Had my sec+ for years now, but i did recently get the Linux+ a few months ago. Symone is right. After going thru an e-course, I took like 8 practice exams. Passed on the first try when i took the real one. Practice exams are CRITICAL.

93 on the asvab is almost perfect score lol he might be capping

I work at a staffing agency. We request simple MS Word resumes. Its easier to edit for our clients and itparses easier in the ATS system.

Got my first IT job right after service in GovTech, we really be chillin' and the pay is significantly higher than some of the other jobs I've seen online. One job in N.O. was looking for techs for like $9.00/hr. Wtf can you do with that?

IT support advisor here. Got the job without IT experience nor education coming from being a mail lady. However, I took a major pay cut to get my foot in the door. It is a temporary sacrifice that I was willing to make. Currently working on security+ now and even secured a scholarship via Woman In Cloud for Microsoft Cybesecurity Cert. Everything depends on the effort and sacrifices YOU are willing to make.

The one thing that I avoid with all my life is working for start-ups. Their budget is pretty tight and they are very picky with candidates. Start-ups without real promise are there just to waste your time with their lengthy processes and even if you successfully overcome all the steps, your chances of getting rejected is still way too high without any satisfactory explanation....

Working with recruiters has been helpful for me, it’s how I’ve gotten 2/3 of the tech jobs I’ve had. One reached out to me on LinkedIn, one I reached out to based on a recommendation from an old coworker.

Would you say NOC roles are less common now? I see almost no job postings for them but maybe that’s just my geographic area.
