What Perrie and Alex are doing is no different then if you are in a committed relationship to someone to does long distance trucking or a partner who has a apartment in the city and only comes back home on weekends. I was misdiagnosed 4 different things during the course of 5 days at 35 weeks pregnant. My body was actually triggering labour. The idiots wanted to induce me but i was already 2cm dilated. They sent my anxiety sky high for fk all and i won't ever trust them again. My second child is due in August and because of the first experience, im worried already. Im going to pour my heart out to my midwife... Hopefully she listens! Fingers crossed for a better experience.

I’ve never dated a royal, but many years ago, when I was very cute, I went on a couple of dates with a famous actor. I found out right after we were seated at our table for dinner the price celebrities pay for being well know. We hadn’t looked at our menus and it started. The non stop people coming to our table fawning over him and asking for autographs. He apologized many times. I wasn’t too happy and then to top things off, when we went back to his hotel suite, he thought I was going to be dessert. A few days later he asked me out again, more “I’m sorry’s”. Let me make it up to you. We went out a second time and it was a repeat night. I’m glad nobody had smart phones then because you know who would be taking the photos all night. He asked me out a third time but I said I was busy. He gave me his phone number in New York. I think I might have it in an old address book.

That was the same with my labour in 2007, midwife had her back to me writing notes throughout. I ended u having a traumatic birth ended up in emergency C-section.

I am autistic myself and I must say I am pretty shocked by some of the comments I have read. It makes me sad to see that some ppl still think that only because an autistic person is able to mask, that it is as easy as for neurotypicals to communicate. It is not. It is like talking the entire time in a language that you only speak with high focus and concentration while the neurotypicals just do it without any effort. Some are able to make it look the same way(which doesn’t mean it is the same thing). The price is high for making it look that way- burnouts. It’s like being the second best version of someone else because when I have my mask on, I am completely not myself. It takes so much energy. It is like the neurotypicals speak fluently a language I have to translate the entire time to understand at least half of it. And this of course costs way much more energy than a neurotypical who does it just naturally effortless. That’s why I had to change my life in a way I don’t break down every six to eight weeks- that wasn’t easy. And this is just a small piece of what we have to face. To think that some ppl get that diagnose to get attention or sth or to be „unique“ is sth so ridiculous to me: Are the ppl aware that a diagnose can take lots of time(not only to be done, but also to wait for before the process itself)? I always wished to be normal- even went to several therapies just to find out it’s sth I can’t change. And I know I am not the only one experiencing it like that. And then on top some ppl in the internet write the most mean stuff. Shame on those ppl.

I have a similar story to Colleen's sister. I had a 36-hour labour before everything went frantic and I was whisked off for an emergency c-section. I was having contractions for all that time but wasn't dilating. I felt something wasn't right, but I wasn't listened to. Then, just before starting the op, I heard the surgeon say, "I don't like the look of this" to a colleague. I think he thought I wouldn't hear him, I don't know. I was then worried that my baby was going to be born dead. Luckily, he was ok. For weeks afterwards I kept crying for no apparent reason. I now believe that I was traumatised at the time. But, as you say, you're just left to get on with it afterwards.

It’s really odd that in both America and the UK that black women have higher risk than anyone else. I’m not talking about the obvious, I’m wondering if anyone has ever really delved into the science of it. Im American so we don’t have anything like the NHS although my husband was in the military so we did have really good healthcare. The hospital we were at had a policy of basically “we don’t believe in pain” so they kept me more than comfortable. I am what’s called a borderline free bleeder. Just means I bleed a lot more than normal but not to the point of danger usually. So I had some issues after birth but again, really really good drugs so I was calm and that kept my husband calm.

Yes there absolutely needs to be a maternity minister that solely handles maternity care and neonatal care in the NHS. My sister could have died from blood loss after delivering her son in 2017
