I don’t think Charles has really changed that much, it’s just that people are finally cutting him some slack and acknowledging all the good he’s done over many years, including the environment and architecture, sure, but how can you leave out the Prince’s Trust that has helped well over 1M people? He’s only now becoming compassionate? No, it’s just everyone bought into the Diana bs and tarred and feathered both him and Camilla for decades and now that he’s in the big role, people are at last seeing his worth.

So glad I’m not the only person who sees this. I think he’s a wonderful man. I think some of these woman don’t get it at all. They seem to think he’s changed but he hasn’t. He’s always been like this. They’ve just not bothered to look past Diana to see who he really was.

Charles was constrained as a prince he had to behave as the firm dictated. He is human and those restrictions had in my opinion a very negative impact on his life, I think he was often deeply unhappy. He married Diana under a lot of pressure and then his love of Camilla couldn’t be contained. Diana and he were never suited as much as everyone wanted a fairytale it was their lives. It took a lot of courage to stand up for his own happiness. Unfortunately in real life people get hurt. Diana and Charles were hurt by their upbringing and the one thing they both tried to do was make it better for their children. Unfortunately as we have witnessed that hasn’t happened. I have always had compassion for Charles and believe he has always had compassion for others. The press has been unkind to him long before he married Diana, she too was a very compassionate person but like everyone had some very human flaws.
The only part of being royal I envy is knowing so much about their history! Everything else, living in a goldfish bowl…no thanks.

You do realise that when the late Queen was alive Charles wasn’t allowed to reveal his true self 100%. If he was t compassionate he wouldn’t have visited Brixton after the riots to see what the riots were about. He would haven’t up the Princes Trust. He wouldn’t have cared about the environment for the future. You just don’t get him or his situation. For 73 years he had to do as his mother told him now he’s truly himself. I for one love him and what he does for our planet and its people.

Diagnosis has not changed the King in anyway. He has always been a strong, compassionate man. Diana manipulated the press and the people and he couldn’t fight against the perception of him she fed everyone. He did not deign to use his children to improve his image unlike his first wife. Glamour will always win over duty, dedication and hard work. The King’s trust will always been an outstanding and ongoing legacy, Diana didn’t even leave a penny to her charities in her will.

Had you asked me this same question around the time Prince William & Princess Catherine got married..I'd say no,once the Queen Dies it needs to be William's Turn. If Meghan hadn't met Harry & The Late Queen & Prince Philip hadn't died so suddenly. My answer all those years ago would remain the same.
