This story is soooooooooo underrated. Still remember the first time i listened to it, felt like i was going to have a panick attack.

One thing that really bothered me is around 49 minutes they talk about him having a modem but not having an internet connection

@@Catheidan Nono. They had a modem that is correct. But he didnt have a PC. That was the weird thing cause he remembered that he had a PC but they didnt have one. Modems were used for not just internet connectivity but also Phones.

I've never heard this story before. It's so well done, and your narration was excellent! When the protagonist pulls up Angelica's instructions of how to reach the Hole, I legit moaned "oh nooooo!" out loud to my empty house.
Man this story filled me with anxiety from start to finish. Good shit. Honestly had me start questioning my own past with computers and the internet.
2 hour creepy pasta, it's cold and dark at 2am, what more could I want in life?
I'm not that easily scared, I'm basically living in the dark every night when the sun rolls over the horizon, so I'm pretty used to it
but.. for some reason this story gave me that feeling of the eyes on the back of my head.. Like I'm being watched

First time hearing this story! It was super exciting and suspenseful. I think it started to fall off a bit after the main character is rescued from the Egypt by the detective. Everything past that comes so fast and has such odd pacing without much explanation for anything (how did the detective even know he was there?) But maybe that's intentional...it really feels like reality is dissolving by that point.
Does anyone have any theories about when he first entered the hole? Do you think it was when he was a teenager or was it soon after getting the emails from Angelica?

Its 100% intentional. Basically its a story from an unreliable narrator as the story itself technically unfolds as you read it. The words read are practically real time especially later on. Its a bit like a House of Leaves thing where the story starts to become a whole different beast. Starting out as a recollection of memories and slowly dives into becoming live events that dont make sense but do in some way but also dont and so on and so forth.
As for the hole, he def got into it when he was a kid. That Arcade was real. After that he was practically infected or tied to it. Or never got out in the first place and if anything what is happening (and this is my personal theory), is all a memory of his being replayed or recreated or made up by the hole while he himself is contacting other people outside of the events via internet connection.
Would also explain why his other self is active on the website when he himself is not. Or how his old pal was able to see the site when he said he didnt use it in years. There is a lot of weirdness that you tend to overlook when you look at it from a "real life gone wrong" kinda lense.
I think is my favorite creepy pasta that you've ever done. I love these long stories, literally never listened to one that wasn't worthy of a novella & you did a great job narrating it.
I usually don't listen to creepypastas but this was truly an experience - masterfully done!
Now _that’s_ a good creepypasta. I don’t know when it was published, but unless it’s very recent it’s underrated.

Early internet era was the greatest time in history
Now, im a bit different from the rest of everyone here. Being born in the early 2000s. Hearing a creepypasta in a timeline so close to me. So close to reality, yet far. Part of what makes this horrifying is the fact that we all have memories of childhood. Ones we reflect and sometimes cherish subconsciously. Memories that seem so uninteresting that you don't share them with anyone. But the small possibility that those memories could be false, or even fabricated to cover up something traumatizing. Stuff we have masked and stuffed far deep back in our brain. Parts of our lives forever made innocent in favor of our own sanity.
Pretty good story! I can't wait for more long form creepypasta / nosleep stories that are long like this one! First time a story actually gave me a bit of chills, and I've listened to a lot of creepy pasta stories. I feel like it was kinda odd at the end, but regardless the entirety of the beginning was great.

My theory is that the hole tried to stop him from escaping by making up all these convoluted infinite puzzles until he escaped but only from one layer of the hole the one he was forced into by that man and he entered the first(?) layer of the hole in 1999 like everyone else maybe they hid his bones in the walls? Or its just another fake random puzzle the hole made hell maybe he never even left a layer of the hole but that machine was another fake puzzle
Maybe the hole is just a thing. Doesn't have intentions or anything, it's just a quirk of old PC hardware, where some combination of factors combined with old CRT screens with their electron guns and high power electromagnets manages to mess with the brain through some kind of EM interference.
Everything that comes after is a fever dream while you're paralyzed and unconscious at your PC for as long as it's running in that state, powerless to wake up and switch it off.
All that follows is a process of trying to sort between reality and imagined memories and events, in a state where memory is unreliable and negative feelings are immediately materialized and validated as the mind tries to fill in gaps and create a coherent narrative. All the while you're trying to achieve some kind of lucidity in the hope of waking yourself and escaping the hole.
Maybe you manage to claw your way back to some level of wakefulness and realize you've been stuck at the computer the whole time, and what felt like decades was really just a few hours or days. Maybe someone else finds you there and pulls the plug. Maybe your body somehow manages to properly wake you up before you die of dehydration. Maybe the power dies, and the screen shuts off, and you wake up finally free. But you're never going to be fully sure if you've escaped, or if your current reality is just another part of the dream. Just another false start. Just your mind trying to keep you occupied while your comatose body slowly shuts down.
Who knows if the cult is real, or if it's just an easy way for the mind to tie together everything that's happened previously into one big mystery, as a justification for all those fears.
Honestly I think that's the best part of this story. We don't know what's real, so we get to fill in the gaps with whatever we fear most.
Excellent reading of an excellent story. I was transported for two hours. Would love to see more like this from you.

Feel like PoV character should have realized whatever was happening was at least one of three things: Magic, Able to see and/or engineer the future, in possession of enough resources they can do whatever the hell they want. In any of these three cases, he should realize that anything he is doing is because he is being permitted to do it.
If they wanted him dead, he would be dead. If his death is the inevitable end-game, there is nothing he can do about it. He is currently trying to understand the game before it ends, only then can you consider winning and its viability, instead of just not losing long enough to figure that out.
In other words it seems to me it should be becoming increasingly clear he shouldn't worry because it isn't really in his hands. (only reached 1:37:17)
