This should not be a problem, if the collimator itself is striaght. If you cannot secure a colimmator, you will not be ablle to secure the coma corrector or eyepiece as they use the same screw. In that case you will never be able to reach a stable collimated system. There is an advantage of laser even if it is not straigt. That is if the laser hits the center of a mirror and gos back into the emitter, the laser beam is the axis of the mirror. This is true as long as the center of the mirror is acurate , regardless of whether the laser colimator is stable in the holder.

This is a ridiculous video. If your focuser has that much slop, a Cheshire and/or eyepiece will move as much. Also, you loosen the holding screw to exaggerate the effect.

Did you check if you could greace it with some lithium grease? Especially when it's colder the normal greace creates a buch of resistance. It helped a lot with some mounts i used.

It looks like the issue is not the Lazer collimator but the fit that it goes into and it only has 2 adjustment/locking screws that would throw it off to one side? My first solution would be to wrap some insulation or plumbers tape to make it a snug fit! Thoughts please?

its just revealing the problem thats already there. an eyepiece plopped in with different screw tightening will do the same. an expensive laser that precison fits may be pefectly centered is repeatable but if thats not how your eyepiece attaches it dont matter.

You are using a 2x Barlow, but can i use a 3x Barlow?
