Our women are just some of the many who have been watching, and they feel like the show’s brought the dangers and realities of stalking into the forefront of people’s minds. I do like Coleen but was extremely disappointed in her and Brenda when they said this poor man had encouraged it at a times! You'd never say this about a woman who was a victim of stalking. The series was showing a real situation where things arent black and white, the man clearly had his own mental health issues and had very low self esteem, so you can see why at times he craved the attention. These comments made me feel very uncomfortable for this poor guy
He himself admits he did encourage as such
Richard Gadd himself admits this tho, he kept messaging back and meeting up with her. A woman who had unwanted attention wouldn’t do this

Stalkers don’t care about restraining orders, it’s futile, it’s complex , you can’t reason with madness.

See how male victims aren’t taken as seriously? They talk about baby reindeer and say ‘oh he encouraged it’ but hen they show a video of a female victim where they’ve created a video and serious campaign yet don’t seem to blame the woman for encouraging it… why don’t they talk about the uproar in male victims coming forward to abuse from women?
He did not encourage anything. He was a kind person. And like all kind people he blamed and questioned himself. He felt responsible for this complete stranger. I know that feeling

Police can be insensitive, because their training I believe is shades of black and while to gray for instance. I think any person who is questioned by the police choose there words wisely and note the name of the police person.
This is where care in the community has got us to.
what's bizarre is the stalker came out saying they're going to take legal action against the makers of the show and yet they wanted to remain private, I'm like you've just outed yourself lol. I was stalked for years by someone I knew and nothing was done, there needs to be more put in place to protect women, children AND men because we will at some point in our lives have to deal with something like this.

My comment is not about ‘Baby Reindeer’, it’s about Coleen’s rude behaviour……….Janet apologised to Coleen for interrupting when expressing her thoughts…….but no apology from Coleen when she in turn interrupted Janet……….this just stood out to me.
If a woman was abused and stalked these woman would not be saying she encouraged it

@S-rn6xn this was a very recent thing, though. Up until about 2015 and even now, women still get blamed when people attack them. Men need to start talking more like women did. But your support of each other is abysmal.
I read another comment they said he admitted that he did encourage it at some point.

I do wish Colleen would not dye her hair such a severe color, I always find myself looking at her hairstyle and not concentrating on what she is saying, I like her very much and prefer her as the show’s anchor to Ruth. Colleen is an attractive lady and it would be nice to see more of her face than this mass of black hair.

Just imo Id say more Machiavellianism . I don’t think Martha loved herself and he wasn’t rich or famous or anything so there was nothing for her to gain materialistickly she was obsessed with him . Very complicated person I’d love to know what a psychiatrist would think

Just because he was nice to her, didn't immediately set boundaries or underestimated the threat from her does NOT MEAN he encouraged the stalking!!!! 👿 Shame on you!! He did not deserve being terrorized and STALKED by this woman! She went after his friends and parents too! She's a criminal.

I found it extremely difficult to watch . This happens in our world . There is very little help available. These things are disturbing. And it’s complicated. This is more what we should be talking about - help for both parties .

Was so annoying fast forward the last episode
It was all his fault from the beginning. He was pathetic. He encouraged her every moment. Even when he confronted her he still managed to goad her into doing it more. No wonder the police don't take it seriously. He is not the victim, she is. She's a victim of his manipulation.
