Make it slamfire! That'll move inventory more than a takedown.
The only time i think slam firing is effective is if your in a hallway or normal sized living room and have multiple threats at almost point blank range? Or r if your literally in a situation that your in trenches or buildings with like layouts that this gun would be effective. Or as a "Bear" camp gun even? In any case it would look awesome next to my VZ24 Mauser and 1911 my gramps left me!!! All ill need is a Garand! LOL Even if its one of those really nice .....sorry Italian replicas?! They sure are nice i have even held one in my hands although i have not fired one? I would want one in 30-06 or even maybe 308? I look for guns in calibers i dont own so my collection is more about the caliber then type of gun? I own quite a few AR15s all in multiple calibers ranging from 9mm threw 45ACP and up to 458Socom. Then i have lever and bolt guns in 30Cals like 6.5CM and 30-06 and , have wanted a 308 of some sort for some time? Its either going to be an all Aero Precision AR10 with a Faxon Barrel of a min length of 20' or more. With at least a 17' hand guard! Although the Atlas S-One is an awesome rail!!!! But the 308 dosnt have to be a semi-auto either so......? hehe Was really interested in the new strait pull by i think it was Savage or Remington? I forget off hand?
@@michaelw.urbansr.8617 I don't recall the last time I fought trench warfare but it just looks super-cool at the range. Looking badass is a priority for me, even if it's kinda retarded. I just want the experience.
You can scratch your Garand itch and your .308 itch with a Fulton Armory Enhanced .308 M1 Service Rifle.
Savage and Beretta have new straight-pull .308s but I'd totally spend a little more for the FA Garand...The Italian version is the BM-59, IIRC, and it costs just as much and is pretty scarce these days, and it doesn't go *ping*.
@@SCAxman If it CAN'T Slamfire it ain't a 1897 trench. Whether you'll use it or not is the shooters discretion.
@@michaelw.urbansr.8617 we want slamfire because it's what the original had. As you can expect, people who buy replicas want them to be as authentic as possible, otherwise we would just buy a modern featured gun rather than a replica
@@evocati6523 oh i agree i just said its not really effective in most situations. In close quarters or in an actual trench yes hehe or if a bear comes into camp and you feel its going to take more then one to put that grizzly down !ehhe i like the feature my self so bring it i love it. But its fun to shoot even if u miss the target most of the time! LOL
Any update on when these will be in production?
Wants
>heat shield
>Slam firing
>Bayonet lug
I love cimarron and there quality is like nothing else I've seen; And I haven't seen a good replica of the 1897 yet, but I look forward to seeing what cimarron comes up with!
WW1 was the major trench fighting.
You are correct, this is where it earned it's name. They continued to be used in the second world war, Korea & Vietnam, but were all referred to as "the trench gun".
@@oregonoutback7779 I wasn’t being critical. You are correct also.
Mike, I will be very interested in one of these as well. I would love to see one of the old Marlin pump actions with the exposed hammers made again. I would also like to say thanks to one of your employees, Bobby Pickens went out of his way to help me out on a problem with a Bad Boy 10MM. I believe it's guys like him that help make the company great! Thank you for offering so many fantastic guns, and hope you keep bringing out more.
Very much looking forward to the debut of y’all’s 1897. I’ve passed on 2 other replicas of the same model, due to questionable reliability. I have no doubt your 1897’s will be of superior quality, and functionality!
Count me in on a 1897 also Mike! Hands down this is my favorite pump shotgun ever.
I love the craftsmanship and quality Sir! Keep up the great work.
I’d love to have one of those 1897’s 🤠👍🏻
Mike, I cannot wait for that shotgun to come out! Those will sell like hotcakes....still hoping for the .22 winchester pump one of these days:) Thanks for all you do.
I hope you make versions in the standard configuration. I missed out when you last made them but love the look
My granddad owned a 1897 trench, and i always wanted one myself, i hope to see you guys release your version soon so i can buy one
Love every Cimarron I've ever bought. Quality has always been impeccable. Keep up the good work and hire me so I can work for a company I believe in.
I just heard about this not too long ago, im stoked, cant wait till you guys release em
Mike I can’t tell you how much I’ve been pleased with the Cimarron model 1886 standard sporting rifle I recently purchased. Currently I’ve got another Cimarron beauty on layaway. A model 1894 sporting rifle in 38-55. The color case hardening is just as beautiful as is on my 1886. I’ve been waiting forever for someone to make reproduction of the 1897 trench gun. I really can’t wait to get my hands on your offering. Many thanks for all your hard work.
Very cool...I look forward to seeing it in the future
Looking forward to getting one, love the 1897
Very excited to purchase one when they’re available!
Simply awesome!
I like the idea of the solid frame versus take down. But to be truthful, I would purchase either version as I have enjoyed Cimarron products over the years. I would definitely like to own such a historical firearm (or exact replica)!
Definitely look forward to this
Hella excited, would definitely buy a few, any idea if they will come out in 2023 or 2024?
Following. Haven’t heard or read anything else about it.
looks like the project foundered.....
Definitely go with the solid frame. I'll be buying one.
Looks like a fun gun.
I would sure like to dig into those safes!!
I gotta say...that commercial in the middle with the elk is pretty great. 😉
I have been waiting for years! So happy y’all are gonna start making them! About when are you expecting to start having them available to ship?
I am looking forward to this please do it in a slamfire
I've actually been in the market for one of the clones. But they've gotten expensive. I might wait for one of yours. Keep us updated Mike!
*Works great, nice height.*
Never enough of these
Looks like a beauty. I'm more interested in that painting in the background though.
Can't wait!
I've been wanting a 1897 trenchgun for years. It's a very classically sexy gun but they're workhorses to be sure.
Solid frame would be great
Solid frame? Okay, I can live with that, owning several 97s and Model 12s that have gotten loose over the years.
looking forward to this alot, definitely will buy one
Any news on this one?
Nothing to report at the moment. Thanks!
I am looking forward to getting this weapon. My grandfather carried one chasing Doroteo Arango ( Pancho Villa) and my father used one on WW2 and Korea.
Hell yeah! Solid frame please I’ll definitely take one.
Out of stock until (maybe) 2024
Looks good, I hope it'll be in stock. Most of your guns are difficult to find right now
True copy capable of Slam fire = purchase.
I held one of your 1897 while in a local gun store. Unfortunately I wasn’t smart enough to have bought it that day. I would dearly love to get one of your 1897.
I think many of us would love to see it as a take dow.
A Trench Gun? This makes me feel like one of the Pointer Sisters !!
Can't wait
ive always wanted one of these
I'm just glad y'all's company is located here in Texas. God bless Texas. By the way can y'all keep me informed when y'all have some schofields number twos models. I am looking to get a 7-in barrel as well as a 5-in barrel and nickel silver. And if it ain't too much trouble I to get to walkers and two whitleyville dragoons.
Any news on the gun? It’s been almost 2 years.
Still working with the manufacturer to get it correct. Thanks!
@@cimarronFA Thank you for the reply
When you guys begin to produce these, will you guys make them indefinitely or will you only make a few hundred or a few thousand then stop production?
Takedown for sure. Easier to transport. Plus with materials and technology now a days a takedown is just as strong as a non takedown. Winchester is doing it with their lever actions.
Please release this... I missed out on the Chinese ones. Really want one. If a takedown and a bayonet lugged fixed 1897 are released, ill buy both.
The marlin 17 and an Evans repeater , Burgess pump shotgun and rifle (idc if its a folder) and the 1878 colt DA or the Winchester 1876 protype revolver would be cool to see revived...IMHO
Really wish you would reconsider that “Takedown”. I think it’s a must have.
How come the bayonet mount and barrel are not lined up? Something is wrong there. Barrel shouldnt be sticking out farther.
I bought a cimarron 1897 a few years back and it’s still brand new never fired. Not because I chose to but because it has light primer strikes and has never been able to fire off a round.
Mike, I got replica M1897 made by Norinco. I only have as a wall hanger and range toy because I don’t fully trust the sturdiness of the build. It hasn’t ever given me any problems or fail to chamber & fire all kinds of different ammo but as a home defense weapon I can’t trust it’ll make the grade at the moment of truth. I’d be VERY interested in a Cimarron reproduction of this historical piece.
Y’all should make a Elmer Keith tribute number 5
Looking to get a Cimarron 1873 Winchester. Maybe a 1872 open top too.
I would love a replica Trench Gun.
Did ya make em ?
I have an original but would rather a less expensive one to play with lol
Maybe you can make two versions one take down one solid I'll be buying both if you do !
I would also like to get one of your 1897 pump shotguns. I have your 1887 lever gun in the works as well.
I already own one of your long guns and its a 357 lever gun!!! I JUST LOVE IT! I have been searching for one of these Trench guns for some time now and cant afford an original? So if your going to build these and price them right ,about how much are they going to cost? I was looking for shotguns ot upgrade to look like this or buy one out right but im waiting for yours?!?!?!?!?!? Lets us know when they will be coming out PLEASE? and HOW MUCH???
I have an 1897 Winchester that was manufactured in 1908. It was converted into a trench gun. Shoots without any hiccups. I would love to have a new reproduction! God Bless. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Are you still going to make it or have you side lined the program
Still working on it. Thanks!
@@cimarronFA thank you cant wait !
@Cimarron Firearms I can't wait I'm gonna try and save up for it in this economy.
Any news on the 1897? I want! 😊
Please let me know when you guys start selling these. Should go nice with my m1 garand
I love takedown rifle's and shotgun's, you could make one of each and then I'll buy both. Sincerely Ruger Rich
I’m saving the money now for one and I don’t even know the price!!
Hey Mike, do you have any estimation on when these guns will be released? Will they be released around Christmas time?
No release date, but definitely not by Christmas. It is a looooooong process and we've been working on this model about 7 years.
Is it still in the works?
Yes.
Will this new project offer the new 1897 in different barrel lengths? Such as 26 inches or 30 inches.
Any news on this
Has there been any forward movement on bring this model out
Solid frame in 12 and 20 ga please.
I’ll take two
WHERE CAN I GET ONE
When will these be coming to market
You don't have any of those, or any shotguns on your website in stock or at all.. You should start producing many of those trench guns and other shotguns. I'm very much interested.
Make it hold 6 in the tube and it's more desirable than the competition. Lot of debate on 5 vs. 6. Many can fit 6 but may be due to old springs or of spec measurements. If you can make it 6 in the tube stock then I won't bother looking for an original Winchester.
When might this go into production?
Are these in production yet? I can't find it anywhere!
will it still slamfire when they come back? because if so im 100% getting one
Another up vote. Keep the slam fire. Prefer as close to the military model with the correct markings. Take down. No.
When are you guys going to sell some more?
Soon hopefully. Thanks!
@@cimarronFA anytime! I really want to buy my first shotgun. I feel like this will be good for years
Make it a takedown and I'll buy one.
Can't find any in stock anywhere.
Make both styles if possible.
Will this simply be an imported Norinco or will this be something else? Do you have any details on how this might be different than a Norinco or IAC?
Not an imported Norinco or IAC. It is what Mike is describing in the video. Thanks!
Will it slam fire? Will it come with a bayonet?
Was this ever released? If so I can never find this firearm anywhere I look
It's not released yet.
@@patgray5402 oh okay do you know of an estimated time of release?
@@claytonreeve69 No telling. I've seen these types of things take years.
@@patgray5402 dang alrighty I’ll just have to wait
As long as it is not made in China, you will get my business.
It probably will be. I think that is who are making their 87s that will be available soon.
I’ll buy one regardless. Never had a bad gun from cimarron and I’ve got over a dozen, some rifles some revolvers, and got a double barrel on back order with my local gun shop.
@@pipe_cowboy5742 Don’t bother me either. Cimarron goes to great lengths to make sure the guns are right.
@@JWheeler331 indeed they put more detail in any one gun they sell than Winchester has in any of the actual Winchester named newer generation models.
@@pipe_cowboy5742 that’s part of the problem. China is not a friend
What's the time frame on these?
Probably a few more years until they are available. Thanks!
@@cimarronFA Damn, what am I supposed to shoot until then!?
Thanks for the response :)
If I am not mistaken, you can't take down an this gun without removing the heat shield/bayonet lug assembly first. So that limits the utility of that feature on a Trenchgun. Will Cimaron's gun have the revised firing pin that Coyote Cap designed to make the gun less apt to go off if dropped?
Shut up and take my money!
Introduced by a choir of Charlie Brown’s teachers
Like a modern trench gun, the heat shield should be longer to reach the receiver. Not only to protect the hands from burns but to distinguish the 'improved' reissued version from collectible originals.
Greetings from 2 years in the future and absolutely zero updates on this project👋
16ga ?????
Where is the 1887 we were promised back in march? Why talk about the 1897 when the other one has not been released yet.
They are being packed to be shipped to distributors at the moment. Will be available soon (less than a month). Thanks!
@@cimarronFA Can I buy direct from you in a few weeks or now?
@@MARKO2465 I believe we may have already sold them to distributors long ago, but please call us at 830 997 9090 and one of our sales staff may be able to help you track one down. Thanks!
Whatever happened with these?
He replied a few comments down they are still working with the factory.
