So, you dont actually need the leaves to be connected to logs if you place them. Naturally generated leaves need to be connected to the trunk, but if you place them down as a decorative block then they dont decay. That way people can use them in building for hedges and things.

I absolutely love thisconcept! As someone who has always loved playing minecraft as a builder rather than a fighter or explorer... this challenge really speaks to me. On a semi related note... there's a horror game I'd love to suggest to you that has a similar vibe to the themes you describe, being the paranoid old man with a candle late at night investigating his own house. It's called Knock Knock, a game by Ice Pick Lodge where you play as a man with chronic insomnia and Somnambulism (sleep walking) who is constantly trying to maintain his house that is getting larger and more occupied by "guests" as the game goes on. The man you play as has a very "scientific" mind, attempting to rationalize what's going on and distill everything into a "pattern" or a "game" he must follow to logically dispell the horrors and "patch up the cracks" of this continuously growing house. The story gets extremely dense and convoluted with many threads and details, with multiple endings depending on not what you do inside the house but actually what you do outside it. I'm not gonna describe any more of the gameplay or story, because it truly is a gem of psychological horror gameplay and story telling that not enough people have played or talked about. Markiplier did a playthrough of it back in 2013, but aside from that it's never really gotten any attention, but I think you would absolutely love it given its premise is almost exactly what you describe here. But yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to watching the rest of this minecraft series. Thank you for the great content you make Librarian!

Fr, for an example when you join a tf2 server with no players, it’s like someone is watching you from the towers, buildings or in the sky. When in gmod you will hear creepy sounds like the devs want to scare players. In Half-life I especially really scared by the darker spots, like in some buildings that are filled with debris texture and no lighting.

I can't stress out enough how much more you feel the pain whenever a game or a movie is showing a couple get departed from each other when you are not single. You imagine yourself in the place of the character who just wants to go back to his wife or partner and it hurts man. The thought alone of being departed from my wife in such ways is just something that scares me a lot. That's why one perspective of the horrors of this game is the man not being able to go back to his family. Hits home.

I have a couple of suggestions to make your life easier while still keeping to the spirit of the playthrough. For additional fire protection slowly replace bits of the house with polished deepslate, it'll look good with the dark oak and it''ll take time since you'll need to smelt the deepslate before using it in construction. For lighting inside the house only use candles, you'll need to constantly harvest wax from the bees to make them and you'll have to light them yourself. Plus they'll look good for the creepy vibes this house has. I'm also sure they don't give as much light as torches do. Like you said with the rug saferooms, these will make you life slightly easier while being resource sinks in order to accomplish them. So it'll help with making things a little less frustrating but will take both time and dedicated effort to implement across the house.

I've been noticing that you're not diligent in putting doors and making sure your rooms are airtight, because from what I see, it doesn't count as a "room" unless it's truly an enclosed space. There's quite a few times when you would sleep somewhere and it just doesn't count as a room. For example, in 1:03:47 it took until you placed that last slab before it counted as an additional room.

imo in-universe music touching on themes and things that the player has experienced works so well because it's a diegetic way to break the fourth wall or maybe not break but at the very least lean on it a bit the game can give a cheeky wink to the player and say "i see you"

The door was collateral damage of their little scuffle. But I assume you noticed during editing now that I think about it, since you did show the moment of the skeleton hitting its ally.

The fact that he’s personifying the cubes, not wanting to kill them with the emancipation grill, it makes the whole ratman thing a lot more believable. As soon as you’re left alone, the cubes become your friends, even the non-companion ones. It’s freaky.
