That's a nice chipper. Though there are times they don't like the greener stuff or the limbs that are towards their maximum diameter as you discovered. In my experience the drier the wood the better it chips with a PTO chipper. Enjoy the new toy!
The most impressive part of this video is how well Katie backs up the little wagon behind the ATV. Those little trailers will make a fool out of a lot of good operators.
Glad you're back Katie your place is looking really good you and Greg are doing a fabulous job
I have a chipper on my tractor. 4” max but it will eat a 20’ x3” branch without a problem. Once the chipper has it there is no stopping it. It’s not a hydraulic feed. 6” max does not mean it can eat a 6” log without issue. 10” max will. May as well make firewood out of those bigger ones.
agree those two times trying to jam the big pieces in were perfect log size.....why break your chipper.....
The smoke is beautiful
And jumping over the fire is more beautiful
Welcome back Katie, hope you visit with mom was enjoyable. Clogging up of the chipper is a result of the low speed you are running the chipper at. Speed up the power and that will not happen. Chipper running too slow is a reason you have to keep using the forward-back handle so the chipper can catch up, SPEED UP THE CHIPPER.
Note to self, never buy a used wood chipper from Greg and Katie.
Lol 😂
Kat,I know you are excited about all the work that Greg did when you were visiting with your mom,it was wonderful to watch, have a bless day😮🌷🪻🇺🇸👍
Subscribed to their channel as well after your visit with them. Always looking for more interesting off grid life. WE just bought our 5th 48 volt battery so we can basically do anything we want on our property now. And wrapping up the last bit of interior trim so we'll FINALLY be finished with all of the house building. The wife has been making custom furniture that looks AMAZING as well. We may try getting some more vids up eventually on our own channel, but for now we just work and watch your channel for inspiration.
It's good to have you back again Katie and I'm glad you had a nice, relaxing visit with your mom. Your friends seem to have a lot of property. I love chipping! There is something so very satisfying about doing that, I think it's because of the instant gratification. You can clear out an area and see immediate results and also get a pile of useful chips. Nice job with editing in the random shots of the animals and property that I enjoy so much with your videos Katie. I just love those goats. Have a great week. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Hello from Mississippi
Good to have you back Katie! But Greg did an amazing job on the top of the siding by himself.
GLAD YOU GOT HOME SAFE AND YOU VISITED YOUR MOM. YOU NEEDED A BREAK FROM I T ALL
Y’all definitely put in the work, chipping those branches. Loved your friends property,& the intro of your animals. Welcome back Katie, can’t wait to see what y’all get into next.💯🙌🏾😀💜✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Hi to both of you. I can't understand why Geg was putting such a thick piece of wood through the shredder. Surely that would ha e been better sawn up and used in th log burner. I was amazed that he didn't break the machine. Your equipment should be looked after as it isn't cheap to replace. That said, I still think you guys do an awesome job. You are both hard working and talented. Love the way you treat your animals ❤
I had followed Philippe & Devine a while back, they have a huge homestead! Glad to see you made it back home Katie, and holy logs! R.I.P. wood chipper! 😅 Love you guys! ❤
Good morning Katie and Greg.
Welcome back Katie and glad you enjoyed your trip. Your friends have a nice property too. Glad you guy's didn't kill the chipper.
Greg, even though those tire plugs claim to already have cement in them, I always add a generous glob of rubber cement to them. It makes it easier to insert and also seals better.
might want to tarp those wood chips as they are more useful if dry
You should tie a shirt or coat around the cable when you pull things. If the cable breaks it send it under the tractor instead of to the driver. My dad called it a beer joint trick.
Its amazing how quickly spring "springs". Everything greens up so quickly
Why don’t you use the wider branches for firewood?
Outstanding Craftsman ship 👍!😇!😇!
Nice to see ya back Katie your friends have a beautiful property as well looked like you & Greg had a wonderful time and much needed rest. great work with the wood chipping bet that smelt good. Cool smoke shot . until that next time stay safe.
Maybe use that for firewood that's way too big for that chipper❤
Greg have used those plugs out in the bush many times because when you're getting firewood and you always get sticks through your tires I use the rubber ones and I also packed some glue with me I dip them in the glue then we're good though the rubber ones I didn't like those string ones so they didn't work that good The school I went to offered job training and that was my first job training job was working at OK Tire shop
It was lovely hanging out with you guys again! One day, we'll come visit you guys on your beautiful property.🤞☺️
Can't wait!
Hello from Atlanta, Georgia!!! Love watching you guys, I love your lifestyle! Wish you were on more, but I know you guys have a life to run…chores and jobs never end!!!
Next time try a 6mm or 1/4” drill bit to ruff out the hole and make sure that you are pumping air into the tyre at the same time. It will make your life easier.
Most definitely the hardest working couple on CZcams ❤
20:24 that one is big enough for firewood, at least big enough for the Jacuzzi
Maybe use larger trees for firewood and save chipper? We love your show and your lifestyle
Great concept.
When you tried to put a tree into that chipper that was it for me.
I mean were you trying to break the chipper? :) Kinda looks like it. I'm pretty impressed by how much of that giant log it did actually chew up.
It loves the bigger wood. We actually have so many green needles from doing the tree tops/branches that it doesn’t look good now that we’ve laid some out on a pathway
Rather than stop/starting the safety bar, try adjusting the infeed roller speed on the right side of the chipper when chipping large and hard timber. Slow and easy for them!
👏👏👏✊ Feliz regreso !!!!
Awesome place!.... barn build!
Always nice to watch ur vedios putting in all ur energy to upgrade ur area and having all that improvements. Looking forward to seeing more of ur vedios. More power to both of you.
Aspen is getting SO BIG!!!
Those tire puncture and patch kits are great. I've used them on trailer tires with 6 ton loads on them and they lasted and held. They simply work with no worry of them coming undone if done right.
There's bound to be some pine stumps in the woods that you did not cut down. Try pulling one of those up and letting it dry out some. Split off a chunk, lite it and put it under the pile of brush. You may like the results. Have good days!
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
Find a spot to put all of the limbs and brush in. Small animals and birds love it and it will compost down a few years. We’ve lived in the timber for 40 years and we don’t burn brush. Except in our fire pit for hot dog roasts. 😊 I have a brush pile that is 20’ long, 15’ wide, and 8’ high near the bottom of our property. It’s It settles over time and I keep adding brush I can’t chip. The critters love it. Try it. 😊
The property looks so great, beautiful & so well organized - in comparison with 3 yrs ago (or 4) it's astounding how much progress you've both made - really impressive !!! Have a super day🐸
Hello from Germany from Kakenstorf Hans und Oci...have a good time ❤❤❤👍👍👍❤❤❤
ya guys don't try to put the whole log in your chipper as they say keep it simple and welcome back Katie we miss you
😂😂😂 Greg living dangerously jumping through fire!!! 😂
It was great to have you here again. A fun day quadding around, too bad we didn't see a bear!
Gregg you know better than that, putting a little tree in the chipper 😂😂😂😂😂.
So nice to see people clean up the scrap from cutting a tree down
Hello from La Pine Oregon. You own the chipper do what you want its your business only.
Hi Kids, It's good see your videos again. Tire plug did you use glue? I didn't see. I'm glad see you cleaning property. You know better than dat to put so big of a log in chipper. Be safe and be happy.
Hi Katie & Greg & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Katie & Greg & Friends Randy
Great job ya'll! The negative comments here obviously havent ran a pto chipper that size. I alternate between the end branches of pines, with a solid log or branch, it usually clears the needles and such through. Love ya'll ❤️
I love your chipper. Great fun.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wht were you thinking with trying to chip that big log?
There's a limit to the size you can chip with Greg 😂 🤦
Use those larger pieces as firewood for the hot tub water heater. Your chipper will thank you.
Good to have you back Katie but Greg seemed to do pretty good without adult supervision while you visited with your mom. It didn't look like he lost any weight with his own cooking.
I can see it is going to be interesting to see this upcoming project!
Take care,
jack
You need to adjust the sensitivity of the red safety bar. It tells you how in the manual. Good job good video.
I love how you always start with the fur family...🥰 ummm fire wood piece?🫣🫣 Glad you both had great visits... ❤glad to have ya back...🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤we still here watching ❤❤❤
Next time you have a flat use rubber cement on the plug hole and the plug itself and it’s way easier.
I worked on a county road crew in 1975.
PUT THE BIG END INTO THE CHIPPER FIRST, and there's less to hang up on branches.
If it doesn't fit, it's too big for the machine.
Major chores done!! 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Kati and Greg, My names Dennis. I have been watching you way back when you lived in the bus and started your off grid build. I am 73 yrs old and retired. I watch a select few off grid channels. You talk about your ongoing water problem. I watch another youtube couple who built there off grid home way up on a mountain. They used to load a tote a mile down the hill and drive the water back up to there off grid property. They could not dig a well. Even if they wanted. even digging down 500 feet, would not hit any water, let alone the cost to try. they finally come up with a way to get fresh water to there off grid property. And it was to far to run poly pipe. There channel is Ambition Strikes. There names are Courtney and Riley. I hope and pray you will contact them. I also hope and pray you read my comments. Thank you as I really enjoy your channel.
I always break the handle on the rasp and stick it in a cordless drill and running in and out a few times and then put the plug-in
Katie, you're getting really good at backing up that little trailer
Greg, you have lost your mind running through that fire
You should invest in a real 5x8 dump trailer or bigger if u have the money. One of the Best Buys I’ve made and a wood splitter
Awesome video
what a beast that shredder is, I honestly thought you were trying to brake it. And don't think I missed those morels you showed a few seconds of in the beginning, those are some yummy shrooms.
That was a TREE you chipped!! Glad it didn’t break your chipper!!
Very cool smoke shot!
What you get when you chip up twigs etc., you can use as litter for the animals
An imitation of " FIREWALKER " .Good thing you didn't trip on it with all the smoke . Happy Trails from Eastern Canada to Western Canada .🇨🇦 🇨🇦 ✌ out
I was told to always put the big end of the log in the chipper first, and whan you stack a pile of limbs place all the butts in the same direction.
If you ever want to get a worderful chipper, check out DK2 chippers. They are in Canada. I bought a 5" gas engine powered chipper two years ago and have used it a lot. It is very safe and has a shutdown switch on the end of the feed chute. They
are quite expensive, but they are terrific. lThey are an inertia chipper, meaning they have a heavy rotating cylinder with one blade each side. Both sides of the chipper qkuickly open for cleanout and they can be pulled by your four wheeler. PN
Have a great weekend
Its nice big pile of wood chips nice job
I've learned that if you let some air out it makes it easier to plug the tire love your channel
A chipper is for branches, not trees😂😂😂😂
So lucky, nice black Morels! Yummy. Pick lots they dry well!
Give the green part of the pine trees to the goats
Hey Greg next time u have a flat pump tire up and then plug it. The first tool u used smooth it out then leave it in tire and pump tire up. Then pull out and then plug it quickly. Alot Easier. Just alot Easier on u. Plug goes in alot better. GREER SOUTH CAROLINA. Love the videos
Love your intro
Glad to have you back Katie! Greg was a hard worker while you were away!❤
Let the fire get going and add more slowley.
Wow you guys got wood 😀
have you ever seen a fire that spreads underground by the roots of the trees? We once where in a campsite legal paid site where our campfire caught the tree roots on fire and it was about 20 feet away from our site and thank god the camp host found it and they put it out.. it literally burned under the ground and popped up....
Those puncture repair kits are the best. I'd never had a puncture in my life....last year I got 2 random screws in my massive BFG ATKO2s. I used my ARB repair kit and didn't even need to add air afterwards. So worth having one of those kits in every vehicle you own. Side-wall punctures make me sad though.....
Yeah, I have used them mostly on the lawn tractor, they work great.
That tractor is worth its weight in gold but don't tell the manufacturer 😀
Hello from Seattle! Hope y'all are having a wonderful day! Love the kitchen backsplash tile, btw. I hope it continues to grow on you. Also, please please please don't forget to wear proper PPE when using a chainsaw!
Hey guys, I have the biggest chipper Woodland Mills makes and noticed your chipper feed arm disengages when feeding the branches into it. If you look in the instructions around page 60 they tell you how to adjust that. I adjusted mine and it does not have the problem anymore. Hope this might help you out.
Hi, I been watching you video, I Really love to be around the woods. The amazing smells the nature .you people are amazing . Duen house a little farm. Wao is Rear 🆒 weather Hot 🔥 weather spring 🌱 weather amazing. I ❤ that you duen. .is beautiful. Keep the good work.
Greg, you have definitely taken years off that chipper. That is a very nice homeowners chipper. it's way too nice to abuse it like that.
THOSE MOREL MUSHROOMS FRY UP REAL GOOD AND ARE EXPENSIVE they come out here in april
Slo motion smoke was neat ending.
So many "That's what she said" opportunities in this video
Morels !
That would make a good post a lot of good post.
welcome home kattie
"I think it's too big" That's what she said. 😂
