Kawhi Leonard shuts down Giannis Antetokounmpo - 2019 NBA ECF
My observations of Kawhi Leonard's excellent defense on Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Leonard's intimidation seemed to do half the work for him. Giannis just didn't look to attack Leonard in the first place
- Giannis usually looked to pass rather than attack Leonard. I included numerous plays where he quickly gave up the ball to another teammate while making no effort to score
- On or off the ball, Giannis essentially never tried to post up Leonard; he just didn't have the post game to muscle through Leonard in the paint like a traditional big man
- Especially off-ball, Giannis looked clueless and rarely looked to establish any kind of offensive position
- Leonard's length did force Giannis into numerous turnovers and a few blocked shots when Giannis did try to attack
- Although Leonard was defending out of position, Giannis' lack of a post game, his tendency to stand around the perimeter, and Leonard's length made up for any size disadvantage that you would expect from a traditional PF or C
- the Raptors' help defense also did their job in complementing Leonard with traps, doubles, and triples, but it was still Leonard who was the leader of their team defense

Dennis Rodman Great Defense on Michael Jordan - 1989 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 5 lety
I uploaded each Jordan-Rodman 1989 ECF matchup game-by-game a few years back, so now I'm putting all of them into one video. It seems to me that Rodman had more success defending Jordan in 1988 and 1989 coming off the bench than he did as DPOY in 1990 and 1991. Rodman had his moments where he'd get into foul trouble, but at other times he'd do a good on Jordan man-to-man, off the ball, and as t...
Lindsey Hunter Great Defense on Dwyane Wade - 2005 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed 5 lety
Lindsey Hunter did an excellent job of frustrating Dwyane Wade in the 2005 ECF. While Tayshaun Prince had the size and length advantage, Hunter had speed and quickness to counter Wade and was the Pistons' most effective Wade defender for the series. With his shorter stature he could crowd Wade and get under him, yet still react quick enough to Wade's first step. Hunter pressured Wade the full l...
Dennis Rodman Defense on Michael Jordan - 1991 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 588KPřed 5 lety
Rodman only defended Jordan for a few isolated possessions in the 1991 ECF. Like the previous 3 series, Rodman had moments of success but was bested by Jordan most of the time.
Dennis Rodman Defense on Michael Jordan - 1990 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 15KPřed 5 lety
DPOY Dennis Rodman defended Jordan for extended stretches in Games 1-3-4 of the 1990 ECF, but not as much in the other games. Rodman had occasional success defending Jordan with off-ball denial, physicality, and his length. For the most part, however, Jordan bested Rodman's defense and often made shots or drew fouls against Dennis. Coincidentally, Games 1-3-4 were also Jordan's 3 highest-scorin...
Dennis Rodman Great Defense on Michael Jordan - 1988 NBA ECSF

"Jordan is the toughest player I've faced because he's always moving, and it's tough to stay with him." - Dennis Rodman, June 16, 1988 - www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-06-16-sp-6774-story.html 2nd-year Rodman did a good defensive job against young MVP Jordan in the 1988 ECSF, their first of four head-to-head series. Rodman's length and off-ball denial did trouble Jordan, though Rodman was...
Michael Jordan shuts down Isiah Thomas - 1990 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 5 lety
Isiah did not look to attack Jordan that aggressively when guarded by him in the 1990 ECF, making the defensive highlights less entertaining. There were several omitted clips of Isiah uneventfully passing the ball off to another Piston when Jordan was on him. Most of the defensive clips focus on Jordan's - off-ball denial - transition and help defense - causing Isiah / the Pistons to run a stag...
Alonzo Mourning (Age 35) 3.0 Blocks/Game - 2005 NBA ECF
zhlédnutí 9KPřed 5 lety
Alonzo Mourning put on an incredible display of shot-blocking in the 2005 Playoffs and 2005 ECF, averaging 2.2 BPG for the Playoffs and 3.0 BPG for the ECF despite playing less than 17 MPG for the Playoffs and ECF. Game 1 - 2 blocks Game 2 - 4 blocks Game 3 - 1 block Game 4 - 4 blocks Game 5 - 4 blocks Game 6 - 5 blocks Game 7 - 1 block

Alonzo played an important role off the bench in the Heat's 2006 Playoff run, most notably his 5-block performance in the clinching Game 6 of the 2006 Finals. Game 1 - 0 blocks Game 2 - 1 block Game 3 - 0 blocks Game 4 - 3 blocks Game 5 - 0 blocks Game 6 - 5 blocks
Michael Jordan locks down Glen Rice - 1998 NBA ECSF
zhlédnutí 30KPřed 5 lety
At age 35 in his last year as a Bull, Jordan came 4th place in DPOY behind Mutombo, Payton, and Robinson. While Pippen primarily defended Rice, who only had 2 good performances - Games 3 and 5 - in the 1998 ECSF, Jordan did a great job as the secondary defender. Jordan blocked Rice's first shot attempt over him and denied him off the ball on multiple occasions. He did a good job of staying in f...
Jason Kidd (Age 38) locks down Kevin Durant - 2011 NBA WCF
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 5 lety
Dallas had Kidd coast on defense for the opening minutes of the game by matching him up with Sefalosha, but Kidd would often guard Westbrook and/or Durant for full quarters in the remainder of each game, not just for a few isolated possessions. Jason Kidd's defense in the 2011 WCF was phenomenal as both Westbrook and Durant struggled to find consistent success against him. Jason Kidd's off-ball...

LeBron's Overrated Defense Exposed - 2018 NBA Finals

After yet another NBA Finals of poor defense, LeBron allowed Durant to collectively shoot over 54/43/90 across the 2012-2017-2018 NBA Finals. Durant is the only person under the non-shortened 3PT line to shoot 50/40/90 for an NBA Finals career (Penny Hardaway did so in 1995). LeBron resorted to hiding on defense away from Kevin Durant for much of the NBA Finals, which may actually have been the...

The amount of ground he covered each stride was insane 🐐
My great great uncle fought joe louis in a semi pro match.. He got severe brain damage.. His punches are crazy good.
6:18 HAHAHAHAHAHHA "that .... Rodman"
This was basketball in its golden years straight entertainment. Not like today’s soft touching bs. You never saw any man on this video run up to a ref after a play and say he fouled me ref 😂. Get your soft ass up and run the next play new generation basketball players we don’t have time for your bitching.
14 years! Aged really well
Rodman was a top 5 all-time player. Among a court full of elite athletes he always stood out. Not just with strength and speed, but also endurance. He wore players out with his physicality and endless energy. If you look at him vs Malone, Malone had some earlier success, but in 3 and 4 was much less potent. His record speaks for itself, 5 championships on 3 teams, while other all-time greats of the same era couldn't get 1 championship (Ewing, Malone and Barkley to name a few).
Lebron has been genrleman swept more times than I can count 😂😂😂. He truly has mastered the art of choking. But gent🧹 by Boris Diaw, Patty Mills and Tiago Splitter 😂😂😂.
0:15 the commentator says "a 7 footer is doing this" and "most guys in the league can't even do this". Even though its the most simple transition dunk and every player in the nba 7'4 or 6'3 can do this. Shows how far nba has came.
This dude's lack of defence (when he did lack defence) pissed me off
He did defend sometimes, like his steals in game 3 and game 5
Kobe got better but he did suck for a while whether anyone wants to believe it or not and he had more chances than anyone
11:26 aye I’m crying bruh, you didn’t need to include ts🤣🤣🤣
7:14 Look at how sloppy his footwork is
Lebron James also has a more recent championship than Kawhi Leonard. Hope this helps.
The Micky Mouse ring?
The Queen gettin Belt by Terry😂😂😂
Now do a 'Gary Peyton locks down Michael Jordan in the Finals Once George Karl Sees the Error In Crucial Blunder'.

Except Bulls won that series not gentleman swept 😂😂😂
As far as Jordan goes.... im sorry man, Lebron would ***ing destroy Jordan.... and im a 80s child, take it from me. Jordan has never seen a behemoth like Lebron, he would absolutely rape him, just like he did Kobe who was even more skilled than Jordan at that size/position. Jordan was great, but against Lebron, super overrated. If Lebron had those Jordan teams/casts aswell Lebron would have 10 rings by now, 10 of 10 in Finals.
No man could ever lock Lebron up, its TEAM DEFENSE, forcing him to pass to scrub teammates or forcing him into bad shots with double/triple/quadruple/quintuple teams, zone defense & shading. If you put Kawhi on an Island, 1 on 1, vs prime Lebron.... with nobody to help him, you honestly think this 6'6" 199 lbs pounds scrub is not gona get all his joints, ankles, cartilages and ribs broken? Dont be stupid and either delete this video or change the title.
This needs more views
he had 31 points
Ai got 48 because of OT. Kob stopped D on him early in the 4th on this game.Lue gurded Allen in 4th in OT because Pjax needs Kob to score. He only.got 15 in this game but once Kobe scored more than 26 next 4 games Philly was done.
This explains why Lebron was having the worst finals ever. Kidd never let him get "in the zone". Good defense is never mentioned in most games.
And brons say he's better than Mike, lol. Mike would never lose to the 201 dallas in the finals
Dick riding channel. What about Rex Chapman kicking Jordan’s ass whenever they play lol
Rent free lmao
22:00 those words about working class people are amazing. Dennis is millionaire and that's the class of millionaires I don't have any bad feelings against.
The amazing thing about this version of MJ is that he had all the mental capacity, all the tricks and in spurts and moments showed the young guys just a sliver of how athletic and gifted he once was. He couldn't sustain it, cause of injury, be he showed it in spurts. I would have loved to seen a version of MJ where he wasn't out of shape or injured before coming back to the Wizards.
I know he had to cuss the hell outta his teammate after the game 😆
I forgot he just left without shaking anyone’s hand again. Way more disrespectful than Isaiah Thomas
RIP Craig Sager
The good days
Loved The Truth!
you missed Cleveland Cavs of March 97
If lenard shots that 1 freethrow in game 6 finals, rey allens 3 would be meaningless
in game six reggie made a winning shot by pushing mj so he easyly made a game shot in game six, but larry bird is cold as fuck after the shot he never celebrate like reggie did jumping as he thought job is done because bird knows what is going to happen in game seven, and mj didn't dissapoint bird of what he expect to happen ☠️🥶
These two had a wonderful relationship. They loved each other a lot. I remember seeing a video which Ali got sad after seeing Lewis in his last days. Hands down, these two boxers are the best ever to grace the sport of boxing.
Just to think if they won LeBron will have 5 rings lol he gone get 🔜
One thing i know About Bron is he’s a Terrible Defender and gives Zero Second Effort once hes Beat That’s it , Terrible Leader fr
This is called defense see the results, LeBron is not use to defense
I remember as a kid watching this these mfs like they wasn’t missing at all
😂🤣🤣🤣 LeFraud
You watch it and your brain says it shouldnt be possible to move that quickly at that size.
6:15 Someone - again - tried to bully Rodman, Rodman starts talking back. Commentator: "Oh, that's Rodman!" What? Was it his fault again? Goddamn it, I feel for him. Every misconduct someone doing around me -- it was me who was always blamed.
why would you post this terrible quality video lmfao
It’s a shame he injured his knee, even running into his own teammate make it worse at that point only McGrady was averaging one point more than Jordan entire league! At 40 years old
Rip Walton🙏🏾
He averaged 28-8-4 on 57/52/80%. He DID play LeBron well in these quarters, and that narrative purveys the whole series like it wasn''t Wade and Bosh averaging career-lows in the Finals that cost them a chance (they still would have lost, just not 4-1).
Rodman only got matched up on Shaq sometimes.. Longley was guarding Shaq
He only play hard when shii convenient, but defense, he nevered did that.
Lebron would never
LeBron would have never got up. King of flops
BIG LOSER
