I'm not going to let someone other than family rent a room or put a tiny house in my back yard. I can understand why you won't do it. The whole "prepper community" or compound idea makes sense in a lot of ways, but I'd rather be friends with my neighbors and help each other when needed, than all live on one piece of property. Especially if it's someone else's property. I'm really looking forward to seeing how your house turns out. In regard to your land, I've seen someone said they got a good deal on their property because they can build on both sides of it, because it's so steep. I think some of these folks have already hit the lottery, or were executives at some big corporation. They sure have a lot more money than we do! Linda and I both have health issues, and we MUST live close to medical help. As far as off-grid living, I applaud those folks who can and do. In our case, our solar power will be as a backup and to keep our bill low. I'm the same age you are, and I'm not trying to make my little house into a doomsday bunker. I'm just trying to be as self-reliant as I can, and to live comfortably. We have water, and electric on the grid, and garbage pickup. We also have a generator, and soon we'll have solar. Water catchment and filtration also. Gotta take care of ourselves, nobody else is going to do it for us. All the best to you and your family.

I think I would definitely add a vapor barrier if you didn't put one under the gravel. Also when you add the porch I would definitely make sure they are fastened to the building to help hold it down if you're not going to put tie downs in the ground. Could even add a post to each back corner also I would add hurricane straps inside to hold the roof on with the winds we've been getting maybe even throw some extra screws in places to make sure everything's tied together good. Should make him a nice place though I plan to do something like that when I get older and sell my house. Are you going to give us updates on his build or is it private??

The deck will look great. They made this look way too easy, I was shocked they made the turn without knocking out a bunch of trees. Looks good, seems well built. Welcome home Alex!!!

It’s not a glitch, they lie. They do this shit on purpose. Why comments disappear all the time. I could say “hey that’s a really cool Tree. You did a video one” in that comment will disappear the next day. 🤷🏼‍♂️ As if a multi billion dollar tech company couldn’t figure out a tiny glitch Why do they even have an algorithm the routes around deleting peoples comments in the first place?

I’m going to have a very similar system for my off grid cabin. Separate pumps for hot and cold water. Running pex pipe to kitchen and bathroom sinks, shower, and toilet. Can you give me any advice on how it’s still working for you?

*I HAVE THE ANSWER FOR REAL & CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO FIX THIS* I tried this over and over and it works every time. In short, this was happening to me randomly and could never figure out why so I'm going to use this as an example. I posted a comment and a troll (as always) commented with a smart-ass reply. Of course I replied this time with a couple weak choice of words (not really bad, most abbreviated). In less than 10 seconds my initial message along with his reply stayed intact but my attempt to respond kept getting kicked in less than 10 seconds. I kept changing what I said and even kept my language clean but I'd still get kicked. I believe when both sides use foul or hate language it triggers CZcams to stop any further conversation *BUT, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET AROUND IT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS.* *ANSWER:* Reply to the person you want to address your reply to but delete their name so it's no longer directed at that person specifically. Follow up with your reply but try to avoid foul language and guess what? The replies I had that were deleted (not viewable) came back into view! To test myself, I then deleted that comment and sure enough it made my former reply disappear again! This time I tried to leave his name and give him just a couple crying emojis "🤣🤣🤣 " and that got deleted out of view but I did it again by first deleting his name from the beginning of the message again and this time, even the crying emojis all came back viewable again! That's the trick guys, hope I was helpful and if you are here, give it a try. If it works for you, give a thumbs up for my taking the time to share the ability to *"Freedom of Speech"!*
