  • Been having a lot of fun with this! Wood figure is great, matte metal finish isn’t very durable but it’s fine for a “working” gun. Action cycles fine. Did I say it’s fun…..?

    Bro welcome to the club! I have the 28” barrel version from cimarron and it’s great! Hunted pheasant with it last year, tons of fun to shoot. Sometimes the action screws in the receiver come loose, a little blue loctite fixed that. You can load it surprisingly fast with a little practice, and leather work gloves so you don’t cut up your hand. Also if you load the mag tube, put a shell in the chamber, with the action open and the carrier down you can get an extra shell in the receiver. Keep the vids coming man they’re great.

    God , we missed you a lot .Also , pairing the Winchester 1887 and Remington 1875 feels aesthetically proper for some reason .

      I’ve eyed 1887’s for some time, and when I saw Cimarron was making new ones in a different factory I decided to get one. No complaints yet. It’s fun.

      @@astark1987 Hi. The only markings on the barrel other than Cimarron’s information is “Manufactured by BAM, PRC”.
      It’s very subtle a nicely done I think.
      All I heard is that it’s not the same factory as their previous 87’s were made.

    Great video. Looks like a lot of fun (I'm certainly jealous of the locale). Can you tell me what the length of pull is? Too many shotguns have stocks that are just a little long for my little tyrannosaurus arms...

      Hello. I measure 13” trigger to butt. I don’t see this being an issue for someone shorter than me. I have plenty of arm room to spare on this one. Thanks!

    Hi, I just got my hands on one of these and was wondering if you could help me out with something. I've noticed that when the gun isn't cocked (hammer is up in the "safe" position), the bolt doesn't seem to lock up properly and any bump or jolt to the gun can cause the action to pop open slightly. When the gun is cocked and ready to fire though, this isn't the case. Was this the same with yours, or should I have a gunsmith take a look at it?

    • @gunsmackamigos1159
      @gunsmackamigos1159  Před 3 měsíci

      Hello. I’ve never had mine pop open unintentionally. But after your comment, I tested it: With the gun empty, I’m able to forcefully “shake/shove” the gun downward hard enough to get it to pop open, even all the way open. But loaded with snap caps, I can’t get it to do that. Even with just one snap shell in the mag tube it doesn’t pop open by shaking or jolting it. If you don’t have shotgun snap caps, load the mag tube (don’t chamber one!) and lower your hammer and see if that helps the issue. This is the first 87 I’ve ever had or shot so don’t know if it’s normal. Please reply back here with any findings or action you take. Thanks.

    • @Robloxman01
      @Robloxman01 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@gunsmackamigos1159 I loaded a few snap caps like you suggested, and with them in the magazine tube it no longer pops open. It still pops open almost freely when empty and it takes a few tries to get it to stay closed when uncocked and completely empty. I suspect that the source of my issue is the springs in the action and will resolve after I break it in, but I plan to call Cimarron tomorrow to find out if it's safe to shoot in this condition. I'll reply again with what I find out, and if it's safe to shoot I'll see if running a few hundred shells through it fixes the problem.

    • @gunsmackamigos1159
      @gunsmackamigos1159  Před 3 měsíci

      @@Robloxman01 Mine never takes a few tries to close completely tho. But like I said, it will pop open if shaken very hard. One other side note: I’m glad I tested it based on your issue, as the first couple times I shook it downwards hard, the rear left receiver screw fell out on my garage floor! Luckily I wasn’t in the field or I’d never have known it or found it! I then checked all the others and snugged them down good. FYI…

    • @gunsmackamigos1159
      @gunsmackamigos1159  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Interesting. I just doublechecked and I didn’t put “test” or “review” in the title. Actually, NONE of my videos say that. I’m not a reviewer channel. I just like making videos that show my various firearms in hopefully interesting scenes and different action shots. I answer any performance/quality related questions in the comment sections. Regarding the loud music, if your volume control is broken, you should take your device to a local electronics technician for repair.
