At a Scarlet 50th Anniversary convention in 2017, all the guests were offered a drink of Captain Scarlet champagne and we all got replica labels from the bottles.
Some of us re-enacted the climax of the pilot episode afterwards and much laughter ensued...I'm pretty sure none of us had drank any champagne first though 😂
That is both fantastic and also there is no way I would touch Champagne at a Captain Scarlet event 😂 I have watched enough of the show now to know that is never a good idea!

This is one of those Anderson episodes that refer back to earlier series. Even UFO has a Stingray episode: 'Reflections in the Water'.
Not for the first time, I wonder what Spectrum's mission was before they got into a ruck with the Mysterons. Even though they've only been around for a year, they've got a flying base, a mini air force and a network of agents around the world. What was it all for, originally?
It's good to know the Mysterons have a sense of humour. I was the one who volunteered to stay and answer the phones when it was time for the office party. I could still enjoy the stories afterwards, with none of the shame and regret.
I hate answering phones, but I loathe office parties even more; I wish they offered that option. Mandatory parties are the worst 😭

What Ilike about Alexa Chipman is that she doesn't do the usual reactors top 40. She's all over the place.
That is because I don’t choose anything that I react to - it is all viewer votes and polls. Plus I don’t do stuff for the views - I mean let’s face it, maybe 2 people will watch silent film reactions, but those 2 people will hopefully love it and that is what matters!

The funniest thing about this episode, Captains Blue and Ochre didn't recognize Captain Black when he was literally starring them in the face. The Mysterons must have been in hysterics.
I need a followup “Captain Black and the Mysterons” show that has them sitting around eating popcorn just laughing at what Spectrum is doing.
Captain Scarlet's take on *The Naked Time*
PS: V17-Alpha Bomber that Blue and Ochre is used to carry their bombing run is the same craft as the one that got shot down in the Thunderbirds episode *The Cham Cham* which is kind of ironic as both pilots from the two shows were listening to *Dangerous Games* on the radio (3:18) before being shot down.
Also Spectrum started operation on the 63rd anniversary of London Bombing.
In 2051 I’ll get a bottle of bubbly and stick a captain scarlet label on it and drink your health I’ll be 83 then yoooms ,I can see you as a commander of an under water base Alexa it ma’am. 😂

I don't remember this story at all Alexa. I might be tempted to find a box set and sit down and watch every new episode with you from now on. I'm not happy having big holes in my Captain Scarlet knowledge.😂😂
Things are moving on, nearly the end of the series! I missed this episode at the time and the following re-run. Didn't catch it until maybe the '90s by which time I knew all about it from the episode guides published in books and fanzines in the meantime. Btw, did he say aushpishous occasion?
When "Captain Scarlet" ends please will you do "Children of the Sones" next as it's only seven 30-minute episodes long.

Good anti-drinking episode, second only to "100 proof highway" from the 80s cartoon "Defenders of the Earth"

As I recall I just give a slightly longer review before I jumped into New Captain Scarlet.
I like the idea of the Mysterons destroying things because they think it's funny. We the Mysterons will destroy the world's supply of toilet paper...
They already did that in 2020. It got so bad here that everyone at my work had to buy tp from the work supply - no stores had any.
