That's a Fine piece of Artillery you have here. I had one back in the mid 90s and had to sell it. Trust Me, I'm still kicking my own behind for doing that and I'm determined to correct that mistake as soon as I can! Thanks for sharing yours with us
Hello! I wish I was able to have kept every gun I’ve owned. I feel lucky that I was able to get this one recently. (Or any of them for that matter). Thank you for your comment!
Well... that's the first of several times today I'll watch that video. I'm very happy to see a new video from you. Brother, I believe a few gun companies need to contact you to arrange using some of your videos in their marketing ads....because now I want a 6" Model 29 Classic.
Hey man, how’s it goin? Thanks so much!!! Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility for any firearm purchases resulting from viewing of these videos. (Haha) Years ago I gave my brother my 6” Redhawk. Just the other day I traded my 4.2” Redhawk for a new 586 Classic. I love the Rugers for what they are, but as we discussed before, I’ve no need or desire for wrist breaking, nuclear loads. A stout factory bear load like these 305’s I have are plenty for me for a woods gun, and this one will be fine with those occasionally. (And this Smith wins hands down in the looks dept). Shooting factory 240 gr in it is so enjoyable. Who’d a thought a 44 Mag would become one of my favorite plinkers!
@@gunsmackamigos1159 Like I mentioned before, I may never buy the "+P+" Buffalo Bore loads. I'm certain my 310-gr Lee GC/21.5 gr of H110/W296 loads are quite capable of any need I'll ever have, and I believe a newer S&W N frame would eat them. I'll still hold onto the 4.2" Redhawk .44, though I may add a 6" 29-10 Classic or a 6" 629 of the same barrel profile as your 29.
Beautiful video, I enjoyed watching it. I’m glad to see that there was minimal comments about new versus old, blah blah blah. You have a fine revolver there and you handle it well. I will be watching more of your videos to see what else is in your collection.
I bought my S&W 29-10 with the 6.5” barrel in June 2023. Have overall been happy with it except for the issue of blast marks on the side of the cylinder near the front. I’ve done some research and replaced the screw in the top strap that a lot of people replace in the S&W classic series revolvers however that didn’t fix the blast mark issues on the cylinder with mine. I’ve sent the gun back to S&W twice and after the second time they shipped the gun back to me saying that those blast marks are normal wear and tear. These blast marks do not clean off very easily. Only thing I’ve found that works for taking the blast marks off is lead removal cloth. Doesn’t appear to hurt the blueing but I’ve also only cleaned the blast marks off one time so far.. I’m worried that if I have to clean these blast marks off every time I clean the gun the blueing won’t last very long in those areas.. So was wondering if you’ve experienced this same issue with yours? Blast marks on the cylinder simply from firing the gun? I’ve done some research and looked around and I’m seeing some guns that are having the blast mark issue and some that aren’t.. I just don’t see how S&W calls it normal wear and tear.. I’ve never seen any of the older S&W revolvers from the 70’s and 80’s or older affected by this issue..
@@AMF96 Hi. My Classics get pretty dirty cylinder faces and sides (and some “burn rings”) from normal shooting. I haven’t changed the sight screw yet but heard it could help. I usually apply a thin coat of oil to my cylinders before each session. It seems to help with after cleaning. Related issue?:: - My Schofield was getting horrifically dirty each time I shot it. Turns out the cylinder/barrel gap was way too big. Had it corrected and it helped quite a bit.
Hello! Yep, been tweaking the collection a little. (This one isn’t the beefiest 44 mag I’ve owned but it’s for sure the prettiest. Suits my needs and wants just fine.) Thanks!
@@gunsmackamigos1159 It's got a 1920's look to the shape...in my opinion. It goes great with a blued S&W. I might like something along those lines for while carrying the 4" Model 29.
@@plowboysghost Yep. I’d been looking at various Fedoras online but never saw one I felt would be ok not seeing in person. Happy with how this redo turned out. Gonna exp with different bands, depending on the gun in my hands. Haha
Hello and thanks. The same could be said for all of S&W’s Classic Series. Regardless, it’s still a S&W Model 29. Kinda like a new Colt Python is still a Colt Python, etc., etc..
Hello. So far so good. Don’t see any thinning areas yet. Of course this isn’t the same blueing as from 50 years ago, but for modern methods it’s pretty nice.
The CMC joint in my right thumb has a bad arthritis condition. When shooting heavy loads I can’t wrap my hand in a “standard” fashion. Therefore, my grip is right for ME. Thanks for the advice.

You return and you return with the Henry Callahan gat
Hahaha!!! Hello! (Any excuse to dust off the fedora). This is turning out to be a nicer shooter than I was hoping for. Thanks for commenting!
It's "Harry" Callahan.
....just sayin.

Nice music video..
Hi and thanks. Yeah, I grew up with Mtv so I’m trying to resurrect that genre. Haha
What brand/model of hat is that toward the end... like at 3:55 ?
Howdy. That’s my old Justin 4X that I cut the brim down to 2 3/4” and reshaped the crown. Model name is now “Redneck Gangsta Deluxe”.

Nice video, but I think some people think this is an original model 29, not the modern day "classic" reintroduced version.

Hello. Yes it is.
Is there a better looking double action revolver?
Hi! If there is, I’m not gonna make that vote. Thanks!
Do they still make these?
Hello. Yes, they’re part of their Classic Series.
@gunsmackamigos1159 there are hardly any 6 inch on gunbroker
