Great episode and reaction review, no doubt there's lots of artistic licence. My guess is that (no spoilers) they thought that the item in question would be perceived as being purely ceremonial rather than an actual 'working' item, but you are correct. If you need a further '20 minutes rest' there's always 'Electra Woman and Dyna Girl' - 'The Sorcerer's Golden Trick' czcams.com/video/UfjtZWT7_58/video.html

Greetings again Alexa from England UK so glad that you are continuing to enjoy "New Captain Scarlet" the CG Rendering in the early episodes can vary depending on which Director and CG Animation team have been used. With the change in software so early in production it took a while for things to settle down particularly with the rendering of certain characters hair and clothing usually with any guest or one off characters. But it is still very early days in "Rain Of Terror" a stand out for me is the CG Rendering of the torrential rain very impressive.

"The Unbearable Darkness of being Armand" by lrj You've eaten me. In a dream I saw you. There was no regret and there is no remuneration for me Cause I let you. And I watched it all so carefully and so concluding that the drug for me Is that fall. I tried and tried to make you take but you did all the giving And it was I that made the mistake of crossing your empty, dry, cracked, wanton desert to find you weren't waiting for me On the other side but actually walking away with no guilt, no sadness, no desire, no pretenses but singing about Fate Or was it vertigo? Yes, I remember now The pages of Kundara fly by in my memory I cried out after you but you disappeared Suddenly I was standing on the edge of a gorge The Earth beneath my feet was like stale breadcrumbs Paralyzed by fear I could do nothing But watch it fall away from me. When your voice breathed hard on my face Saying you could fly. It pushed me off balance I fell with horrid tingling throughout my body but mostly in my chest My back slammed the ground out came all the breath from my body and as I felt my eyes bulging Ready to burst with pain, love, tears, and Blood Shot open my eyelids gasping and sitting up in bed - at once - I Alone with your voice whispering to me Still saying that you could fly... The book is better at the ending, than the movie, but the movie is a great visual feast and most demons, Satan, God, or vampires are best in a book to envision or in a movie the less revealed of their thoughts the better, but every once in a while the movie does well. Time Bandit was good for God and Satan. Legend was good for Satan. And first five favorite vampire movies have sublime vampires.

  • @ReligionOfSacrifice

Just watched it last night. LEGEND (1985) for me will always be the full film or "director's cut" at 114 minutes. It is probably what I first saw, but forgot. Did the music make me forget the better and longer version? Possibly. Just saw the full film (director's cut) again of "Legend" by Ridley Scott and I liked it better. I think I saw the original full length director's cut, but then later saw the U.S. version and did not like it enough for my memory of it to be less than optimal when making my favorite movies list. I have now put it at #119 of my favorite movies list, so almost in my top 100 favorite movies. Ridley Scott goes from my 25th favorite director to 18th place, just by having rewatched the longer "director's cut" again and remembering it right. The movie is better with the full 114 minutes (director's cut), as opposed to the 89 minutes for the U.S. version or the 93 minutes for the U.K. version. The characters feel more fully realized and the ultimate nemesis not being revealed till the latter half is much better. So now what can be said of the experience. The visuals are stunning and the movie is better without Tangerine Dream's music throughout the movie, except for two songs. I feel the song "The Dance" by Tangerine Dream is excellent as a creepy version of gypsy music due to the pauses, but is it better than the original "director's cut" song? "The Dress Waltz" by Jerrry Goldsmith is perhaps what would be in a girl's mind for a dance "The Dress Waltz." Imagine "The Dance" by Tangerine Dream playing as you see traveling gypsies set up their tents and the women dance as the men work. That such a song would pause, just makes you feel the idea of "SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES." I like the movie better also due to now realizing Tom Cruise's character is Pan (Peter Pan) but from the past before such a character like Peter Pan exists. He is an innocent of the forest and only in the child, Lili's mind. In fact, aside from the couple she visits in the forest whenever leaving her father, the king's castle, she is the only real person in the movie. The couple tells her stories and fables of fairies, sprites, fawns, goblins, dwarves, and elves. Her father is a king who takes his daughter to church. She is now hearing of Satan and so her mind creates this tale. It occurs to me that none of this is actually real except for Lily liking the woods and believing in fairy tales from a couple she visits and so I suppose considering the timeframe in history for this princess "The Dress Waltz" by Jerry Goldsmith is more logical. I think my vote is still the Tangerine Dream song "The Dance." Even if it is the wrong fit for the movie. Also "Loved by the Sun" by Tangerine Dream for the last sequence and credits is amazing and so that song I'd add to the original director's cut. The movie ends properly with Lili and Jack (Tom Cruise) not together as he isn't real anyway. Jack is realizing she is growing up and so even he is separated from the rest of the fables of the woods at the end, as that is the way she wants to remember him, as hers and not another's. So what happened is Lili learned Satan desires humans and so she had added him to the stories in her mind. She realizes the innocence of youth must face the reality of her father's church. Here let me explain it this way: "The Bringer of Light" Part One: "In Heaven" He sought after knowledge and looked to the unknown. He studied his own pupils, to see if seeds had been grown. He looked to his God, for insight and power. Compared to us all he was on top of a tower. He tested the limits; he doubted it all. The taste of freedom, he heard the call. His name preceded him. He was loved by the masses. His pupils believed in him and stuck with him like molasses. Some started to worship him, which he told them not to do. Only chosen could see Him. Were others a waste of time? That's what it seemed to us was written on that sign. God must have found out by others of all his fans, because He wouldn't see him, but put him up on a stand. God asked him if all he heard was true. Lucifer agreed and told all that he knew. He tested the limits, he doubted it all, the taste of freedom, he heard the call. He was cast out as evil. He was threatened with pain. They told him they'd chain him if he tried to remain. Those that loved him followed to face the unknown; besides, we couldn't bear to see him alone. He did nothing wrong, as far as we could see. He loved the God, he wanted to be. Part Two: "For Love" I chose punishment also, with the angel I loved. I was treated as dirty, tho clean as a dove. In heaven, we are taught love comes first of all. If my heart condemns me, then I welcome the fall. For love, I have left or forsaken the light. But with him by my side, I fear not the night. Black coldness so strong I felt I couldn't go on living, but for the first time I really thanked God for the life I was living. Through tests love is strengthened. It grows with time and the more you want to be together is a very good sign. We passed through the darkness; we straddled the line. We drew more strength than possible by our love all the time. For love, I have left or forsaken the light, but with him by my side, I fear not the night. I just followed my heart; that has to be right. Part Three: "On Earth" God told all that left for Earth, there would be no chance for rebirth. And that we would receive eternal damnation, in a place called hell, yet, knowing all this, we still fell. On Earth where we now dwell and do as we please; we decided God wouldn't care if you bend down on one knee. The true God who made us, both above and below, knew what each would be like, and loved us as so. All of us are beautiful in our own way and all are important in the part that we play. In heaven, we accepted all that was said, but now to us that god, as God, is dead. For if he made us to burn for all eternity, the one lacking love is not us, but He. This sort of sums up the idea of the story. Can this world with fallen angels and stories of fables from pagans be put into a story for Lili to comprehend it. She knows the devil wants her per the litagy of the church and the sprites of the forest are less logical to her suddenly. She thinks of things and hopes for things for herself as she is 15 years old and wanting more for her life than her life at home with her dad, the king, in the castle. And yet she knows her desires may make her fall, and so she imagines meeting the one who desires to have her and realizes he is evil. Again, the poem is not the truth. The angels who fell from their former glory are in an abyss awaiting judgement unless they can enter flesh (human or animal) but to them all of it is degrading compared to what they are in their mind. In fact, the alternative of finding the Holy Spirit in men raising the human to be better in relationship than an angel makes them sick and so they often war with the people of God. Lili sees the sprites of the pagans fighting to win her from evil, but by the end of the story she is running back to the real world realizing her father is teaching her the truth. Hence, the true ending is the "director's cut" of Lili wanting to believe Jack loves her even though he is told as a Pan of the forest who does not age or lose innocence. She has past that and so she leaves him, even as she sees him as waiting for her to return to the forest. Meanwhile, since she sees him as a possible relationship, he is becoming distant from the other characters of the woods and so therefore Jack (Tom Cruise) is not with the others who remain in the forest. Lili is realizing there is evil in the world. The church is teaching her to not be so innocent. These are the only movies on my favorites list which can really be compared to it. Susan does not believe the other world of Narnia anymore if you read the books. Lucy does believe in Narnia as she gets older. Ofelia (Ivana Baquero Macías), at 11 years old, in Pan's Labyrinth has it much worse than merely pagan stories compared to church stories, as she is dealing with Facism vs. the church in Spain. Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz was suppose to be a young Shirley Temple at 10 years old and would have been dealing only with a neighbor who hated her cat and a tornado in Kansas by comparison. Judy at 16 years old dealing with such stuff is a comedy by comparison. 5) Narnia: the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe (2005) 31) Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) - Spanish with English caption 56) The Wizard of Oz (1939) 119) Legend (1985) - director's cut (full 114 minutes) It is weird to think a song matched to a movie could ruin your memory of it. The movie has such brilliant and stunning, magical scenes.

Susan has more story in his letters, though. Apparently she represents people who wander away from their faith but eventually many years later discover it again. So, while she stops believing in Narnia through the main book series, it is canon that before she dies, Susan believes again :)

@@alexachipman, Revelation is the "The Last Battle" so at some point the story closes. I'm not so sure letters count. That is like saying "Jar Jar Binks" wasn't the master over Emperor Palpatine, when we all know he changed the movies to appease the public. In like manner this is that only the books were done. Besides, wouldn't you want Yoda having to deal with "drunken master." The lightening going out of Jar Jar to enter Palaptine would have been awesome showing Vader in his case was no longer the empty vessel ready for demon possession because Luke was right to see good still in him. In any case, I think I need to find the original 114 minute film with Tangerine Dream music before I can know for sure which LEGEND is best.

SPACE: 1999 S1 viewing order (C) Two years after your video but the 24/7 live stream of the show on Shout! has revitalised the series. Like you & most others I agree the Series 1 episode order is open to personal interpretation, which is an unintended artful artefact of the Series 1 opus. So… I like how you arrived at a possible order that ends with Collision Course. I agree. My preferred list takes into account modern day streaming arc narrative structure and the dark themes applied to sci-fi from works like X-Files and BSG 03. That said Series 1 was obviously impacted heavily by “The horror of the void” presented to us in 2001-Space Odyssey. 🌎🌘 Breakaway 👻 🌑 🎸 (sitar) • “The Troubled Spirit”: No aliens, No plot need for Simmonds, gives a series arc some time, also a sense of paranoia, isolation. Faith in science jostled, as well as faith in themselves & the future. (NO Sandra/Paul romance yet) Mateo relevant concern for agriculture, food supply “living out here in space on borrowed time” - Mateo 🛸🌍 Earthbound • Best story in series for Earth-human First Contact with 👽’s. Simmonds (political leader) needed to go to serve arc) “Once again I’ve sat in on a command conference…not discussed return to Earth..” - Simmonds 🥶 Force of Life • ‘This far out in deep space ‘ 🪐 🎎 “Missing Link” (Peter Cushing) Koenig seemed genuinely single romantically in mind and body with his falling for Cushing’s daughter. So this can be fairly early on. 6. 💀👽 End of Eternity - Balor (some character development - more time / distance from 🌏). 🛰️👽 Voyager’s Return 🛸🛸 👽 - you said it best re: “an Earth shiip”. 🟡 Ring Around the Moon 🧿 👽 💻🧑🏼‍⚕️ “Triton: no computer records of any such planet. But I haven’t checked my own records.” - Victor “Triton does correspond to our galaxy charts, but Triton blew up-disintegrated.” “Triton is over 2 million light years away.” - Koenig “Time is an illusion.” - 👽 probe voice “This is Triton’s universe” - Koenig pointing to image provided by computer. Some statements used to argue this is pre-Black Sun. 9. ⚫️ ☀️ 🫥 “Black Sun” (Sandra boyfriend dies) Could be ep 2, but some previous episodes seem unlikely AFTER a kind of worm hole encounter by Alpha. Also seems a little early to encounter such a phenomenon at #2 position. Koenig hints at / expresses intimate feelings towards Helena “We’re on the other side of the universe.” - Victor “A million light years.” 🪐 The_Testament_of_Arkadia “a million light years away from Earth” - This episode reminds me of the BSG Kobol episodes. As we only have the one season , this IMO works best in the middle giving both the arc & series some context. ☄️ Matter of Life and Death 🧑🏼‍⚕️(Helena husband - “We’re billions of miles from Jupiter.”, “Many things have happened since we broke away from our solar system; unexplainable things.” - Koenig (so can’t be ep 2) And an ‘anti-matter’ planet seems more likely after 🫥⚫️☀️. “According to trajectory computer says we’ll be passing by 10 earth like planets per person on Alpha” - Kano 👽 Alpha Child 13, 🍖 Joan Collins • Mission of the Darians” - 🏓 👩🏼‍🦱🦿🤖 “Guardian of Piri” 🚀 🔫 🛸🪐🔆🪐 “The Last Enemy” 🦠 🫧 “Space Brain” 🌔🌍🌖 “Another Time, Another Place” Moon suddenly, inexplicably traveled “Billions of miles in a matter of seconds”. “Well it seems we’ve been travelling faster then the speed of light which of course means time might have been affected…” - Victor 🦑 Dragon’s Domain • (Cellini needed to go soonish- too strong a character) Dr. Russell writing ‘the mythology’: “Tony Cellini and the monster”: “It was the 877th day since moon left Earth”, “Between galaxies” - 🧑🏼‍⚕️ “We’re light years away from Ultra” - Victor 👴🏻 “We’re billions of miles from Ultra [and Terra system]” - Koenig Obvious problems here to not have last because Helena probably using Lunar time. But can be argued this opening scene is her writing the “mythology” and therefore chose those words for a kind of ‘Long time ago’ - ‘Once Upon a Time” narrative effect. 19. 🧊 🥶 Death’s Other Dominion (“traveled at unbelievable speed Beyond the the KNOWN universe”) • Brian Blessed “We’ve been here 880 years.” “Either they or we have passed through some kind of time warp.” - Victor 🔥👙 “Full Circle” (*Sandra 💕 Paul) 🌄 “The Last Sunset” (Sandra 💕 Paul) 22. ⚪️⚫️🔴 The Infernal Machine “How’s Paul?” - Sahn “Couple broken ribs, broken ankle” - Koenig Kinda implies Paul got injured then from his intense fights with both Koenig and Alan. Even though Paul seemed fine at end of ‘Sunset’, I put that down to mushroom effect not having completely worn off - like alcohol masking the pain. 👽 💭 “War Games” (“John!” - Helena) (Sandra❤️Paul) - Kinda shows by series end the romances arcs reaching their undeniable pairings. 🛩️ 🪐🌗”Collision course” (Koenig given ultimate purpose/lasting destiny by 👽/god like character) “There’s no getting away from this one, Paul.” - Koenig implying they’ve been through a lot of existential events but this collision has no escape given the laws of physics. And the female god 👽 states assertively “Your odyssey will never end”. So last scene has Koenig & Russell looking out the window at the stars. I don’t regard the ‘Message from Alplha’ as canon as it’s just a one scene monologue, although I am a fan of it.

7:34 NONE of us have free will. Here's the problem with the idea: 1) Some person, at some time, could have acted otherwise than he or she did. 2) Actions are events. 3) Every event has a cause. 4) If an event is caused, then it is causally determined. 5) If an event is an act that is causally determined, then the agent of the act could not have acted otherwise than in the way that he or she did. Looks like you need to think about it for a bit. You'll get there.

'Will' exists, but there is nothing 'free' about it. As Schopenhauer pointed out: "A man can do what he wills, but he cannot will what he wills." - In other words, the overriding motivation that spurs us on to do anything is not something we can consciously choose. All this aside, I am sorry for being cheeky to you in my first comment, Alexa. You are a very intelligent and well read young woman. Those weren't g-forces,. Someone was blowing on their faces with a Tire air-pump. God I miss Victor already. Yes losing half the cast really sucks this became more of a sci-fi action adventure show. No more Deep Thought'. When I was younger I attributed the shows failure to new producer Fred Frieburger. He was given the nickname'the show killer's that ever show he came on it was usually it's last. Star Trek Six Million Dollar man Space 1999. To be fair after season 1 the show was Cancelled . It was only brought back when Frieburger came aboard and ITC really liked the idea Maya, which was Friburgers idea. Gerry and Sylvia Anderson got divorced and she left the leaving Space 1999 needing a producer. Gerry hired purely on the fact he was a Producer on the original Star Trek, pity no one told him it was on the Less then spectacular 3rd an final season. A so-so 2nd season of Space 1999 is better then no second season at all...I think....

Alot of people hated this ending and I attended a sci-fi convention right sfter the series completed its first US run, 87,88? It was a TREK convention and those Stars, Takei and Nichols (they seem to always go together to theses things )took it in stride that the B7 fans and cast took over the whole day. The Trek cast was getting paided anyways. The B7 cast were provided airfare and hotel rooms deducted from their fees charged to the convention organizedrs. Not alot of money. Alot less then Trek cast. But were thrilled to be there. Paul Darrow did not like it in retrospect. He said, and im drawing this from memory and he said something similar later on a PBS interview DARROW: I know alot of poeple were disappointed in how the series ended. What can I say? Thats whait it was as an actor you tend to accept the script as is comes and thats your job as an actor to interpret what has been written. When it was there to be done I thought it was very well done but now many years later maybe it could have been handled differently. 'I' didn't write it and Terry(Nation) didn't write it. I wish he had...I think I could have been better." -1987 or 88. When the Blake cast spoke at conventions you felt like you were talking to an old friend. B7 cast members would wander the dealers room talking to everyone and anyone. George and Nichelle ware happy and not at all jealous after it was expained the final episode just aired. They admitted to not watching the show and asked, "What happened?" Someone replied,"They died..." Both their jaws dropped. silence for a second and u can always count on Goerge Takei to lighten the mood. GEORGE:Well I guess no sequel for you, huh .. Everybody quietly looked around and started laughing then from a corner of the room someone clearred their throat. It was Terry Nation who said 'maybe' turned and walked away. God those were great conventions back in The Day. Decided to jump to the end. All comment on a few episodes here and there.

Blakes 7 premired in the US around 86-87.!I remember because TNG hadent premired yet. Blake episodes where being seen for the first time. I used to read Starlog magazine as a kid and read about the NEW show being made in England. It sounded very interesting and the article said we wouldn't be getting it for several years, it was more like 9 years after the premiere and 5 years after it left the BBC. By this time the 4th Doctor Who(tom baker)was long gone and the British Censors where coming down on that show for all the monsters and violence. Liked the next two, they were okay. the last origial run Doctor 'McCoy' didnt do it for me but was hoping the sci-fi drought would end with Star Trek Tng. It ended way sooner when B7 premiered on local PBS stations. I thought it was great. The crimes they falsely charged Blake with u would never get on us tv. I was like shaking my head wondering if I heard It right. The good guy'loses' as do the two young people trying to help him. Stuff like this just doesn't happen on us tv. This show was not blessed by a huge budget. The fx were okay for there time. No where near as great as Space 1999 also Produced in England but I usually don't watch sci-fi for slick fx and hockey production values. I watch shows for 'the write stuff'. Oh, I take it back. If one were looking for, let's say, a "bluray"... the most obvious possible name for a commercial website you might try would let you search releases (including physical and streaming) from lots of different countries (country is at the end of the search bar) and gives info about included languages and region encoding (or lackthereof). Hope that's of some use.
