Flournoy, La Grange, and the Chicken Ranch all achieved great fame after Larry L. King's book, the film starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton, and the song by ZZ Top all shone a nostalgic light on the infamous house of sin. Enjoy!

I bought a Cimarron open top in 44 Colt years ago. Frankly, it was a lemon from the factory and it took me quite awhile to get it to function correctly. However I finally made it work like it’s supposed to , still own it and enjoy having it. I enjoy your videos but I do not appreciate political commentary. There’s already too much political division.

After watching this video I ordered a Model P. Waited for months. When it finally arrived the end shake and barrel/cylinder gap was dangerously excessive… over 20 thousandths of an inch! Cimarron told me to send it back to their gunsmith. After more months of waiting it was mailed back to me. The barrel was set back so far that while the barrel/cylinder gap was great, the cylinder would no longer turn after cartridges were inserted. The base of the cartridge would not clear the recoil shield. Went from too loose to too tight. Sent it back again. This time the wait was much shorter, but when I got the revolver back, the cylinder fit correctly, but the ejector rod was literally hanging off of the barrel by almost 1/8” at the end. It was unusable and unsellable. I asked Cimarron to replace it, but they refused. I finally gave up and give it away. I love these old weapons and appreciate that they are still being made, but this was my experience.

I just acquired one of these revolvers, I have to say it’s one of the better reproductions out there with true to original markings (aside from ATF compliant manufacturers marks obviously). The fit is well done, finish is excellent, and was made by Pietta with a ‘4 click’ sear engagement! The only change I could possibly recommend is the cylinder pin safety screw be changed to a flush design to be in-line with the original government model construction this is based on, otherwise it is a beautiful and functional recreation of the prototype!

Just bought two of your Uberti SAA revolvers, a 7th Cavalry model in .45 Colt and a 5.5 in .44 WCF. Other than the fact that the Calvary model came with a mar in the grip and a scratch on the hammer, I am somewhat pleased with them both. Would simply argue that "Works of Art" are generally unblemished. Tools, on the other hand, are pretty much destined for some kind of surface altering demarcations. Just not sure in this case which term applies to my purchase.

Given the caliber, frame, barrel style, and overall size, not Leech and Rigdon, a Colt 3rd model Dragoon cartridge conversion is a better fit IMO. Consider the time period the movie was made in, and it's budget. In the mid 60's the Italian makers were pretty much sticking with main production repros, Walkers, Dragoons, Armies,, Navies, etc. United Artists gave them some good money to make this movie, but they didn't give them a blank check, and Eastwood was bending them over on his demands for compensation for the role. So, they would not have spent $$$ for a custom conversion from scratch. A Dragoon conversion would be primarily off the shelf parts. But hey, this is very high up on my list for purchase, once I've gotten a good '73 Winchester taken care of. :) I own the Cimmaron New Army conversion, and have been waiting for a long time for an open top conversion like this, and being so similar to the TGBU movie gun is a bonus! Coming from Cimmaron and my experience with them for quality, makes it an easy purchase decision, too.
