separate times. It's just expensive for a mug. Try diversifying your products.

I don't think these giveaways are fake. But, as a few commenters here said, it's a bit steep to ask $50 for a mug. I get that there is probably a cost/benefit analysis done here that determines that value, but it still ends up souring a few people.

The mugs are okay, but some options like vinyl stickers or maybe a ballcap would be nice.

The point is you are selling $50 mug with protentional winning chance of S2k. You are basically using mug as raffle tickets. That being said, if you don't share result, it's basically considered a fraud.

First giveaway I entered was for the AE86 and iirc, the winner was from MI and within a couple hours of my neck of the woods too. So no, they don't always go to PA lol. It DOES get pricey to enter every giveaway, so I just enter for things I actually want rather than just anything.
