I would not do dry pour, There are to many factors that influence the quality of the concrete, besides, it needs moisture from the ground and as this is under cover theremay not be enough.

Love your channel. Doing a dry pour pad will be a huge mistake. We were convinced by a so called expert years ago to do that and would have loved to had him over when we had to dig it all up. Dry pour is just an excuse to do it the lazy way. Strength and integrity of floor will be severely compromised

I saw a dry pour recently where they cut into it to compare to wet pour. There was no comparison. Dry pour was horrible. If you want it to last, I'd suggest wet pour.

I did a dry pour 10 years ago in my garage,it has held up vehicles. We put in heavy duty metal half way then the rest with the dry pour. There are alot of you tube channels to watch but try watching Cajun Country Livin,they r best couple that has done it. Tho they did a regular pour when putting down shipping units. Dry poor is way to fragile for a shop environment, especially if you're going to drive heavy equipment like your tractors and such on it. Honestly I'd have gone the opposite direction with your prep, actually digging dirt down 6 to 8 inches (depending on how thick you wanted your slab), evening the ground out by taking dirt away from the floor. Once I had my depth, I'd add 2 inch gravel base, and then 4 to 6 inches of concrete. Considering you won't have a truck, I'd break it up into 4'x 4' sections and pour it that way, plus it makes surfacing so much easier. To make it even easier on myself I'd not use rebar but gas fiber additive for structure. There's no way to do this that isn't going to be a lot of work, but it's the investment upfront that will determine if there's going to be even more work 6 months to a year later when whatever method utilized starts failing...

Dry pour concrete lacks strength. It’s probably ok as long as you don’t drive the tractor on it or drill into it.

I don't think you should really dry for cement but what I think you need to do first is compact it really really good extra good then you want to put rebar down I would add chicken wire on top of your rebar and you will find out that just adding that chicken wire will make your cement floor really tough I mean you'll need to use a jackhammer to break it that's how tough it will be but wire it also to your rebar and scan your rebar up with little blocks of cement just so that you're a rebar stands up off the ground and then wired chicken wire over the rebar and you'll have some beautiful stuff but it's all about preparation before you pour

Is that rather a large area for dry pour concrete?

Dry poor has its place but a floor is not one of them. Dry poor is great for things like post holes. Dry poor doesn’t always get the water distributed through out all the mix, leaving weak spots. You don’t want your floor to start popping out pieces of concrete or cracking apart. You definitely want a wet poor for a floor.

Love the way the barn build is turning out! About the concrete, dry pour always sounds good but never turns out lasting. Wet pour is usually the way to go.😉

Dry poor = weak concrete. What you gain in "ease" is more than offset in a weak concrete floor. It's not even close to the same. Even with rebar, it will be 75% weaker than a standard mixed poor. If you ever intend to drive a vehicle into your barn, or have to deal with freeze/thaw issues, you'll want to take the extra effort to mix your concrete correctly.

Do the dry pour! Just remember its dirty! Lol and youll have concrete everywhere 😂😂. In your hair in your teeth (unless you wear a mask as we did this time) it works fantastic! We have done 2 more since our most recent video! :D

Not high on the dry pour method at all. Results are often brittle.

I'm gonna vote NO on the dry pour, at some point your going to want to put a truck or tractor, quad in there to unload feed and such, or have heavy workshop equipment, so No. sry. Try drypour on your stair pads, or sidewalks.
